Wanted short square nails and this is what I got. A male staff did my nails. He was very rough and pinched me many times with the drill. He was rushing and skipped many steps I noticed. He did not push back the cuticle or clean up that area at all. He just drilled off natural shine of nail & went straight to glue nail tips and acrylic application. I wanted a darker pink for the acrylic base and even showed him a inspo pic. He said the dark pink looks better on dark skin and that light pink looks better if your light skin. I disagreed and he continued to only show me light pink color shades. I felt very uncomfortable and I should have left. Idk how this person is certified to do nails if he can't do nails correctly. Unpleasant experience I will be going elsewhere for nail services. read more

I had a very disappointing experience here. The male nail tech was rude from the start, even telling me the color I chose didn't match my skin tone and should have picked another color. 2days later I had to return because the nails was already lifting and trapping food and dirt. Instead of fixing the issue, he told me there was nothing wrong and refused to address it. When I asked to have the nails removed since he wouldn't fix them, he said I would have to pay and continued to be rude. Very unprofessional and not the kind of service you expect when paying for your nails. I will not be returning and would not recommend this place. read more

This is a run down out dated salon. The employees are friendly enough however for the most part they are not up to date on their services. The guy who did my finger nails was totally out of touch on what should be done. I asked him to remove my acrylics and give me a manicure. He was messy and running back and forth between me and two other customers. Every color of polish I chose was not the color of the actual bottle of polish, I finally settled for a clear polish. The manicure was the absolute worst I have ever had. I had to file my nails when I got home and add more polish. I also had a pedicure the lady who did this was ok I am sure she did the best she could. I do not recommend this salon unless you want to just throw away your money, in my case in threw away $99.00. read more

I found it very suspicious when I finished getting my service done they did a horrible job and I did not plan on leaving a tip but once lady took my payment i preceded to ask for a receipt she took way longer and made some "changes" on the machine then printed my receipt but with a 2 dollar tip and well as their card fee. Let me start by saying I have never been to this salon before. I'm a new student at the university and I have a nail salon I swear by at home. I discovered a new place in Atwater that I tend to go to, however, my "new" place was closed when I came back yesterday morning. I frantically searched yelp for a nail salon open on a Sunday and I came across Venus Nails. I was a little skeptical considering the reviews and the amount stars, however, I was blown away. I called and asked if they had any open spots for an acrylic gel fill and they told me I could come in right away. I got to the salon and I was warmly greeted and they began my nails immediately. They have a large variety of gel polishes, and their polishes are one of the highest quality polishes I have ever had used on my nails. My technician, Kim, made sure to ask me how I felt about the shape of each nail before moving on to the next. If I had any concerns regarding the shape, Kim was happy to fix it. When I was having my nails filed down, a bit of my finger began to bleed. Kim immediately treated the wound by sterilizing it and applying pressure and asked if there was anything else I needed. At Venus Nails, a gel fill costs only $25! Additionally, they give out stamp cards (2 for each visit) and after 8 visits, you get $15 off your next service! Venus nails was extremely welcoming, efficient, and fairly priced. I highly recommend you come check out the salon before being scared away by other reviewers! This salon does not give the service requested, only does a partial job when it comes to pedicures as the technician hurries through the service and doesn't complete all phases noted on the service menu. when using a credit or debit card, they add the tip without your knowledge. they don't ask if you'd like to leave a tip, they just add the tip themselves. they are THIEVES!!!!!! read more

Worst service!!! The woman at the front desk is very rude and unprofessional. I brought my grandmother in to get a mani and pedi. As my grandmother is getting her callus removed the lady from the front desk comes over and dramatically snatches the tool from the woman currently working on my grandmother. My mother in law went to make appointments on the 29th for the 3rd the lady that she talked to told her she had to call back closer to the appointment and the guy wasnt there that she wanted to have her nails done by. She called the day before and made it for 1. Went in at 1 the next day and the older lady was rude and the guy didnt have us written down and scheduled 3 people at the same time. I got seen right away and the guy wanted my mother in law to come back at 3 for him do her nails. My mother in law told him that when she goes to a nail salon she likes seeing only 1 person. She had to wait an hour to have her nails done which still wasnt done by him. They were a different color then what she originally had. 1 person ended up walking out because she accidently dropped a bottle of nail polish and wanted her to pay for it. My gel fell off on Wednesday and my mother in law called the lady thursday morning and told me to come in after i get out of work. They had at least 9 people working and 3 customers having pedicures done. They asked me who did my nails and i was never told her name and told them where I sat and the lady that has the section of the table told me that they don't recognize me. She rushed to get my nail done and hurt my skin around my nail with her rushing. She didn't put a blue under the green glitter that i picked out, theres a section that you see just my nail and you can see my nail through the glitter. My mother in law called when I got home and told the manager that my nail wasnt correct and that they wanted me to come in the next day and have it redone a 3rd time and at that moment my mother in law was told that they were really busy. there are no words to describe how awful horrible this place was. i went in with my mother and my cousin for pedicures. keep in mind it was a rainy SLOW day. So to start off the person i had was an older gentleman, he was extremely rough on my legs when massaging, he left my nails CROOKED no matter how many times i told him if he could straighten it out he would shake his head as if it was a bother. THEN he did NOT clean the edges correctly which eventually led to my gel polish chipping off within 2 days and lifting. As for the second person who worked on my cousin, who id say was more middle aged, did NOT take his time. i want to say he took 15 mins MAX. I really hate telling anyone how to do their job cause who does really??? but she asked for a specific color and they had none of the colors which was more of a lilac color, and she would choose a different that were similar to it and they had NONE of them. So that led to annoyance. OH AND he also didn't clean around the edges and proceeded with aggression as well. so overall experience was a -10/10. The person who worked on my mom however wasn't as bad, but my mom did have an ingrown toenail and you'd think they can help take it out but the lady actually made it worse.. the crazy thing is is that the 2 guys were RUSHING and there was nobody else but us 3 and that definitely isn't the vibe. i wanted to be calm and relaxed but i felt tense and almost like i was a bother there... anyways. never going back. do what you want with this information. read more

My seventeen year old daughter has been here twice, once for a full set (which looked ok I guess, definitely not worth the $35 she spent on them since they had several smudges in the polish) and the second time for a fill, which looks awful! She asked to have her coffin shaped nails shortened a bit and now they're just square. Her cuticles are beat up and her nails are incredibly uneven, they're lumpy as hell! And she asked for powder pink and ended up with pepto bismol . For lack of a better description, they look like shit! I can't believe they would let a client walk out of their door like this. I went in today for a manicure/gel. He put my hands in water for like two seconds and then began to cut my cuticles while the other hand was in pure water. Then the gentlemen looks at my nails and tells me that I just had my acrylics removed. I responded and said "yes they are very fragile". That being said I would hope for him to be gentle but it was the opposite. He filed my nails harshly and then did it again after the gel was on my nails. He didn't massage my hands or clean them up. I chose a light pink color but the lady said it was to light so she applied a greyish purple color. Wtf? Foot massage was her just lathering my feet and legs in lotion. And to top it off they did not remove any of the dead skin on my feet. Like seriously had to get another pedicure the very next day. NOT THERE!
