We had two pedicures. Picked this place due to the yelp rating. The place was not filthy, but not clean. My technician did well, although I know she was way too young to be a licensed nail tech. The older man who did my friend, smelt like cigarettes, and did a very lazy job on her pedicure. Even though I got gel on mine and my friend got regular polish, it was almost an extra 45 minutes from the time she was done to the time I was done. I had to tell my young technician how to make a glazed donut color. Again, I know for fact she was not licensed. TDLR should be aware. I will not return. read more

Wonderful service and a peaceful atmosphere. We both asked for an ultimate pedicure. The nail technicians weren't in a rush and held friendly conversation throughout the pedicures. We were offered a water upon arrival and quickly seated. The french tips didn't turn out to be the style of my liking, but I feel as if the blame falls on me for not speaking up. I'm from out of town and this was my second time visiting this salon based on rating and reviews on Yelp. The first time I visited, I only got a pedicure which was good. But this second time visiting I decided to try their gel manicure. The gel manicure ran about $35 which is typical. The woman who did my manicure was very polite, but seemed a bit distracted. Needless to say, the polish on my right hand does not match my left. The color on my left hand nails are not as vibrant and even as my right. I'm not sure if she was distracted and just didn't notice that she didn't put enough coats on some nails compared to others or not, and unfortunately I didn't notice until I got out into my car how uneven it turned out. Also, I noticed that they didn't sanitize their chairs or the color samples between clients which made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I made my appointment over the phone, showed up and picked my seat but still waited 15 min for anyone to get to me. They started the water running and the "bubble maker" popped off and wouldn't go back on so had to replace it. I think the gentleman that did my nails might've been having a bad day, but he barely greeted me and didn't speak the whole time. I got my nails done with my aunt & the guy who did my nails seemed like he was in such a rush & was very rough with my nail & my nails feel very sore now as a result in him rushing & he also only did 1 coat of white on my nails so they look very sheer in areas & unevenly painted he missed a few parts of the nail with the paint so I addressed it & he attempted to fix it but they look bad the shape is also to narrow & it looks like my nails are pointing upwards I definitely don't think that the work that was done was worth my $70 it's very disappointing I've never paid that much for a manicure before especially one that looks this bad. I came here about a month ago to get my nails done - and give Lubbock nail salons one more try -before I moved back to Dallas I came in on a quiet Wednesday morning with an appointment already booked. I got a fresh set for dip powder. I'll attach pics of what I got and what I asked for. (LOL) I never got the name of the man who did my nails... he was very eccentric with his pinky nail painted a bright color and his constant need to show me things off his phone as he was doing my nails. He was very extroverted, but almost to a default as he chastised me for my cuticles. I don't go to a nail salon to be told what's wrong with my hands. I go for a relaxing experience and to make myself feel better. Furthermore, I'm a firm believer in writing positive reviews unless I've just had a complete miss of an experience. And this was terrible. Not only did I not get what I asked for in regards to shape, I was there for over an hour and a half as this man picked up almost three phone calls and spoke for about 10 minutes each phone call. He spoke on the phone AS he worked on my nails. Not only do I find that VERY disrespectful, but I find it very unsanitary as he had no gloves on. My nails were thick and had bubbles in them. They were filed down until they were almost the length of my actual nail. He charged me $45 even though they apparently offer student discount, which I mentioned before paying that I am a student, and their menu lists a fresh set for dip powder being $40. I had nothing extra done. I still tipped him good and paid the amount, but I will NEVER return here and I will turn all my friends away from here. I've been out of the country and have just returned to really sit down and write my experience down; not out of anger but frustration with spending money on a nail job that made me really upset. Perhaps I just had a faulty experience and I do like to give businesses the benefit of the doubt.... but the unprofessionalism of this man was horrendous. read more

Came here last Friday, I live in dallas and was looking for a good nail place here in the LBK. I came in with my mom and my Nana. Let's talk about my nails first I got the dip and it wasn't shaven down enough so the look very thick and unnatural. Now for my nana, she got her pedicure and she said the massage and extras were good, but her polish didn't last long, it messed up after basically sitting at the salon for an hour (while she got here nails done) She wanted just a polish on her nail but the lady kept trying to up sell the gel saying it doesn't chip and it lasts longer, my nana kept saying no but eventually gave in. she has very bad arthritis and her hands are very big so her hands didn't fit in the machine that dries the nails, and the guy kept pressing him her hands to try and make them fit. Well long story short, her toes messed up and her nails chipped! NOT HAPPYYY ABOUT PAYING ALMOST $100 FOR HER ALONE AND IT DIDN'T EVEN LAST!!! As for my mom, she got the dip done and they look good. Her toes though are a different story, the color she picked was beautiful but the paint job was awful once we got into the sun we could see all the flaws. We didn't have time to stop and get all of the nails fixed because of a busy weekend. My cousin actually recommended Venus nail bar off Indiana and I guess I didn't pay attention and thought this was the place, next time we will go there. Also... if I had payed attention to the fish tank when I walked in I would have walked right back out, IT'S ABSOLUTELY FILTHY! Hopefully they clean their tools better than the fish tank. read more

I have been going here for manicures (dip) for several years. Kevin and Kayla do an amazing job with manicures and Lee does a fabulous job with pedicures. They recently added all new chairs for pedicures and new chairs and tables for manicures. It is very clean. The people are very friendly and the prices are reasonable. read more

I called around 9:40am scheduled an appointment for 10:20am with Kevin. I asked to remove my acrylics and dip on my real nails. Whole process took about an hour. Loved my nails! My total was $45! Over all great experience, everyone was super friendly and definitely recommend Kevin! read more

Update: Kayla did my nails for a wedding and they are perfect. I was there a good while, but she makes sure each nail is perfect. They don't rush you in and out...they see you as a person. She said they will last 3 weeks. Would go here again. Very happy! Kayla is a good person. I went here solely because of all the positive reviews others have written (and Taco Villa Happy Hour.). I was not sure what to expect. Kayla, who said she was the owner, became my technician. She was friendly, took her time, and made sure each nail looked good. She was willing to offer advice and didn't get mad when I was having a hard time deciding between two colors. Instead, she showed me how they would look once on my nail which made the decision simple. She listened to how I wanted them shaped. She also painted my toes ($10). Basic shellac is $25. This is a small shop (7 employees) which I liked. Maybe it's because they weren't super busy today, but I enjoyed not being herded in and out like cattle. Soft, relaxing music. I was offered water. Me and 2 other ladies went and i can say it was alright. I got really thick gel nails and ended up having damaged nails, cuticles, and multiple cuts on my fingers. I had my pinkie toe scraped that it burned to walk and i was left on my seat not knowing if i was done or not for my pedicure. Another Nail worker applied my finishing coat and gave me the slippers. My friends both had a different Nail tech that left their fingers in acetone for over 40 minutes while working on the other. Their nails were really thick as well. When we got up to pay, they didn't bother to tell us how much everything was until my friend asked and the nail tech checking us out got frustrated at her. Overall could've been a better experience, include prices for manicures like they do with pedicures. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. Even with a photo of very simple polish of 1 different color per mail they couldn't get it so I just said, "do them all the same color then." Also, I had made my appointment in advance and it took way to long. My appt was for nails and eyebrow wax. When I was finally finished with the super long horrible color nail portion, the lady who does waxing decided to go to lunch. I was NOT going to wait an extra hour for her to come back. This is my usual favorite lace but today did not live up to my expectations. The lady cut my toe then tried to stop the bleeding by spraying it with something that burned like crazy. So one toe has dried blood all around the nail bed and then the polish job was horrible. I'm guessing she was in a hurry since she spent so much time trying to stop the bleeding.
