We absolutely LOVE this place. Every dish we have tried we have enjoyed. It is bring your own bottle and the customer service is wonderful!

Sea Bass

Very good, family run restaurant. Menu has something for everyone with a very diverse menu. My personal favorite is the Sea Bass. If you like seafood, you cannot go wrong with this entree. Very friendly spot with attentive service. The desserts are not to be missed-especially the house made pies! Try this spot. You will not be disappointed!

6/23/23: Been wanting to visit for a while. Glad we finally did. The restaurant is very clean, and is much larger inside, than it appears from the outside. There is plenty of seating, and there is a section for private parties. Sofia was our hostess, and she was great. We had the Chicken fettuccini alfredo and the Stromboli meat lovers. Sofia offered an extensive list of deserts, and we took the Amaretto cheesecake to go. This is a BYOB restaurant. There were a couple of large parties, and while there was lively conversation, we were able to hear each other at our table. From ordering to our food arriving, there wasn't a long wait. The food was pretty good. We would visit again, especially, since it's close by.

The aroma of the bruschetta was phenomenal! The lobster ravioli was very tasty and creamy I had to lick the plate clean. Tiramisu was slightly frozen(Im not entirely sure if this is how tiramisu is usually served) but still tasted amazing. The complimentary bread served with salad and marinara sauce weren't so great. The marinara sauce tasted like ketchup and bread was ok. Food was a little overpriced! Otherwise, the service was amazing! Waiters and managers were kind. The restaurant interior has a very beautiful Italian theme. This is an authentic family owned restaurant which has been in business for +10 years. If you're in Dallas I suggest you go check this place out!

Usually love this place for delivery. Today it took an hour and a half after we ordered and was cold when it got here. Epic fail.

I don't normally crave pizza, but when I do, I want quality and this place nailed it! I enjoyed everything I ordered, but especially that pesto pasta!! I inhaled that and left no sauce behind. We arrived on time for our reservation and our table was waiting. One of my favorite cocktails is a Godfather but usually when I order it the server and/or bartender says "what is that?" Imagine my surprise when I saw this on the menu. So you can guess what I had to drink The Frittelle (zucchini fritters) were a great appetizer. I had the calzone, it was a good size and cooked well done (my preference). My husband had the Montanara pizza which they are known for. It has a flash-fried dough. He absolutely loved it. We were a party of 7 and needed the check divided but the waiter could not do it. I think we should have told him before we ordered (maybe). Should be accommodated.

The reviews les me to believe I was going to find an amazing restaurant in Aboca's Italian Grill,…read morebut my personal experience was something very average. Our experience started out on the wrong foot and did not get a whole lot better from there. The very pleasant person who greeted us told us to sit anywhere we like and she would follow us with menus. So, when we started to sit at a particular table a waiter flew across the room and told us,"No, not there, over here!". I guess he did not want us sitting at that table for some particular reason, but it was awkward at best, and unwelcoming. I am not one to usually play along with such games but for some reason I did this time, maybe because I have learned not to piss off people who are making my food. We ordered and I got the Aboca's Chicken, figuring a namesake dish would be a great choice. It wasn't. The garlic overpowered the other elements of the dish to the point where I could only eat a little less than half of it. Don't get me wrong, I love garlic, but this was too much. It was like the level of garlic where they might have forgotten they already put garlic in it and put more in...maybe even twice. Anyway, I don't regret trying the place, and I am actually glad I quieted some curiosities about the place, but this place is a one-timer for me

We started out with the fried burrata with arugula and tomato sauce. This was SPECTACULAR! Truly a five star dish and enough for two people to share. My husband had the puttanesca, which is one of our favorite dishes. I tried it, and it was wayyyyyy too salty. It was almost inedible. Anchovies and olives already have saltiness, so I think someone added too much salt to the salt itself. It was salt overload. I got a seasonal pasta with a spicy Vodka sauce. It was too spicy- but the saving grace of this meal was the appetizer. Next time I will stick to a tomato sauce dish. The pasta itself was great. It was very fresh and gratifying. The pasta dish was enough for 3 meals for me, which I think next time, we'll spirit an appetizer and a pasta dish. With the 2 main entrees, an appetizer and 2 sodas, it was nearly $70. Overall, it felt like it wasn't the best value. The food is high quality for sure, but the atmosphere and carboard bowls do not commensurate with the steep price.

Guys...what?? Whaaaat...?…read more The ratings for this place truly shock me. It's been a while since I've been to a restaurant where the Yelp rating so far exceeded the quality I experienced. We were there for a birthday dinner, bringing 11 people into a no-reservations restaurant on a Saturday evening. Gutsy? Maybe...except that we were the only people there at 6:30 pm, which was...odd, to say the least, for a Saturday evening. Then again, maybe not so odd, given the rest of the experience. First, I was carrying a boxed birthday cake. Should I have called ahead to ask if that was allowed? Yeah, probably -- but the plan HAD been to eat it at a food-friendly pottery painting place nearby. When that didn't happen for various reasons, I toted it along to the restaurant. Before I could even ask, the woman at the front of house (seemingly the owner? her kids were lounging restlessly in a booth in the corner) announced to me that they charge a PER-PERSON cake cutting fee. I was like um well I already spent $70 on this cake, so yeah, no thanks. I popped next door to Lockwood Distillery and asked them if we could eat our cake in there after dinner if I brought 10 alcoholics with me. They said sure. (Kudos, Lockwood, because they also serve food and desserts, but they ALSO apparently know how to seize an opportunity.) With the cake debacle behind us, we all sat down to look at the menu...which is when we realized that Farina In Grani doesn't appear to have a liquor license. The beverage menu was entirely non-alcoholic beers and wines, along with a sampling of sodas. So...that was kind of a bummer for a birthday dinner...but hey, the pizza was supposed to be good, so we stuck it out. (FWIW, I see another Yelp review describing the BYOB corkage fee as "ridiculous," so I can't imagine what they would have charged PER HEAD for cake cutting.) Well, then the pizza was...gosh there's just no way to put this nicely...it was bad. Tasteless dough that lacked the nice fluffy air pockets you want in a classic Neapolitan pizza crust. The tomato sauce was SWEET. It literally tasted like they'd added sugar to the tomato sauce. The spicy wagyu salami pizza thus had this weird sweetness to it that was in no way balanced by the very, very mild spice of the salami. The funghi pizza was so doused in fake truffle oil that it was almost sickening, and the cheese on that one was congealed in a way that was not at all appetizing. Someone near us ordered the Vesuvio, which came out with unmelted and seemingly pre-shredded cheese sprinkled on top. As for ambiance, there's a huge flatscreen TV that cycles through some of the most hilarious AI images of Italy...imagine yachts charging straight toward the shore; book pages flipping through glasses; etc. So at least that was good for a few laughs. Maybe it was just an off night, but between the ridiculous cake fee and the borderline inedible pizza, it was anything BUT a lovely birthday dinner for our sweet friend.

The chairs had medium-thick vinyl cushions with a semi-soft feel. Our server April, arrived promptly. I asked her a couple of questions about the menu and let know that we woiuld order when everyone else arrived. Bread and a garlic-olive oil sauce were brought out while we waited. I ordered the Bronzino, which is a European Sea-Bass. It comes with, pasta and a choice of House or Caesar Salad. I went with the House Salad and it was excellent. It was topped with fresh tomatoes, olives, onion, cucumber and a sweet, tangy vinaigrette. The bronzino can be seared, grilled, or baked; I chose grilled. It's served "floating" in a rich sauce with rice-shaped pasta and broccoli. The fish was flavorful, though a bit softer than I expect from grilled. I would've also prefered slightly less salt on the pasta, Overall I give Mangia's 4 stars for service, food, ambience, and decor. I'd definitly come back to try more of their many dishes.
