This place is about 8 miles out of my way but I make sure to order even I'm around that side of town. Humble, good food, good portions and about average prices. I love the buffalo chicken pizza and their calzone. It's a quiet sit down place, browns around, nothing else much to the dining area. Service is great, order has never been wrong and always friendly. So I've never been to this restaurant before and my co-workers were working in the area on Saturday. I looked up pasta locations in Richardson. This place popped up. I saw the pictures, and they looked pretty good. The reviews were good also. When we got to the location around 3 p.m., the place was pretty empty, and we were able to get 3 tables for around 11 or 12 of us, no problem. I ordered the all meat Stromboli, and some got fettuccine Alfredo, and another's got the New York style slices. The price was decent l. The staff was great and attentive.we got all our food fresh, and the Stromboli was the perfect amount of bread to filling, and it was pretty big. Everything looked and tasted fantastic. Hats off to the cook staff, and the flavors were great. I would definitely coke again for the pizza and Stromboli. Ordered a to go order for the first time.. here is my take. Food: Ordered a large pizza with 3 toppings along with chicken parm and eggplant parm. Pizza was really good the crust was amazing and perfect cheese to crust, sauce ratio. (True NY pizza) The Chicken parm & eggplant parm were the stars though... OMG so good, the sauce is 100% handmade and thick not at all watered down. The breading on both was crispy and light. The chicken was pounded thin as it should be. The eggplant was thick and fresh and not at all slimy. I really suspect the pasta is also handmade as is was chewy but al dente. Absolutely delicious! Cost: Inexpensive for the quality and taste Overall: Hands down the BEST pizza and pasta I have had here since living here in Dallas. I also ordered the Spinacci pizza which was loaded with spinach, artichokes, in a red sauce. The pizza was tasty and they made sure to load it up! I have come to this restaurant multiple times over the past few years, and the experience has been the same each time...stellar. So much to be said about service and quality food. If you're expecting a Michelin star, white glove experience then this won't meet that expectation; however, if you're interested in an affordable, high quality italian cuisine lunch or dinner, then you're in luck. This is the second time in a row where I've had terrible service. Today I went in and sat down with my son to wait for a table. A party that came after us were sat down before us. I didn't say anything. Finally the guy I originally spoke to about getting a table saw me and told the teen working there that I was there before them so he cleaned a table off and had me sit there. I waited a few mins and took my son to the bathroom and came back waited exactly 5 mins and decided to leave since there were no menus given or anything. The time before this we had been seated and waited and waited and no one came to take our drink orders.. same thing happened the tables who sat after us had drinks and orders taken before us. In the past couple weeks we've ordered from Schiano's Pizza. Will say that the pizza is fantastic; with the perfect level of crispness for the crust and quality ingredients for the pie. We recently returned from NY and it's been the closest to NY Pizza we've had in the area. Surely recommend it and love that they do serve pizza's by the slice on all days but Friday nights. Would give it 5 stars but we tend to get the pies pretty late compared to scheduled. Little over a week ago we placed an order for 4 pizza and was advised for delivery it would be between an hour and 90 minutes. We confirmed that it wasn't an issue, at all. If its later, let us know and we'll pick up. 110 minutes later we call for an update and are informed it would leave in the next 5-10 minutes. Sadly that means the pizza arrived well over 2 hours from the time we ordered them. read more

The Meat Eaters pizza was underwhelming. I expected there to be more meat based on the name. I had to look veeeeery closely to see the tiny bits of sausage. It was just like eating a pepperoni pizza. It wasn't as thin as I'd expect a "NY pizza" to be, but it could be because I ordered the Specialty Pizzas and not a regular "thin slice with cheese." Maybe you can't put toppings on thin pizza. I'm really not sure. They weren't rude, but just not that informative. I'll go back and order a thin slice and see what happens. The Pesto Pizza was really good though. Mushrooms, onions, cheese, and pesto (I got it without chicken.) It wasn't greasy at all (no napkins needed to blot off the top before eating...but maybe I'm the only person who does that). Make sure you order way ahead and call in to make sure its ready. Took my two slices of pizza 50 minutes to complete (was told 30-35 minutes). This is a little greasier and more tomato sauce than mimi's but it still satisfies. These are giant slices, and they get quite floppy. The crust was a lovely doughy texture that had a faint crispy surface on the bottom, but It never felt undercooked. The ingredients are average, but they still satisfy. This doesn't do well on the pizza stone, as it makes the crust brittle. The meat s are text book in taste and textute. Overall, a good pizza joint (especially with the lack of local pizza joints in this neighborhood). They do a decent job with their lisanti ingredients. read more

Much better now, It's all about using the best/the real authentic cheese, dough and customer service. The pie seems to taste much better. I recall the service could be a bit better due to management always wanting to argue. When they first opened the place the staff/management would become very arrogant and argumentative when you told them what and how you wanted your pie. I had to find out where she got this gem of a pizza so I could go enjoy myself. What an amazing discovery-I had a slice of the chicken Alfredo and the tomato/basil pizza. The chicken Alfredo was top notch, yummy to my tummy. I don't even like heavy Alfredo sauce! Hate it in fact because it's either too heavy with oil, too rich or too thick. This was perfect recipe cooked with perfection. Just the right amount of savory, garlic, herbs, and cheese, then topped with chicken breast that wasn't dry.
