Place appeared clean and fresh, new tables and chairs, smiling hostess seated us right away. Waitress was attentive and took great care of us. I ordered and meat lovers calzone. It was very tasty and the iced tea was refreshing, all was good until a huge roach strolled around the dining room. Appetite lost and meal was no longer enjoyable. Ugh ! Clean house Rocco. Just new tables and chairs may not be enough.

This was my first visit to Rocco's Italian Cafe and I have to say I was impressed from the start and the entirety of my visit met with being impressed. From my walk-in, the place looked pretty typical Italian-American restaurant. Stucco walls, a few Italian inspired pictures on the wall, a chalkboard or two of specials...you know the vibe. That would be the end of typical for my time here though. I was greeted and welcomed immediately upon entering. I was hungry, so thankfully I caught them at a time I could get seated immediately. After being seated, my server Victoria was at my table immediately and brought me freshly baked garlic rolls (delicious!). Her service was amazing throughout my experience! I ordered the Rocco's Trio...Beef Lasagna, a Meatball, and a giant Ravioli. Everything was great! As I said, it was my first visit, but I do not anticipate it being my last!

This is my 2nd visit to this restaurant. The 1st visit was at dinner and was nice and the food was decent. The 2nd visit was lunch and we were the only customers. Our drinks and orders had been taken and garlic rolls delivered, and then the roach appeared from the back room and walked across the entire floor. No need to critique the food or service, the roach did it for me. And yes I posted the picture.

So as I'm about to eat my left over pizza I had got hours prior I had seen a big spot on my pizza and I flashed my light on it and it was a ROACH ONNNNN THE PIZZA......I'm so sick to my stomach bc my whole family had that same pizza... I promise I won't eat here again........and mind you we had this pizza put in a closed container after eating it, this is not a water bug this is a dirty roach which mean the place isn't being well kept.

We went in and were greeted very friendly and cheerfully. Loved that, we seated ourselves and had the special read to us and bread brought out quickly. Placed our order and then I went to check out the bathrooms. I've learned from past experiences, to do this. As soon as I walked into the doorway leading into the bathrooms, the smell of sewage hit my nose. I went into the ladies bathroom and it was worse. Although the bathrooms were clean, the smell, was still there and stronger. There were large gnats everywhere. We left right after; better safe than sorry when it comes to food safety.

We went here for dinner on a Saturday night quite by accident. We could not decide where to go and the kid was insistent on having spaghetti with marinara sauce. The wife found Rocco's on Yelp and it had good reviews and was not too far, so off we went. My overall assessment is that this place is not quite a 5, but certainly is a strong 4.5. Parking is a bit tight but I found a place. Hint: do not park by the Wing Stop next door because the people who are getting takeout from Wing Stop will park behind you so you end up waiting for them to come out before you can leave. The ambience inside the restaurant is very attractive and old world Italy. Nice homey feel. The vibe is quiet and reserved. Most of the patrons were over 50, which is fine. I am just saying in case you are looking for boisterous. The beer selection is quite limited, our waitress mentioned only three and none was what I would normally drink. So I ended up with a Corona. We were given bread rolls with marinara sauce, and everyone liked them. The sauce was not sour or acidic. The kid had the spaghetti with marinara as she wanted and loved it. She is super picky but ate almost the entire bowl. The sauce was the same as for the rolls so it was not acidic. It was just $6.99. I had a 12 inch veggie pizza for $15.99. For some reason I thought it would be smaller, more like a personal pizza, but this one was large. Too much for one person. There were lots of toppings, very generous. The crust was crispy and the dough was obviously fresh. It was a good pizza although I would have liked a bit more sauce. My side salad ($3.99) had fresh, crisp lettuce and a sweet and tangy dressing. The wife had chicken marsala and really liked it. The chicken was tender and the sauce was very tasty. For dessert we shared a slice of cheesecake, which they make in house. It was excellent. Great flavor and texture, really really good. Overall, we had a very good meal. Service from Natalia was efficient and helpful. Prices are very reasonable. Food is very good. It does not quite hit my threshold for 5 stars, but we would definitely return. Plus, the kid loved it so that is an additional motivation.

I am just a sucker for this style spaghetti and meatballs.

I love wood burning oven because I like the Burt edged crust . We also had chopped salad. Our guest couple had the calamari and shrimp appetizers that were very good too. They decided to have shared a pasta dish, carbonara that they raved about. Our drinks were standard beers. All in all and very nice meal that we are happy to recommend.

The restaurant has a more upscale feel without being stuffy, with a warm ambiance, attentive service, and plenty of nearby parking, which makes the whole experience easy and enjoyable. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere struck a nice balance between casual and special occasion dining. My only complaint is the kids' menu. They offer kid-sized pasta options but surprisingly no kid-sized pizza at a pizza restaurant. It would be nice to have a smaller pizza option for little ones. Otherwise, a wonderful experience and definitely a place I'd return to.

Our experience started out on the wrong foot and did not get a whole lot better from there. The very pleasant person who greeted us told us to sit anywhere we like and she would follow us with menus. So, when we started to sit at a particular table a waiter flew across the room and told us,"No, not there, over here!". I guess he did not want us sitting at that table for some particular reason, but it was awkward at best, and unwelcoming. I am not one to usually play along with such games but for some reason I did this time, maybe because I have learned not to piss off people who are making my food. We ordered and I got the Aboca's Chicken, figuring a namesake dish would be a great choice. It wasn't. The garlic overpowered the other elements of the dish to the point where I could only eat a little less than half of it. Don't get me wrong, I love garlic, but this was too much. It was like the level of garlic where they might have forgotten they already put garlic in it and put more in...maybe even twice. Anyway, I don't regret trying the place, and I am actually glad I quieted some curiosities about the place, but this place is a one-timer for me

When I entered, I was rather uncertain. The space looks like a stereotypical pizzeria. I wasn't impressed at all, but I was too tired to leave. HOWEVER, my attitude quickly changed as I was greeted by the outstanding wait staff. Over the course of my visit, I was checked on several times by what seemed to be either the owners or managers. In the heart of a busy city, these men went the extra mile to make me feel like a welcomed guest in their home. It was a very nice experience. I ordered the lasagna on the server's recommendation. What a plate of food! The meat sauce was not skimpy at all....lots of beef and flavorful seasoning. The noodles were soft while still firm enough to maintain the shape. The generous portion and the really soft bread were a great dinner to bring a long day to an end. As a lover of Italian food, I plan to visit several area restaurants over this weekend.
