The quote was competitive. The team was fantastic. Delivered materials the day prior and showed up promptly to begin work. Everything went incredibly smooth--the crew finished by late afternoon. Mason was friendly, professional, and available for any and all questions. The biggest relief is knowing we went with an experienced roofer that guarantees the quality of their work with an outstanding warranty. We are so glad we went with them over other options in Frederick. Looking forward to not needing to replace this roof again!

Bottom line up front: Impact Roofing is not a company that takes hands-on pride of their work. They…read morewill send a team of people who barely speak English to do your project with no supervision. The company will go hands-off as soon as they get your deposit. I almost never write bad Yelp reviews and I have been sitting on writing this review for a while but I had to because I am still so upset with the quality of service. When giving me my estimate, they sent a real professional to actually survey the property, go up on the roof, take measurements, etc. I had a really good feeling about the company. However, the person who gave me the estimate quit the company and I was reassigned to someone else who never physically came by to see the property. On the day of the installation, the team that they sent had no familiarity with the specifics of the project (which was attic insulation, gutter installation and rain barrel installation). I had to explain everything to them all over again, like they'd never heard of it before. It didn't help that they didn't really speak English and I had to show them what a rain barrel was with hand gestures. The workers installed my backyard rain barrel backwards, and my front yard rain barrel upside down. They took bricks from another part of my yard to mount my rain barrel without asking. The worst part by far: One of the workers, without asking, cut down my Virginia creeper plant that I had been growing and training for three years. It covered the front of my house and attracted birds and butterflies in the spring. Now it's destroyed. There was literally no reason to do this, he didn't ask for permission or anything (he said "it's poison!" when I asked why he did it; it's not, it's a harmless native plant). My house used to be unique, now it looks like every other house on the block. This last offense was intolerable, I called the company and demanded they sent someone down. They ultimately discounted the project by $2600, which was fine but did not compensate me for my loss. This was the first time any supervisor actually came to the property. It was clear the supervisor didn't know the workers at all, and he couldn't communicate with them any better than I could. The management had no interest in coming by to check work after it was complete, either. I had to reach out to them to request that they do so. They were perfectly content to just let their workers do it and leave for the day. Ultimately, they did the job that was on the contract, hence the two stars: they insulated my attic, installed gutters, and installed rain barrels. But everything else was a terrible experience. I wish I could undo hiring them in the first place.

I hired Mr. Delmas Moreland from Moreland's Guttering in Winchester, VA to install new gutters and…read moredownspouts on a second home that I own. The morning of June 17th, 2021, he did the installation. Later that day I stopped by the property and was shocked that several areas looked very unprofessional. That afternoon I called Mr. Moreland and we had a conversation. Initially, I calmly explained why I was dissatisfied. Mr. Moreland became incredibly angry and condescending. At the end of the call, he said to me, "you are about the most ignorant person I've ever heard, goodbye" and then he hung up. Befittingly, I don't want to have him and his personality on my property ever again. I legally recorded our conversation on June 17th, and it is proof of what happened. I took pictures of the worst looking portions of the work done. The pictures have been reviewed by individuals experienced with professional gutter installations, and they agree with my reasoning for being unsatisfied. To see reviews of the work done, based on the pictures, click on this link to Quora. https://www.quora.com/Do-the-linked-photos-show-professional-guttering-I-posted-this-question-before-but-pictures-were-not-accessible-I-had-gutters-installed-on-my-house-recently-The-gutter-company-said-that-I-have-an-old-house-and-that If you didn't see the pics on Quora, click on the following link to view them. Double-click on each photo to see it fully. https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1fkHTcSidzPFCtwUBkruBIMmenhLDTnIx What I find odd is that Moreland's Guttering has mostly complimentary reviews on the internet. However, if Delmas Moreland responds to complaints from some customers the way he did for me, I can understand why those customers may be intimated enough to avoid any further interaction with him and avoid giving him a negative review. I certainly hope that sharing my experience with Moreland's Guttering will keep others from having to go through what I did. No one should have an inferior gutter installation and then have severe intimidation tactics used against them. That may be why you don't see many negative reviews from unsatisfied customers. I believe Delmas Moreland saw me as an old man, with an old beat-up truck, wanting gutters installed on an old house. I think that may be part of the reasons why he didn't see the need to do a professional job or treat me respectfully. Furthermore, I don't believe he was aware that the work he did wasn't at my residence. On July 30, 2021, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). As of September 18, 2021, Mr. Moreland has totally ignored two separate requests from the BBB trying to mediate my complaint. Why is that, especially if he thought he did a professional and respectful job? He knows what he did and made no attempt whatsoever to account for his work and behavior. You only need to look at my pictures and documentation to understand why multiple sources have concluded the same I have. Additionally, Moreland's Guttering from Winchester, VA has a poor rating of D+ on the Better Business Bureau's website. If you want to read an entertaining letter dated June 29, 2021, that I sent to Mr. Delmas Moreland of Moreland's Guttering, a link to it is below. It clearly shows the absurdity of Mr. Moreland's claim that he did the best he could do. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1fkHTcSidzPFCtwUBkruBIMmenhLDTnIx?usp=sharing He didn't respond to my letter, just as he didn't respond to the BBB's repeated attempts to mediate. Why is that? I suggest you stay far, far away from Moreland's Guttering.
