Yup. Better than others so far. Cute, busy, efficient, most of all - good gelato. Maybe not a warm process - but not overly sweet. I would go again if offered. Flavors were understandable - good variety.

There's actually a Venchi nearby my home, but the line is always long so I've never went. This Venchi was located quite close to our hotel, so we decided to check it out before heading back for a hotel break. They're located on quite a busy street, so it took about 20 mins to order. There aren't as many flavors as other gelato shops, but they do offer plant based flavors if you have dietary restrictions. I went with the pannacotta al carmello and mango flavors. The gelato was enjoyable, especially since it was quite hot that day. We finished it on the side of the street, you gotta eat it fast before it melts! Overall, the gelato was delicious and they have a couple more locations throughout Rome, so you can go to the one most convenient for you.

Really good chocolate! I wanted to come back not for the gelato, but for their chocolate bar with hazelnuts and their chocolate with pistachio, peanuts, and hazelnuts. The Venchi near Da Fortunato did not have good service as no one offered ice cream just watched me move about. However, the store is pretty and big with tons of chocolate/sauces. A lovely chocolatier and very pretty with bright lighting. The Venchi near the Spanish steps was super busy and much smaller with not as many options.

The only place in Rome I made it a point to stop by. I am fully aware this place is a chain, and possibly not authentic Italian...But I loved their parmigiano reggiano & olive oil gelatos. I don't love super sweet things, and both the olive oil and parm were perfect for me. Balance of salt and sweet.

It's one of the chocolate and gelato chains in Italy. The big chocolate fountain behind the counter is quite impressive. I've tried their gelato flavors of the most popular one PISTACCHIO, and two chocolates BRUTTO & BUONC MILK CHOCOLATE & HAZELNUT, and NOUGATINE 77% EXTRA DARK CHOCOLATE & CARAMELIZED HAZELNUT. It's relatively pricier than other chains, overall they give you smaller portions and it costs about €5 for three flavors.

Amazing service, even better hot chocolate! I picked out a gift to bring home to the family, and as I was browsing, was given chocolate to try - staff was super friendly. Grabbed the dark hot chocolate on my way out and soooo glad I did. It's super decadent - thick, dark chocolate topped with the fluffiest whipped cream and more chocolate. Fav thing I've had on this trip so far.

Incredible yummy! Got piccolo size with chocolate nutted cone and tried the flavor of mascapone fici and stracciatella and ther were so good! Long line in holiday. My kids got theirs and were happy with the tastes. Patient staff but one of them a bit controlling. Great service and product. Loved my first Venchi experience. Cool spot! Looked super busy so we decided to give it a shot. When there is a long line, usually that's a sign that this is a place you want to check out. The wait wasn't too bad, I'd say 15 minutes total in line, which wasn't too bad considering there was 30-40 people ahead of us. When we got closer we got to see everything that they had and they have everything you can think of. It looks like they hand dip the cones and add nuts right on the spot which was cool. You get your choice of cone or cup and then your choice of chocolate on top of the gelato. I got the Venchi cream and hazelnut (not pictured) and my girlfriend got the chocolate and stracciatella (pictured). Mine was ok but didn't seem worth the hype. I did love the cone with the chocolate inside but I was a little disappointed when I saw that other people got the choose whether they got nuts on the cone and which chocolate cup they got on top and we didn't. Also they skimped me on my second flavor but I didn't want to make a big deal about it. This place seems like a cool spot and might be better on a warm day and with better service. We felt like it was a little over hyped but glad we got to experience it either way. We would come back but to try some other flavors in the future.

We came across this gem on our way to the Trevi Fountain. Amazing to see a chocolate wall and the selection of chocolates they had. They only accept cash - and there's a bank and ATMs right outside, across from them. Customer service was nice, they held out boxes of chocolate while we went to get some cash.

A huge wall with chocolate flowing down it? Is it sanitary? Does it run 24/7 Does someone eat it eventually? Whatever the answers may be, it is mesmerizing to look at and you can't not buy some goodies at this dessert shop. The interior is golden with a Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory vibe. The gelato is on point and one of the best in the city. Don't miss out on this specific Venchi location!

We stopped at the Venchi not far from Trevi. I've been to other locations and had much better experiences. We ran in to get some chocolates and the sales associate was so aggressive. He kept giving us random recommendations that didn't align to what we were saying we liked. As we checked out, we decided to add on gelato because you can skip the main line and go to a second, shorter line. The person working there was so slow though so getting to the shorter line wasn't that much of an advantage. Venchi, in general, is worth checking out, especially if you have dietary restrictions as they have a lot of options. I would recommend a different location though!

Very cool looking place that draws you in. There are many of these shops around especially in the bigger cities. It's hectic and not super clear how the process works though you figure it out quickly: order the size from the first person and get your ticket/receipt then you jockey for position with the folk that will scoop it for you. The gelato was good though not incredible. Something to check out if you're in the area for sure. read more

The gelato here was amazing! It's a very nice shop as you walk in you see a chocolate wall which looks pretty cool. I got the mango and raspberry sorbet and it was delicious. The line was a bit long but not because of the workers mostly the crowd that seemed a confused about what they wanted. Overall, a great experience. read more

There are a few venchis around the area, and all of them had a line whenever I passed them by. Just walking past the restaurant you can smell the chocolate waffle goodness. They have gelato as their main fresh seller, but they also have very nice chocolates and spreads for purchase near the register. They have a dark chocolate and hazel nut spread which is not something you can get everywhere, and variety of chocolate of different flavors. If you visit Rome, I suggest checking this place out! read more

This is my second time at Venchi but this is at a different location in Rome. Again, I was not disappointed! The staff at this location also seem to go the extra mile as this time, I was given a chocolate on top of my gelato. This location doesn't have the chocolate wall though so go to my reviews and go to that location if you'd want to see the chocolate wall. Either way, both are great! read more

The first things that grabs your attention in this place is the wall of cascading chocolate. That alone will entice you to buy something anything from here. I got the tiramisu and cappuccino cup while my wife settled for the Brutto Ma Buono and Stracciatella cone. We went at night so the lines was a little more manageable. We also brought along some chocolate and truffles back home with us. The flavors we got were great except the cappuccino. I wouldn't recommend it. read more

Walked by this place several evenings and the lines were always long. The place is amazing to see but I felt not worth waiting in line for, considering there are many places for gelato in the area. One late morning we walked by the place and there was no line. We figured now is our chance to see what all the commotion is about. I can see why long lines form outside of this place. Long lines and a little pricier than other gelato places, but definitely worth the wait. The ordering process is a tad confusing and they do not really tell you what to do or where to go. Basically you order your size and pay first, then you wait in another line to pick your cone and gelato flavors. There is also a separate line for those just buying chocolate and souvenirs. My go to flavors here are the hazelnut and coconut. If you can get through being in line with a bunch of tourists, I recommend giving it a try! read more

My husband reminded me of this gelato place. Seriously one of the best gelato in Rome. The smell of chocolate permeates the entire block and it's just short of intoxicating upon entering. Get a cone and get that cone Nutella lined. Amazing I recommend getting a bag of chocolates to go. I especially loved the early grey filled chocolate and orange ganache. So amazing read more

This is the most marvelous Venchi location that we visited. The entire wall behind the counter seems to be cascading with chocolate sauce. It's quite a sight. They have a tremendous selection of gelatos and chocolate delights. We picked up a few chocolate treats including a chocolate truffle. All of them were rich. Some milky while others a bit more bitter, but all of them were delicious. We also had one of their hazelnut gelatos along with a raspberry sorbet. Their frozen treats are outstanding as well. All in all, it's certainly amongst one of the best places for dessert and sweet treats. read more

so In love with this place! Their gelato is amazing. I got the chocolate and nut lined cup with dark chocolate and strawberry gelato. You have to book a trip and go here on your first day. You will try other gelatorias but they won't compare. Every bite was so incredible. I was licking the cup. I bought some chocolates to take home. So glad I did. We cannot wait to go back to Roma. The staff were so nice to us Americans. The place is so awesome. You feel like royalty walking in. read more

This is the best gelato. I couldn't stop eating it. This was the carrot we used to motivate the tired kids in our group: if they would go sightseeing, we would get them Venchi gelato. But this loocation was the worst. Most crowded. Had to wait forever. Mad house. If you must, go here, but try alternative locations. Visited 30 June 2017. read more

Yes there will most likely be a line but when you see locals line up, you know it's worth it. They have amazing flavors, variations of chocolate since they are a chocolate store as well but they also have few fruit flavors. They'll make crepes. And the reason tit may take a bit as the server swirls the ice cream to smoothen it out then carefully tops it on your cone. It's amazing. The waiters told me to come here so deal with the lines and you won't be disappointed!! read more

We were looking for some ice cream and the big water fall behind the counter got our eye. This is the only ice cream place in Rome with a line, but it moves fast and it's well worth it. This place knows how to make ice cream! I got a piccolo cone with caramel and a hazelnut/chocolate mixture. A must-have when in Rome. Right next to the incredible Trevi fountain so you can have a treat while enjoying the view. The line was out the door, but service is quick as there's plenty of servers. There's over a dozen different flavors of gelato to choose from. If chocolate is your thing, which is what Venchi is known for, then you don't even have to wait in line as you can choose what you like and head right to the registers. There's lots of dark chocolate and milk chocolate to choose from. read more

The chocolate is gahhhhAMAAAAZING I'm so sad I didn't purchase more!! This reminds me of that creamy Godiva finish in chocolate but better. I chose mostly milk chocolates in my clear bag assortment where the chocolate is weighed by pound and they were so good!! Andrea helped us and he was such an amazing person! He was very knowledgeable on chocolate. I doubt this company's employers read their yelp reviews but if you guys do he was awesome. Hopefully you yelpers get assisted by him so you can also have an amazing experience! read more

Venchi just may have been my fave gelato place in Italy...and that's saying a lot. Venchi is in a number of Italian cities, and their gelato was consistent, store to store. The chocolate gelato flavors are always my real test and they passed with flying colors. They also have great little gifts to bring back home, including gourmet chocolates and hot chocolate packets. You can even buy a cute insulated Venchi white tote bag, so you're chocolates don't melt before getting them home. read more

I brought my family here a few years ago to visit the Vatican and their ice cream became our daily obsession. The flavors are delicious and they let you sample a few flavors if you're unsure. Honestly can't go wrong but my favorite is the gianduja (including the mini chocolate bars that I brought as gifts/souvenirs but unfortunately ended up in my belly instead). read more

I'm "supposed" to prefer the local gelato places that use the…read morelittle metal containers that hide the product, not some foreign mega brand that puts bigass visible trays of gelato in front of tourists... BUT: I was on a mission, and that mission was to find the best dark chocolate gelato in Rome, and somehow this place caught my eye, with its super dark gelato flavors. So I gave it a try... and wow. Mission accomplished. They have a few flavors here that are truly special that I could not find elsewhere in Rome... or at least not a version as good as the versions we had here. I got a three flavor cup, and both the "dark / noir" and the "coffee chocolate" (or some Italian word for that) were amazing. I forget what the third one was. What about the other Lindt products in this store? I have no idea. I stopped buying Lindt chocolate ever since the doses I picked up at Safeway in the states failed to make it past the first round of my taste tests.

Inside there are many choices for dessert, all of them nicely decorated and great tasting. Past the front section where you can purchase gelato and dine-in desserts, there are huge bins full of their signature candies (truffles and more) that you can mix and weigh yourself. If you are a chocolate lover, this is a good place to check out. It is sure to satisfy any sweet tooth. My only gripe is that the fruity candies (chews, gummies, etc) are not very tasty... but hey, they are known for chocolate so that's alright with me.
