Great drinks, friendly service, space very VERY cozy... 3 stars bc it is soooo small and overcrowded. I like to enjoy a drink without people breathing right on my face. All the stars go to the bartenders and the drinks. read more

Delicious drinks! So many unique offerings! This is the trendiest little bar in Bend in my opinion. Fun atmosphere for a date or drinks with friends. Only downfall is seating is pretty limited so it can be tough to find a space when it's busy. read more

Best place in town! Really good food and awesome drinks. Great location downtown and easy walking distance for bar hopping if it gets too crowded. I would of gave 6 stars but wasn't an option ;) read more

Velvet - Whiskey Sour - Lounges Near Me - Bend, Oregon

Super small, but intimate. The blue velvet is a super tasty cocktail. I personally would never go there on Friday or Saturdays due to the limited space and overcrowded feeling read more

Amazing drinks, and the happy hour is awesome! We always come here when we make a trip to bend!

If I could give negative stars I would! Do NOT go to Velvet for a good time! Don't waste your money!!

Velvet easily made it's way into our regular rotation of Bend establishments. The food was exceptional. Basically, you just order one of everything (almost kidding): - duck samosas - prosciutto-wrapped mushrooms (no glutens) - pulled port tacos - baked brie with mango chutney (great if you just want to split one item between you) As for drinks, they know how to make legit cocktails (the menu is extensive) but also perfectly execute you favorites (Negroni, Manhattan, etc.) I also can't think of a visit where we haven't met a new friend or group of friends after a few hours here. read more

such a cute bar, very well decorated with a variety of seating options from couches to high tops. love the vibe and atmosphere here, it's a good place to relax over some drinks alone or with friends! friendly bartenders and they have some fun and unique cocktails on their menu. read more

Went to this loungy Bar last night. Loved the late night snacks and the bartender. He had lots of tips about the local area and since we are considering becoming "Bendites" soon, his advice was great. Great for cocktails and a decent selection of beers. Not so good for Wine. Love the atmosphere at Velvet. Will definitely be back. read more

Very cool tiny bar in the heart of downtown Bend. Different beers upstairs and downstairs! We went there on the Saturday before Halloween and it was pretty pretty pretty good. Kinda liked the upstairs vibe better. Will return fo sure. read more

Always a good experience at this bar, wonderful bartenders, great drinks, and superb vibes. One thing that really stands out to me is the food and the man behind the food! That being James, he serves amazing and delicious food. I can say 9 out of 10 times the allure for my visit to velvet is to get served up some food by James--it's that good! And not only is the food good but James has an awesome attitude every time I've spoken with him and really adds to the overall experience at this bar. I would recommend anyone to visit this bar for the genuine employees, a good time, and more specifically the delicious mushrooms or asparagus and a good chat with James. read more

Great drinks with some more unusual ingredients, friendly bartender, really cool ambiance. Will definitely return next time in Bend.

Cute little spot. Bartender was very friendly and made a fantastic old-fashioned. Highly recommend stopping here for a drink in Bend!

Great bar, fun drinks. Grab the house whiskey drink, you won't be disappointed. Atmosphere is terrific.

Great place to grab a cocktail before or after dinner. The vibe here is very chill and cozy that makes you want to sit on the couches all evening sipping a martini. read more

Upon entering, this place reminded me of an updated version of Jamie Sommers' apartment from the Bionic Woman (circa 1978); hanging plants, rustic furnishes, lots of wood, and stairs. The only thing missing was a fireplace and a brass bed. I was smitten immediately! We sauntered over to the downstairs bar and I ordered an Old Fashioned. We chatted up the bartender about Bend, gay bars, bedtimes, and doormen. She made a damn good cocktail. The lightening in this place was perfect, not too dark, and just bright enough. I'd like to hire the person that did it to do our house. There were tables with stools, and sofas upstairs and down, with plenty of comfy pillows. We were there early and the crowd got younger as the night progressed. The only negative were the young dudes out front smoking up a storm. They had the door open and they were standing less then a foot away from it. The smoke was coming into the bar. I've always liked the name Velvet. My sisters used to have a doll named Velvet,w and they would let me play with her every once and awhile. She had blonde hair that you could adjust length of with a dial on her backside. She had a sister named Cinnamon, another good name for a bar. Highly recommend, the bar, and the doll. read more

Velvet - This way - Lounges Near Me - Bend, Oregon

After checking in at our hotel, we made our way downtown and discovered the 3-day Flashback Cruz was in progress and the evening's activity involved 250 classic vehicles cruisin' down Wall Street. On entering we were surprised to find the lounge empty, but shortly after settling in we realized many people were purchasing beverages and bringing them outside to enjoy while watching the Flashback Cruz. We decided to sit on the second level where I ordered a Moscow Mule and my wife a Blue Velvet, both were good but we decided to change drinks in mid happy hour and ordered glasses of a Ravenswood cab/merlot blend on the second round. Our servers were very cordial and we found the interior provided a fun atmosphere. read more

Sweet location and fun ambiance. This is a cool bar with decent drinks. I would stop through again for sure! The staff was very sweet and let us know when a table opened up upstairs even though it is first come first serve. It was much appreciated and they were doing a great job with regulations when they were allowed to be open. read more

Walked into this place wondering what could be in store. We went upstairs and ordered wine. We also ordered a few various appetizers. The sausage skewers were excellent with a bit of spice in the sauce. The bartender and our waitress were wonderfully cordial. Ended up being a nice place to spend an hour with friends. read more

I love love love velvet. Vaughn is my favorite waiter and makes the best cocktails. The only negative to Velvet is that they're always crowded, but that's just because they are so great. Velvet has unique drinks and has a whole selection of Yerba mate drinks which are great and I love! read more

I visited here a while ago and the drinks were amazing don't get me wrong but overhearing the racial slurs and remarks from the workers/guests was upsetting so I'm going to have to give this 2 stars. If you want to have a good drink then this is the place but unfortunately if you're of Latinx or Native descent and have tanner skin tones then I do not recommend this place unless you're okay with people being racist. read more

Such a fun night out at this place. The bartender, Vaughn, went above and beyond for our group and made me a hot drink because it was so cold out. The bouncer was a sweetheart as well, it was so cozy and welcoming. read more

A fun place to grab a cocktail, if you can get it. It is a very small place, but thats what adds to the experience/vibe there. If you can catch it during a non crazy busy time, they actually have some great bar bites! read more

Drinks were great! Unique, tasty, delicious. Ordered two food items which were hit/miss. The queso was odd, like a curdled cotija with the consistency of dried cottage cheese that tasted ok but not the best, would not order again. The duck samosa was pretty good. Interior design was extremely cute. Very cozy up on the second floor. read more

A must stop on any weekend. Reasonable prices on drinks and appetizers. The stuffed bacon wrapped mushrooms are my favorite! My wife likes the Yamajitos. It is small inside and can get crowded, but that's when it is the most fun! read more

Never been to Bend before and this was the first place I went to. Super chill vibes. Had the ginger sour, which was quite tasty given that I had him make a double. Pork tacos were good, but the duck samosas were bomb.com I encourage finding a place to sit and chill upstairs. Nice big couch action. read more

Intentionally eclectic Yet again a solid variety of cocktails in a Bend bar The Blue Velvt was smooth, slight edge from the tea and just enough fruit tones from the blue berries Quite Thursday evening .... Enjoyable read more

I would've liked to give 3.5 stars. The food, andouille sausage skewers and queso fresco, was delicious, but the drinks, which is why we came, were average. I had the rosemary rickey, and my husband had the 805 sazerac. We both had the same reaction after our first sip - it tastes watered down. Admittedly, we're somewhat cocktail snobs, but we weren't fans of nice cocktails in mason jars. We would've preferred less or no ice, less volume with more flavor, and a chilled glass appropriate for the drink. The ambiance is good, the bartender was friendly, and the music was great. read more

Loved this place!! Staying in Bend overnight and wanted something cool...this place fit the bill to a T. Food was excellent. We had BLT sliders, brie, apricots wrapped with bacon (OMG...to die for!), and the sausage. The atmosphere is funky and fun. Definitely two thumbs up. read more

Pretty busy on a Monday night. People were dancing upstairs as we found a corner table downstairs. Lots of cozy nooks to lounge with friends. Service was quick. Food was great. We ordered a few of the tapas style plates for dinner. The tofu sliders and mushrooms were our favorite. Drinks were good but tasted as they had too much of a soda/filler that muted some of the flavor profiles they were trying to highlight. read more

So Bend is rad. I love the mountains and the outdoor adventures and the people that these opportunities attract. I love craft beer and I love drinking it with my bearded brethren, united by our taste for hops and our REI memberships. But sometime I just want a fucking cocktail. Thank god for Velvet. From what I've experienced, this is my favorite place in Bend to get a proper drink, surrounded by people who might have stopped for a shower in between their trip from Mt Bachelor to the bar. The decor is appropriately outdoorsy and utterly Oregon, with oodles of reclaimed wood, antler chandeliers and drinks served in mason jars. The lights are dim and sexy, with music to match. Unlike some other spots in town, Velvet doesn't feel like a small town bar pretending to be a big city club. No, it feels perfectly suited to the people of Bend, when they want to put away the cargo shorts and throw on a nicer shirt. I love it. The beer list is surprisingly small for Bend, but I feel like that's maybe their way of drawing a line in the sand and proclaiming exactly what they want to be. The cocktail list, however, is ample. And with drinks hovering around $8, it's definitely reasonably priced. I had the 805 Sazerac made with Bulleit rye, Angostura bitters, simple syrup and an absinthe rinse. And let me tell you what, it was grrrrrreat. Yeah they serve food. No, I didn't eat any. What's it to ya? Every time I visit Bend I stumble across a place that I insist on checking out on all future trips. Velvet has made that list. I'll see you all soon! read more

This is my go-to when I feel like hanging out with a pretty decent cocktail. I love anything with the acai in it! The bartenders are pretty nice! Its smaller so sometimes its hard to find a place to sit. They generally have decent beer deals. All in all pretty cool spot. read more
