What a wonderful and peaceful space! So many ways to relax and refresh the body. I tried both the infrared sauna and ionic foot bath! The sauna is so fast and simple. Come as you are... shoes off and step into this 1/2 sit sauna (see picture). You don't have to worry about changing clothes or showering after! If your days are busy this sauna is a quick go to! The ionic foot bath has been a favorite of mine for years. At VELOCITY you can relax outdoor in a shaded space on comfy couches with a easy breeze! I was so happy catching up with a friend and feeling refreshed at the same time! THANK YOU VELOCITY! I'll be going back soon to try something else very soon! read more

I know it's really weird to go see a chiropractor for acne issues but with a friend's recommendation, I did. Dr. Mike was able to use his methods to detoxify the toxins that were causing my acne problems. After continuous sessions, I notice that my skin conditions improved and I feel better overall. The treatments require patience. I've been going to him for a little over a month and I notice about a 50% improvement. I'm going to continue to go and will probably write another review when it's all gone (fingers crossed). The method composed of cold laser, detoxifying foot bath, and taking supplements. I think it's almost like Chinese acupuncture and herbal soup treatments except I think it's better cause vitamins taste better those herbal concoctions. Also, I think with cold laser, the treatment actually works faster. Optional Review Reading: Just wanted to give some background on some of the treatments that I went through in the past. First it was antibiotics prescribed by my dermatologist. It worked in the beginning but stopped working once I stopped taking it. So, he recommended that I take Accutane. OMG. That stuff sucks!!! Do not take it. I really ruins your liver. He wanted me to do another round of Accutane but I said no because my cholesterol shot up and my liver indexes were off the charts. It also did a number on my digestive system. I thought that I can live with my acne and my health was actually more important. After the Accutane treatment, my acne actually became worse than before the Accutane treatment :( As for the external stuff, I used Proactiv, it worked the first two months and somehow my skin got used to it and it stopped working on me. I also used Retinol A which just made my skin super sensitive. I still get laser facial treatments to get rid of some of the surface acne and scars. Anyway, adult acne sucks and is probably one of the hardest things to treat because different people have it for different reasons. But by far, I think Dr. Mike's methods has been the safest way to address acne issues. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Mike for over six months with a chief complaint that extends into the rest of my health which is Post-Traumatic Stress from my experiences in war. Twice a week every week since October, I've never walked out of the office feeling under-treated. In fact, I leave the treatment room with clarity and hope for a better day because of the physiological changes that Dr Mike provides through his holistic approach. In my opinion, Dr. Mike is a caring, direct and involved doctor to where I have even accepted him as a mentor. Financially, he has taken into consideration my individual position and has worked with me to get the best value while still being affordable and if you feel cheated or "scammed", its your own fault for not being clear about the terms and asking the important questions because its your money that you're investing. I believe in his approach so much that I have referred four of my closest friends who also see him for their individual needs and are also satisfied. In retrospect, brig treated by Dr. Mike isn't just cracking necks and backs, it's a total awakening of the inner self in order to become more self-resourceful and empowered. Mahalo! read more

Happy Patient Since June 2012. When I first saw Dr. Mike it was shortly after the birth of my son. My newborn son and I both went in to be readjusted after the birthing process and have been patients ever since. Dr. Mike has assisted in balancing my hormones as well as becoming more centered and grounded physically, mentally, and emotionally. I have a possible seizure disorder, Dr. Mike has been with my family and I every step of the way through this process. He has, and still treats me for my stress and anxiety which has significantly lowered since becoming his patient. Dr. Mike is always available to help with even the most unusual or mundane questions. To Dr. Mike, no question is a bad question; he truly cares about the whole wellness of his patients. Beyond chiropractic adjustments, Dr. Mike has helped me with acidosis, detoxifying, hormone balancing, parasite removal, calming my central nervous system, reducing stress and anxiety, as well as getting not only more sleep, but REST! When I was a new patient I had extreme full back pain, and was on some serious pain medications. After a brief amount of time I was able to get off pain medication fully, all thanks to the care of Dr. Mike. Dr. Mike offers a FANTASTIC low monthly payment plan that allows me to see him twice a month. I am a cash patient and his concern for making health care affordable to his clients is such a blessing. My family and I are VERY thankful for Dr. Mike. I cannot say enough about how Dr. Mike has positively changed my life. I refer everyone I know to him, even strangers. read more

For many years, I thought the only intent for chiropractors was to break someone's back. I was wrong! Visiting Dr. Mike is a treat. Every time I'm there, he educates me with any type of question that I have in regards to health. He'll literally break down the process of X Y Z, with his white board to help you fully understand your problem (if any). I like how he'll help you fix your problem; but more importantly make sure you're okay for the long haul (your future), and to live a long healthy life. Recently, I had injured my glutes really bad where I was barely able to walk. I gave Dr. Mike a visit, and he was able to fix me up quickly! He gave me tips on how to prevent that injury in the future! I just like the fact that he's not your typical doctor where they'll just give you medicine and make you go home. He'll guide you through on how to maintain a healthy life (as long as you want it) read more

I'm a post collegiate track and field athlete who started seeing Dr. Mike in February of 2014. Overall I didn't feel I particularly needed treatment but saw him for an adjustment because chiropractors have never steered me wrong. After doing some tests he showed me how MESSED UP my leg and spine were, I had no idea but he said I was functioning at around 60% of what I should be in terms of bodily strength and explositivity. After doing resistance exercises to both of my legs and arms it became painfully obvious how right he was. He adjusted me and I immediately noticed a difference in how my body felt and functioned. The very next day I had a track meet down in UCSD and felt amazing I literally had my best competition EVER following Dr. Mike's methods of treatment. On another occasion with a dislocated shoulder he helped fix it within a couple of sessions and got it back to functioning pain free again. There have been many things he's helped me fix in my body. Dr. Mike is a practitioner that prioritizes health through holistic means (mental, chemical, bodily, hormonal, etc.) And cares deeply about each and every patient he treats. In my opinion he is what every health care subscriber should strive to be and you absolutely can't go wrong by going to him. I refer the athletes I coach to him and highly recommend him. read more

Doctor Mike is amazing. I have been seeing him for over 5 years after the birth of my first son. He is friendly, very caring and a GREAT doctor. He studies overall holistic healthcare and can assist with more than simply chiropractic adjustments. He has made a commitment to his patients that surpasses any other chiropractor I have seen. I would HIGHLY recommend his practice to anyone needing care. 5 STARS!!! I trust him to care for my mother, nanny, sons and close friends. read more

Fantastic Doctor and office staff! Always treated with respect and care. I came to Dr. Mike's office sick and in pain. After our first session the pain completely subsided. My health has improved over the past year and a half. Now my wife and daughter also get adjustments. I have referred many people to Dr. Mike and will continue to do so. If you're looking to improve your lifestyle visit Dr. Mike. read more

This is a very satisfied review that's a year late - my apologies :) Went to see Dr. Mike on the strong reco of a long time church friend. Had what I was then told by my GP & 2 other local chiros to be a frozen shoulder. GP suggested and gave me a cortizone shot (in the WRONG place that obviously did not work). 2 other chiros basically gave me a presentation. Almost like designing a recipe for me before they even knew much about what ingredients I had on hand. Not thrilled to drive down to Irvine (thankfully really busy with work in Chino Hills.) He didn't do an x-ray (saved me a few bucks from those that did). He did ask a lot of questions, and poked and prodded me. He makes a startling comment, saying even though it was my right shoulder hurting, the problem was my left which had shut down and was temporarily sending it over to the other side (his words were more exact, that's my layman's memory of it). For over half a year I could barely lift my right arm above my legs, imagine it pointing down at 6 o'clock and only going up to 4 o'clock. Could barely & painfully flop my right arm around my guitar! In the same session, I was able to bring it up to almost 2 o'clock! The weeks went by and the pain did jump sides. He did say it would take longer, it did, but I'm pretty much back to 95%. My wife has scoliosis, and her weekly adjustment is always a big help. By the way, if you're a cash patient, highly recommend the family plan. Downside is the upfront chunk payment for the year. But you'll save a lot, and it really is for everyone for your family. Have referred him out to anyone who has a potential need. And just told him about my neighbors. Definitely worth the spine-punishing and posture-wrecking 45 minute drive down to Irvine. read more

I was referred to Velocity Wellness center and met Dr. Carlton. He made me feel like I'm in safe hands, made my visit as comfortable as they possibly could. It was good to be treated with compassion, kindness and professionalism. I used different machines and after 6-7 months my health gradually improved. Now I can breathe normally, and feeing strong and heathy. I felt I got the best possible treatment. I'm very thankful to Dr. Carlton, his family, Allison and Laila. My family is very grateful for what my health has become. A big thank you to you all! read more

Overall - Not a Good Experience & Not Going Back. The issues I have with this practice have to do with verifying insurance coverage and my treatment courses. Before I started treatment, I tried to find out if Dr. Mike was in-network under my insurance provider. Dr. Mike said he was, after telling me that he would call my insurance company. I made the mistake of taking him at his word. It turns out that he wasn't. Dr. Mike's office offered me a $100/month cash plan as an alternative, but they did not tell me up front before I accepted, that it was a contract for six months of treatment, whether I needed/received treatment or not. I learned two valuable lessons from this so far: I shouldn't trust statements or promises from a business without reading and verifying facts for myself. It's a shame that I couldn't rely on his verbal statements, because this was treatment for my health and pain issues. Here's the third valuable lesson I learned from my experience with Dr. Mike's office: if you're in a bad car accident where you have spinal damage, daily chiropractic treatment for 30 days recommended by the chiropracter himself is probably not going to help you the patient, but it will greatly increase your chiropracter's revenues. What I take away from this experience with this office is that when you are in a vulnerable position due to health conditions and financial/insurance restraints, be sure to read everything and ask specific questions regarding your longterm prognosis and financial obligations. Write these answers down, and have everything proposed to you that affects your financial obligations in writing. Communicate your alternative health treatment plan with your regular physician - this is very important because they can assess the value or potential dangers involved. If you're in a car accident and have legal representation, be sure to communicate everything about your treatment process to your attorney. read more

Dr Mike does a great job keeping me straightened out. My general level of tension had decreased over the last year of seeing him.

Absolutely amazing! I had a back spasm randomly in the middle of the night almost 3 months ago, went to the ER... All the doc did was give me a shot of pain medicine then send me on my way. I continues to have extreme pain in my right shoulder scapular area, upper extremity. I felt something was out of place but knew that pain meds weren't going to fix me. I tried one Session of acupuncture and that wasn't the answer. First visit I had with dr. Mike 2 weeks ago and the next day, I WAS BACK TO MY OLD SELF! No more pain in my shoulder. Apparently, my ribs were out of place in the scapular region. He's a miracle worker and I would recommend him To anyone and everyone. Also, the Yoli products that he has are truly awesome. I use the energy packets in my water and it beats the heck out is coffee! I will come to Dr Mike for any of my neck or back issues in the future or just to keep things right! I can't thank him enough. read more

Dr. Mike is a wonderful Chiropractor who is truly gifted. I started seeing him a few years ago and he has helped me with so many of my health issues. I used to have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Candida and dairy intolerance. Today I have neither of these problems and am truly healthy. If a health issue comes up, he knows what to do to bring my body back in balance via adjustments and the instruments he has in his office. I recently went to him for mold exposure. I suffered with it for days before i knew what it was and i went to see him. Next day I felt so much better, two days later i was back to normal. See him for your health concerns, you won't be sorry. read more

I first went to see Dr. Mike to relieve stress and some anxiety. You might wonder why you would see a chiropractor for stress and anxiety, but going to Dr. Mike helped relieve both of these. His adjustments and laser therapy helped tremendously. I believe that if one thing isn't functioning in the body than there is a connection throughout; basically one thing can affect the other. I even took my husband to Dr. Mike and he feels the positive change not only in body but mind. Both my husband and I now see Dr. Mike once a week for general day to day health and maintenance. I would recommend Dr. Mike to anyone looking for a knowledgeable and caring chiropractor who always has time for his patients and more importantly who listens and only wants the best outcome for his patients. read more

Dr. Mike is the baby whisperer. When he held my daughter (who was only 2 1/2 months at the time) he was very gentle. She also stopped crying with him. We went because she has bad acid reflux as well as severe gas pains (colic behaviors). Not sure if it really "cured her," because the colic symptoms decrease as you get older, but he taught us how to massage her properly to release her gas. He was able to find where her gas was stuck and helped release it. He also worked on her pelvis. The days we saw him, she farted all day (which we were happy about) and then seemed to be in a better mood for the rest of the week. If your baby has reflux and/or gas, visiting his office may be worth a try. read more

My 11-year old son and I, go to Velocity Wellness regularly and each time we go there, we are always treated like VIPs. Dr. Mike Okouchi was highly recommended by my trusted friends who also raved so much about him so we decided to check him out. My son's primary concern were allergies, asthma and restless leg and sleepless nights. Mine were really just overall health and organ, muscles and skeletal alignments. Within appx. 6 visits, I noticed that our son's sensitivity to his allergens were diminished and more importantly Dr. Mike introduced him to the power of consuming organic fruits and vegetables whether whole or juiced. Since he absolutely has the highest regard for Dr. Mike, he took his advice to heart and now very conscious about his health and the types of food that he would consume. Now he's juicing daily and he also makes sure he makes enough for both of us! He stopped eating junk and would only snack on nuts and organic snacks. He's also now sleeping soundly and his renewed focus with school is very noticeable. Before we started going to Dr. Mike's, he was prone to colds that led to brochitis which led to asthma exacerbation. Now, he is able to recover rather fast from colds and he has not had a single episode of coughing, bronchitis and asthma in 6 months. That in itself is a huge miracle for us! As for me, I now crave my visits to Velocity Wellness. I LOVE their foot detox bath! I don't know exactly how to explain this but every time I go there to get chiropractic adjustments from Dr. Mike, I feel physically energized and vibrationally empowered and unstoppable! Dr. Mike is not only scientific but is also highly kinesthetic and intuitive. I remember in one of our sessions, he asked me a particular question and my answer triggered an interest that he knew he could help me with. It was about an emotional and mental block that I unknowingly have been holding on for years. Dr. Mike led me to a very quick process which seemed like "Emotional Freedom Technique" (EFT or "Tapping" ) but this is EFT on turbo speed and with the use of red laser light coupled with some powerful word affirmation! Within minutes, there was a shift in me that was inexplicable! Now whenever I have a concern that is physical, mental or even emotional, I go to Dr. Mike Okouchi and Velocity Wellness because we know that we consistently experience positive and highly empowering results every time we go there. I have already referred many patients to Dr. Mike and I will continue to do so because I believe he absolutely cares, is highly knowledgeable and truly is one of the rare and very few real Advance Kinesiologists that is still accessible at such a reasonable rate. read more
