John Musoga was terrific to deal with and kept me informed all along the way. I especially appreciate that this dealership didn't add on a bunch of bogus extras to pump up the price. Overall, I had a very pleasant buying experience and definitely recommend anyone give them a try. I knew that I wanted another CX-5, I still have the 2020, and found the specific vehicle I was looking for at VM. After conversations with John M. on the phone and via email, I drove to Tyler to complete the deal. VM met all my expectations and even found a better interest rate than my credit union offered. Service department is horrible. No communications I have tried to get warranty work done on my air conditioning vents. The levers that keep them open game in glued. Which I was told was an easy fix. That the parts manager would get in touch with me. I have called. And talked with them in person 3 times and still no word, calls or up dates. The men who run this department are terrible. I would not buy a car from them because of the lack of professionalism and communication. They have no commitment to customer service. I will not be a repeat customer. The oil change is never just an oil change. It takes forever to get an appointment. I would not waste my money on the service package! read more

My partner and I bought our first brand new car from Velocity Mazda and to give them five stars doesn't feel like enough. We spoke with several other dealerships, did some research about what we wanted, and narrowed down our interests. We decided to go with a Mazda because of their incredible ratings in the Consumer Reports from 2021, the affordability vs the product offered, and the overall match between what they have and what we want. We found a 2022 CX-5 Carbon Edition we really liked. We spoke with John Musoga and Viridiana Garcia, they were both incredibly knowledgeable about the vehicle (Viry could write an owner's manual no problem) and responsive through email. The car we had been looking at sold before we had the chance to see it in person, but they were able to secure us one that we liked even more (2022 CX-5 CE w/Dark Red leather seats) for the same price! Katy was kind enough to show us her 2021 CX-5 so we could see what the red seats would look like in person; very cool of you Katy - thanks! I've heard plenty of stories about car-buying that make the process seem horrible and this was the exact opposite. Truth be told, this wasn't the first dealership we went to during our hunt. We originally visited the Mazda dealership in Longview, Gorman-McCracken, and test drove a CX-5, so we knew we liked the car, but the experience rolled down the hill from there. Once we got in the office it took a sharp turn to Shitsville. Bunch of men not listening to what we were saying we wanted, adding $3,000 on top of what was listed online stating they were "adding value" via ceramic coating inside and outside, nitrogen in the tires, and window tint (and trying to justify it by saying that everyone was doing it, lmao, which isn't true), trying to have "gotcha" moments with us like we weren't being transparent about our trade-in (I literally sent them pictures of everything and was beyond explicit about cosmetic damage/general condition via email), blah blah blah. Horrible - don't go there. **I would like to add that Kris was kind; he was very new to his role and was definitely being influenced by more senior employees to not let us walk away, which I understand the urgency for, but when your customer has told you several times that they aren't buying a car today - let them walk away. If you have the best deal, they'll be back.** ANYWAY I'll admit the bar was on the ground after that, so Velocity didn't have to do anything special, but they did what no one else seemed to be capable of - they treated us with respect. They listened to us, they kept their word about the price of the new car and the trade-in value they would offer us. There were no arguments about numbers or trying to win a thumb wrestling match; it was a super organic and open conversation that ended up with both parties getting what they wanted. Absolute chef's kiss of an experience, if I needed another car I know exactly where I would start. Purchased my 1st Brand New Vehicle here in 2015. Good people! Owner and staff were friendly, helpful, and was very patient with me. Over all, Great experienced shopping @ Velocity Mazda! One if the best car dealership I have been to. Only problem I'm facing. not sure if its manufacturer's error when build this vehicle or what....but Im already having to come in for checkup because of MULTIPLE ISSUES my car having, one after another.. And it's only 14 months old with just 10k millage. I mean, if I want to get my car fix every couple of months, why would I spent 28,000 on a new car? Don't give me wrong. I really appreciate the warranty cover all the service's expenses. Just wonder if this worth the money. Is it the reliable car I always wanted. ISSUES: 1. Horn stop working 2. I didn't buy a car from here but my boyfriend did and I experienced most of the process. Our product specialist (I think that was her job title) was Katy Tidwell, an absolute DOLL!!! I literally can't brag on her enough, she made everything so easy and intentionally struck up delightful conversation through the whole thing. After posting this review the owner contacted me to determine how he could improve his policies to support service coupons. He even asked my opinions on what approach would work best for the customer. I appreciate his approach in trying to support the customer with these service coupons and based on our discussion I believe he'll make the right choice not only for my daughter but for the rest of his customers. I'm increasing my rating based on his approach and my opinion he'll come up with an acceptable way to take care of his customers. Previous: "Policy to refuse warrantee service coupons not purchased at this dealership is unacceptable. My daughter is in college and is not at the city where we purchased her Mazda CX-5. We have not had a problem getting these coupon accepts at other dealerships, this is the first one that refused. The Warrantee company is top tier, BBB member and highly regarded. I usually trust businesses to take care of my daughter while she's in College, I am disappointed this dealership did not help me take care of my daughter. " read more

(Definitely 2 STARS: Meh, I've Experienced Better) First time at this place since I arrived three weeks ago. Since I have had my car for two years, I have been to at least 6 other dealerships in different states so feel I am pretty versed on service, wait times, lender cars (if any), and operations etc.... The Situation: I spoke to Craig on the phone and requested if I could have an update my GPS as the map is outdated and needs updating. I was told the updating would take two hours. With my work schedule conflicting with their service hours. I would have gladly left my car, only they dont have a rental car for me to use. So I requested to visit on Saturday (my off day) for the GPS/update service. I am told "Oil Changes are only for Saturdays only" So, I presented another option, if I could please leave the Chip with them on Saturday (which I did leave with Jerry;who was the only person I saw there and was the only one who appeared hospitable). I was suppose to pick the Chip up when the two hours uploading was complete (but, dont leave the CHIP for Saturday's because they only do Oil Changes). I also discovered there is little concern for accountability/responsibility on a short task. After 2 days, no word or update on what was suppose to take 2 hours. Late Tuesday evening, 5:30 pm, I called Velocity Mazda about the Chip I left with at Velocity Mazda After listening to C.H.excuse, I am told, it (the chip) will be ready the next day Wednesday) and free to pick it up at lunch time. (which I cannot because of my work schedule which they forgot about was the whole reason for me leaving the Chip with them). So,When I get there, (because prior communication with Craig was over the phone, NO greeting like "Welcome to Velocity Mazda", (no smile either) and NO "glad to be of service" nor a "Thank you for your business" yada yada. I was given a business card (nothing else). They are strictly open till 6 pm during the week. As a side note, I really find it disturbing to post these type of review. I really enjoy posting good reviews. All of us care and want value, quality customer service, and Especially at a dealership where its pricey. All of us want to see the experience as courteous, timely, and professional because this the dealership relationship continues once after the car is purchased. There is no excuse why a dealership does not have it together with service, communication and hospitality. I hope they do better and improve. read more

I was searching for a very specific Mazda and very few places carried the one I wanted. My father found exactly what I wanted at Velocity Mazda. We traveled 2 hours to test drive a car but it was well worth the travel. Everyone at this dealership was polite, professional and courteous. We were able to get the car I wanted at a great price and no hassle. They helped me set my car up with the settings and took their time teaching me how to use all of the features. They followed up with me numerous times to ensure everything was going well. I appreciate everything they have done and would highly recommend them in the future. I purchased a new Miata from Velocity a few months ago. The buying experience was easy and as enjoyable a process as it could be spending some time in a dealership. Staff was friendly and courteous. I have only had to come in once for some warranty work (alignment). There were plenty of appointments available and I was able to choose a time that worked best for me. I was quoted one hour for the work to be completed and was pleasantly surprised when the came and got me approximately 35 min later. I've had nothing but a positive experience from the sales, parts, and financing departments. The owner came by and checked on me during both of my visits (initial purchase and warranty work appointment). My salesperson, John, has checked on me via text a few times since purchase as well.
