When I got my phone back, I immediately noticed that the display looked completely different. The screen has a blue tint and doesn't display true blacks, which was especially noticeable since I use Dark Mode. I compared it side-by-side with another iPhone, and the difference was obvious. In addition, there's now a noticeable black border around the edge of the screen, even though the original display is edge-to-edge. On top of that, my phone no longer holds a charge, even though it was purchased new a few months prior. At no point before the repair was I told that they would be installing a lower-quality generic screen. Only after we returned to explain the issues were we told that a higher-quality screen was available as an option, but since we had paid for the generic replacement, there was nothing they could do. For $165, I was left with a phone that looks worse, performs worse, and wasn't restored to its original quality. If you're going to advertise that you can "fix" a phone, customers should be told upfront if the replacement parts will significantly change the appearance and performance of their device.

Anyways, I messaged the company and got a quick response. Next thing I knew I had an appointment with Josh to get my iPhone 6 phone screen replaced. He agreed to meet me at a Barnes and Noble conveniently located 2 minutes away from my work. I met with him during my lunch break and was done with the whole process in under 30 mins! Long story short, they could not fix my computer and my best bet is to look for an independent company to recover my data. I may not be a doctor or a scientist looking for the cure to cancer. But, as a law school student who is about to graduate in May 2017, who is also a clerk at a firm in NJ and a judicial law clerk for a Judge in NY, my notes and work product = HOLY GRAIL Home, 3/33/17 @ 4:25 PM: Performed one google search after another to look for a company that I can trust to recover my data. After a plethora of results and semi-convincing people telling me that I have to ship my laptop to various places, i.e. St. Louis; California; etc., I knew that I needed to find a person who I can personally and physically see, speak to, and interact with. I am too paranoid and skeptical for my own good and was simply not comfortable to ship my MacBook to anyone. Found someone local. Spoke to previous clients for a reference and found that his turnaround time may not be as quick as I want it to be. Helpless and hopeless - NEED MY MACBOOK FIXED ASAP. @ 5:45 PM: Found Intrepid - Josh's company with amazing reviews. Called him. He texted back because he could not pick up. He was able to ask me relevant questions right off the bat and was able to give me a little bit of comfort, but not too much hope. He did not want to over promise and under deliver, I later found. I made an appointment with him for Thursday, 3/23/2017 at 6pm. Thursday 3:23 @ 6PM: YES HE IS MOBILE. YES HE COMES TO YOU. He arrived at my house right on time. He even offered to take his shoes off, which I really appreciate since we do not wear shoes in the house. He got right to work and was prepared. He was thorough, quick, smart, and very efficient. When he tells you that he will be done in an hour, that is literally the case. YES MY DATA WAS RECOVERED AND I AM NOW A NORMAL PERSON AGAIN!!! Thanks to Josh, I have all of my data and my hard drive is now safe and secure. For those of you who are wondering: my MacBook is no longer usable. But, that is NOT why I needed Josh. My MacBook was the least of my worries. I bought it in 2010 and should I not able to be used again, I did not mind. All I cared about was my data, which Josh DID save, recovered, and even gave me a little storing container and pouch to store my hard drive in. I now have ALL of my data recovered from my hard drive AND the proud owner of a pretty and shiny MacBook Pro with touchbar as an (early) graduation gift from my parents =) =) I am forever indebted to Josh and WILL call him whenever I need any technical support. SAVE MONEY AND GO HERE! I had my iPhone 7 front screen only replaced by this company last weekend…read moreand holy crap was i missing out! First off, i have ATT plan and pay phone insurance for 8.99 for this and apparently it would of costed me $90 out of pocket to repair my screen using the insurance service from ATT. I spider cracked my front screen after dropping it (accidently) face down out of my car about a month or two after getting the damn thing WITH TEMPERED GLASS PUT ON BY THE ATT REP! Went to apple and the mall to get prices and for the front screen ONLY it was $150 for both Willowbrook and Apple Prices. No. I told this tech at Strocity Industries about all the prices i had to pay and it was originally 90$ for the screen to be replaced with a 90 day warranty but he reduced the price to 80$ for competition reasons. The tech took 11 minutes to fix and give me back my phone (i timed it actually). Fastest service and cheapest service i had from anyone. 10/10 stars.

I called the shop to inquiry about replacing a Lenovo Idea Pad charging socket. I have purchased…read morethe part. The man wouldn't give me a price over the phone, not a labor rate. He asked me to bring the laptop to the store. So, I did. He took one look of my laptop after I demonstrated the charging socket is not stable to charge. (it charges well at a certain angle, but not other angles). The man asked for $145 for the labor. It is true that he has to open the laptop, but a technician wouldn't take more than 30 minutes to replace the socket event it has to be soldered on. Of course, I didn't have him repair it. It would have saved time and frustration if he had told me over the phone of $145. The bestbuy charges a flat fee of $89.
