I asked them to make a large ring that I was going to propose with. They asked me to get some wood, they couldn't cut it down so I did. They also said they couldn't cut or supply the aluminum. No problem, had it laser cut to size. Their job was to weld the pre-sized aluminum, slide in wood, glue, and pin it with some rod. They could then turn the flat aluminum on their lathe and round it over to match the wood ring I had already flattened for them. Then, they were supposed to weld together a cage made out of some square rod to hold this glass diamond. Lastly, they were going to polish it all up so it was ready for my proposal. They gave me almost unworked metal, with unevenly rounded edges, cracked welds, welds that literally shattered, and a flimsy cage made out of the wrong material that would bend and drop the piece of glass unless it was held carefully and vertical. Did they apologize, give me a discount, refund me? Nope, full price, over $600 for a couple cracked welds, and an ugly disaster. If I wasn't on a time crunch I would have just walked out but I couldn't get more wood/metal in time so I just had to do it myself. read more

DONT COME HERE!! This business operates on bait and switch tactics. Plus horrible customer service. Will be reporting to BBB. My boyfriend called them to get a quote and bring in 2 axle shafts to be cut and and bearings moved 1/4 inch. THEY DAMAGED THE BEARINGS AND DID NOT EVEN REPLACE THEM. They told him it would be done same day. It was not. When he called in the evening to ask if they were ready they told him maybe tomorrow. But was literally told "oh well what are you gonna do about it now" rude and unprofessional. Originally was quoted $100 a shaft (brought in 2) When my boyfriend picked it up he proceeded to charge him $150 per piece!!! My boyfriend told him that's not what he quoted and this man just said he didn't know he was supposed to cut, hello? You were told that yesterday when you gave the quote. Total switch up. Unprofessional. We're told same day it would be done and now the up charge!! Plus the nasty attitude. And on top of that, damaged the bearings and did not take accountability for it!!! read more

very bad job on my cylinder heads,, very shady,, cost me more money.. I don't think it run by original owner because they used to be real good... I didn't think to look until I was ready to install them,, that's when I noticed one of the heads had camshaft lifted off the towers... they had the head for three weeks & this is what they did... I'm not even going to try & go back,, I can tell it would be more of a disappointment... they had even incr the price when I went to get them after they gave me the price over the phone when they told me they were done,,, with no additional work... Bad place to go for cylinder head work,, I don't know about anything else,, but I'm giving the heads up your taking a chance going here read more

I came to Velios to explore my options for a local machine shop in hopes of finding one capable of building an engine for me. To test the quality of their craftsmanship and ethics, I had a 6mm thread repaired on a VVT cover for a Miata that was stripped. They successfully repaired my cover and had a fast turnaround time. I would have given a 5-star review but I was Quoted 25-35 dollars for the repair the day before but when I came to pick up the part the invoice was $50 due to additional work. I would have complained about the additional cost being double but since the turnaround was fast and on a Saturday I just paid it. Overall, they did good work with fast turnaround time but are pricey. And, Keep in mind the price quoted might be different depending on if any additional work is required. Next time, I will probably just buy a 6mm helicoil kit for $30 and repair it myself, but I will consider using their services for machine work I could not perform myself at home. read more

I came to Vellios to have 4 bushings pressed out and new ones pressed in but I also brought a broken heat shield and a crossmember for my trucks lift kit with me. They were able to repair the heat shield (which is now discontinued and unable to purchase a replacement) and modify the crossmember how I wanted. The bushings were a same day service with a Friday morning drop off and Friday afternoon pickup. The welding took another day or 2 which meant Monday or Tuesday pickup because of the limited weekend schedule so be aware of that. Definitely my go-to place for weird or machining repairs now. read more

They did an awesome job with my Toyota 3.4 engine that blew head gasket. They fixed the exhaust valve leaks and pitted areas between the water jacket and cylinder. Guys there are very experienced with all engines. There's probably nothing they haven't seen before. Generations of car guys have been to this place. read more

I called about 16 other "Machine shops " before finding Vellios machine shop. I had two steering knuckle's from my 4x4 that the bottom ball joint's had completely worn out the holes in the knuckles. I couldn't find any used ones and the dealer wanted $1000 apiece for new ones. All of those other shops just gave an instant "NO". Vellios said bring them down and let them look at them. Professional services at very reasonable prices. I needed to press a "stubborn" ball join out on my 14-year old BMW. A few other shops told me that it would take many hours. One auto repair shop tried and failed. At Vellios it got done in 20 minutes. Not only the job was done quickly, but also the customer service was great. Needed to get some control arm bushings pressed in and out. Called around and got various quotes from various mechanic shops, and the prices seemed steep for just pressing in and out a bushing. I even stopped by the local mechanics near my house, and they all told me to just go to Vellios. Went by Vellios to drop off the arms and bushings, and the guy knew exactly what was up without me having to say anything. $25/per arm, 1 bushing per arm. I was told that they would be done sometime in the afternoon as there were 5 orders already ahead of mine (this was at 10:00am). Left my name and number, and went home. Couple hours later, I got a call saying my order was ready. Work was done perfectly (bushings were oriented properly and pressed evenly). If I ever need to get any head work done I know who I'll go to. Same with future suspension work requiring a press. read more

Well it has been a year since they completed the machine work on my 69 351 Windsor. I am still very happy and enjoyed putting it all back together. It all runs well and has been a pleasure to drive since. By the way, I completed the build 2 weeks later and had it in the car that weekend. Been using the car as a daily driver since. I had a steering wheel from a vintage garden tractor that I needed pressed out/off the steering shaft. After visiting two different shops that told me they couldn't do it, with one of the shop owners informing me that it couldn't be done the way I thought because I was wrong about the assembly in spite of me telling him I had looked at the manual online and offering to show it to him (yeah, I'm female -lol) .. Then a friend referred me to Vellios. It a bit of a drive for me, but very well worth it. The guy I believe to be the owner was great to deal with, and they had no problem understanding what I asked for, and did a nice neat job getting the steering wheel off the shaft without butchering it. Thank goodness, I thought I was going to have to get my husband to translate! I will not hesitate to make the drive to go back to these guys. read more

This is an OLD SCHOOL machine shop. I've used them since the 1980s, and they helped me out with align boring some bushings in a block that a closer (since closed) machine shop replaced without being able to complete the work. I use this shop mostly for work and they do simple to total nightmare jobs in a reasonable amount of time. Something I can say about them is they always do their best to make it happen. I have had many items made from scratch and others modified. The staff here are always accommodating and make every effort to make our requests happen. I have seen a few reviews that say the staff is rude, but I have never experienced that here. read more

Machine shop??? More like a Grind Shop!!! Took my SBC there to be balanced and they used a grinder to remove material from my GM pink rods. Rods really looked like crap afterwards, like something someone would have done in one's home garage. Same for valve stems after valve job, top of the valve stems showed course grinder lines. read more

I've had mostly small jobs completed here. Had a window regulator welded, an exhaust manifold jet blasted and more recently some valve covers cleaned.
