Their professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to customer satisfaction truly set them apart from the competition. My relationship began with Wilson (owner) when I dropped off a Toyota Cressida 3.0L6 DOHC 16V Engine for a complete engine rebuild. He completed the engine in short order. So I picked it up and reinstalled it into my customer's car. After making routine adjustments and road testing, the engine ran perfectly. However, I did detect a very faint metallic sound emitting from the engine. Thinking it might be a lifter that might possibly quieten down after the engine was broken in. I shared my thoughts with my customer and suggested that they drive the car 500 mile, then return it to me. At that point, I would change the oil and reassess the health of the engine. 529 miles later, my customer returned the car to me, and the noise was still there. In fact, it had gotten worse. I alerted Wilson and he instructed me to bring the car back to him so he could check it out. I left the car at his shop, but he could not readily detect the source of the noise. So, he ultimately removed the engine from the car, totally dismantled it, inspecting and measuring all the internal components. Still, he found nothing out of specs. Obviously puzzled, and determined, he decided to start all over again, from scratch. The Toyota 3.0L DOHC 16V Engine is obsolete and hard to find. But after an extensive search for another "Rebuildable" Engine Block and Head, Wilson eventually found the cores that he needed to complete the project. He finally finished second the engine rebuild and reinstalled it a few weeks ago. When I went to pick the car up, he handed me an invoice with "UNDER WARRANTY" written across the page. Short version - Just go here and save yourself a huge headache Long version - Had a cylinder misfire and wasn't under warranty anymore. Brought it to my dealer anyway, the mechanic there listened to it run for 3 seconds, said he knew for sure it needed a whole brand new engine and quoted me $15,000 for a swap so I left. Luckily I found this place and brought it in when they had availability. They fixed my issue without swapping the engine and replaced some additional parts all for around $1,800. They also showed me the old parts they removed and what was wrong with them and as a bonus, they washed my car and fixed my broken front hood latch just because. They actually care about the work they perform here and are 100% honest about everything. I have other shops closer to me but after this I will gladly bring my car here every single time. read more

My project wasn't time sensitive so it wasn't a problem they took a little longer than anticipated but they were very thorough and honest with me. Just had a 22re in my 1989 Toyota 4Runner fully rebuilt and just finished breaking it in for the first 500 miles. I have to say that I am very pleased with the he outcome of my rebuild and the entire experience from this shop! Wilson was very professional and listened to all my concerns on how my engine was running and why I thought it needed a rebuild. He had me bring it in and did I his own testing on it to compare what I had told him. He got back to me and confirmed that my issues were internal and the engine needed a rebuild. He was very accommodating and kept my truck at his shop the entire time through the rebuild (other shops I was looking at only wanted me to bring the engine to them). When the engine was disassembled Wilson had me come in and look at the engine and other parts that needed to be changed out due to wear and tear (engine mounts, trans mount, harmonic balancer, etc.) He actually showed me the parts! I already planned on having him look at that so it was comforting that he wanted to show me to prove that he was not just trying to add additional costs to the work. After everything was rebuilt and put back in, he showed me how they pressure washed the engine bay and explained the 500 mile break-in process. I just brought the truck back after 500miles and am now ready to drive it whenever I need it. The whole process took almost a month, but in that short time I can tell SIGNIFICANT improvements in the way the truck responds and drives. This rebuild cost a little more than other places that I asked around, but I will am a firm believer in you get what you pay for and also these guys pulled the engine, stored my truck and reinstalled the engine... so I feel the price was well justified. I would like to give One Stop Engine Rebuilding (OSER) their props! After two weeks of researching and corresponding with several mechanics, I chose them. I am not disappointed. When I initially called OSER, I spoke with Wilson. I explained to him what I was told, was wrong with my son's car (Blown Head Gasket). He asked me some questions about the car and gave me an estimate of how much it would cost. The price he gave me was higher then all the others. After a few days of thinking I decided on OSER. I picked them for two reasons: Engine repair is what they do. And Wilson was different from all the other mechanics I had spoken to. He was nice and took his time giving me an estimate. I made an appointment to have the car repaired. Upon my arrival, I noted that the shop was across the street from Costco Business Store/Gas Station. I love going to that Costco gas station. I also noticed that the shop was CLEAN and ORGANIZED! A lot of mechanics shop are messy and in disarray. The next day Wilson called me, stating that it wasn't the head gasket, it was the fuel injector and it needed a major tuneup. The car needed a major tuneup after receiving one 6 months prior and very little use. I was mad because the mechanic who gave it the major tuneup also told me it was the head gasket and it wasn't worth getting fixed. WOW! I'm so glad I took it to OSER. Wilson gave me a new lower estimate and told me that with my approval he would order the parts and the car would be repaired the next day. Approved! When I came to pick up the car, I immediately noticed that they'd washed it and put dressing on the tires. When I got in and started it up, it sounded great! It drove really well. I also noticed that they'd fixed the hood and gas opener levers inside the car. I was so happy they fixed these levers. My son had them hanging on with duct tape. Thank you OSER and Wilson. Unfortunately I have to update my previous review based on the current status of the engine. The engine lasted me approx 2 years @21k miles. Cylinder #4 shows low compression (30psi lower). I proceeded with a wet compression test and the psi went up which means either worn piston rings, rings not seated correctly, or worn walls. I have kept up with maintenance, and constantly kept an eye on oil level. Pictures attached, $2800 lesson learned. read more

Update: Wilson was very nice and took care of me. He patiently led me through some tests and information I didn't know, and didn't charge me, to make up for what happened before. We found the problem, and it looks like I need a full engine rebuild. When I can afford it, I will probably come back here. They were apparently having a very stressfully busy time when I came in before, but today things are calmer; everyone I talked to was very nice and patient. They really should have told me not to remove the head, and instead to bring the car in intact so proper tests could be done. They trusted my mechanic's guess that something was wrong with the head, and should have done their own testing, or talked to the mechanic. It was bad communication, and me not knowing enough at the time to be more clear. I really truly appreciate the way they are taking care of me and my old car now! Great place to get machine work done! Was repairing a subaru boxer engine which are notorious for head gasket leaks. The boxer engines have 2 heads and they both needed to be resurfaced. Dropped them off at 9:30am and they were ready to be picked up by noon. The price was one of the best I found all over LA @ $45 per head to be resurfaced. Got them back and they look awesome, they were covered in grease when I dropped them off and they were bright and shiny when I got them back. I wasn't sure they were the same heads I dropped off because they were that clean! read more

On 04/22/14, I could not start the engine on my 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. From initial contact to auto repair completion, my impression of "One Stop Engine Rebuilding' is 1st Class Grade A! This is due mostly to one person -owner / mechanic Wilson. He was superb for the following reasons: 1. Willingness in offering telephonic auto diagnostics on engine start failure (PRIOR to servicing) and same-day repairs. 2. Paid (~$40) less than original estimate ($337) after a more thorough diagnostic was completed in-house. 3. Voided fees for diagnostic inspection ($65) on final bill -only charged for labor + parts to replace starter. 4. Honesty in stating near or actual labor + parts cost -per my extensive research online. 5. Offered '6 months / 6,000 miles warranty' on both parts & labor. 6. Repairs completed ahead of time (~45 minutes sooner)!; original quote was between 1.5 - 2 hours 7. most people write reviews for auto repairs/mechanics for basic things like oil changes and other minor things which can be misleading for people who need more demanding work. Here i got something just as important as getting my truck serviced which was communication. Called Wilson and was treated respectfully. It was a big deal that he seemed to be trying to earn my business and not like he was doing me the favor of doing anything at all to my truck which is the attitude i got from other places. He took care of my engine rebuild and called me throughout with status updates. Did not actually have work done by One Stop Engine Rebuilding. My car has recently been blowing smoke out the exhaust. I took it to my personal mechanic and told me my engine needed to be rebuilt (upon little inspection). I had a friend look at it and he said the same thing. I knew it wasn't the engine. I called Wilson at One Stop for a quote and he immediately let me know that from the symptoms that he knew it for sure wasn't my engine and walked me through over the phone how to diagnose whether it was the engine and then how to test the turbo. I was doing the vanos seals repair on my 540i, and I came here to have one of the steps performed as I do not have a workbench here. I came expecting to have to pay for the work they did for me, but Wilson(whom I think is the owner) just did the work sent me on my way, which was a nice surprise. The service was great and hey seemed legitimately interested in the work that I was doing. It seems like its very busy and with good reason. If I ever need to have major engine work done that I wouldn't be able to do myself, I now have a pretty good idea where I will be coming. We love One Stop. We have older cars on the assumption that maintaining a classic is much cheaper than making payments on a new car. And with One Stop this is even more true. They make it easy to keep our older cars running perfect. I do all my own easy stuff like tune ups and hose replacements, but when I'm in over my head I'm glad I have Wilson to call. Wilson is the last of the honest mechanics. One Stop has an amazing machine shop and Wilson and his brothers do fantastic work at a very fair price. I have a classic, restomod 1984 BMW Cafe' motorcycle that had a bad Heli coil job on both cylinders and I asked more than one auto repair and cycle repair about re-doing the job. I was told that the heads would have to be removed, or that it would be tricky, and/or expensive. I took the bike to One Stop and after carefully looking at the issue Wilson and another technician said that they could do the job right then. I wouldn't even have to leave the cycle. Within an hour they had the job done and no problems since. They even brought me a nice office chair and I watched the entire job. Moreover, the cost was very reasonable - the job was no big deal for Wilson and the shop. Most of their work is far more involved on car and truck engines. I was amazed at the variety of cars that were in their shop. Some were cars from the '30's to the '50's that I hadn't seen in a long time. I highly recommend the shop. read more

I dropped my car off to hopefully discover why it wasn't running properly after the timing belt and engine was put back together at another shop. I talked to Wilson later that day and he told me that they adjusted the timing belt and replaced a couple of other belts that were completely stretched out and worn. The "rattling" was actually caused by the worn out belts. Wilson promised that they would test drive the car again to make sure that the adjustment worked and sure enough, the next day the car was running so much better. Wilson told me I had an oil leak and suggested I get the engine steam cleaned so they could see the source of the leak . I was quoted $75 for this and $150 to replace all the major hoses. I'm very pleased with this shop and I am happy that they are turning into a full service mechanic shop. I will go back here every time because Wilson ended up doing minor adjustments and fixing my car that many others said was a gonner. I can't reccommend this place enough! read more

I accidentally stumbled across One Stop Engine Rebuilding after taking my 2005 Chrysler Pacificia to my mechanic of 20 plus years to repair a blown head gasket. My mechanic looked over my car and stated that it's to much work involved in doing a gasket job and it would be easier to get me another low mileage engine. I also checked a couple of other shops which did not want to take on the task of doing the work on my Pacificia. Keep in mind my car only has about 132k miles and I didn't want to risk getting another engine and run across the same problem. I then begin searching for a shop to get a price on rebuilding my engine for worst case scenario. I went on the computer to search for a shop with good ratings that would do a engine rebuild at a reasonable price and that's when I came across One Stop. I gave One Stop a call and explained to Wilson what I needed. Wilson seemed to know everything I was asking in regards to my car. I do not write reviews for services I receive, but in this case I am making an exception. I have a 2001 Dodge Ram Van 1500 with over 200,000 miles on the engine. The van had given me very good service over the years so I decided to keep it a little while longer. Although the engine was running just fine, I thought it would be a good idea to have the engine rebuilt since I was getting engine code lights for misfires, and it made it very difficult to pass emissions in Arizona. I searched the internet for engine re-builders in the LA California ( I was staying there at the time), and found just two that recieved good reviews. I called OneStop engine rebuilding, and asked for a ballpark cost to rebuild my engine. I spoke to Wilson, who gave me a ballpark amount that I thought was very reasonable. He also told me that he really needs to look at the engine to give a more accurate estimate. He also told me that there could be other cost depending on what they find as the job progresses. We scheduled a date for me to bring in the car for an estimate. When I got to the shop, I was impressed with the neat appearance of the place. Old building but still neat and clean. They looked the car over and Wilson gave me the estimate which was what he quoted to me over the phone. I scheduled the work. I also took a peek at the shop... same thing neat and organized. His scored high marks as I am a home mechanic, and like things neat, as it shows pride in ones work. I took the car in for the work on the scheduled date, and was reminded that the car would be ready in about two weeks. A few days later, I got a call from Wilson who told me that the water pump was leaking ( explained the water leak I could not find) and that the heads could not be repaired, but he would do his best to get me a good price for the added parts, which he did. The day came to pick up the car, and I was off to Arizona. I was told to change the oil at 500 miles. And take it easy driving to allow the engine to break in, which I did. The car ran GREAT! I have since been back to OneStop to have a follow-up check of the engine work, and everything is OK. I can't say enough about the work Wilson and his staff did.
