At the entry, your car is weighed, and you have to pay in advance, I used a credit card (they don't accept AMEX), and a hold for $93 is placed on your credit card. I'm not sure why it is such an odd amount, but it is what it is. Apparently, if you BRING CASH there is smaller upfront payment, I believe like $20. Since I was dumping mattresses, we had to go to landfill number one, which is the first turn on the left. Drive slowly, as the road is curvy and bumpy, plus it is shared with larger trucks and machines. There is no smoking at all, I'm assuming because of the gas... So, I'll be honest, it wasn't what I was expecting... I was thinking it was a transfer site, like the other location on Brown Station Road or like the dump in Baltimore City, or MoCo, where trash is dumped in a bin. Nope, this is dirt, smells, and birds, lots of them. There is a worker to direct you regarding where to dump your trash; although, I'm not sure if he available to assist you with lifting and such. IMHO, I'd bring a friend, or maybe just pay someone else... *shrugs shoulders* On the way out take your receipt and reweigh your car. You will receive the difference. The staff there were super friendly, and explained everything as needed. Although this was a pretty chill experience, I'm not used to having to pay to dump trash. Other than that, no problems.

That's what you get when you pay your invoices regularly and expect decent service from a sub par company that doesn't care about customer service. Try to get out of your contract - it takes months and months to fight with them. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. And be very careful - they buy contracts from other trash companies and claim to inform you, but they don't. Apparently it's such a scam that people end up paying them out of frustration. And by the way - their customer service reps are so rude and inappropriate on the phone. It's disgraceful.

They also have helped me with heavy Furniture units. Getting one large oak table down from the upstairs. And moving a mahogany unit from one room to the other. It was done beautifully. After Republic Services bought out Tenleytown Trash, they all but stopped servicing our address. I…read morehad to call and email countless times during hot weather to practically beg someone to pick up our overflowing trash. It was ridiculous. In September 2021, I emailed Dispatch yet again to cancel the account effective October 1, 2021. They were no longer servicing our address at this point EXCEPT when I called to complain and ask for a pickup. Dispatch finally removed the bins on October 14 (after I emailed them again). Once the bins were picked up I figured service was officially cancelled. WRONG. Republic Services sent my building a bill just the other day. Then someone called to update our payment information as we had stopped automatic payments. I explained to the representative what happened: that I had cancelled service for the building back in October, and we have not had bins or service since then. Then today I received this email from their Sales department (see photo). Apparently Dispatch never told Sales I was cancelling the account. They also never told Sales they were no longer servicing the address. And they certainly never told me I needed to send a certified letter to anyone to cancel the account! Bottom line: Avoid Republic Services at all costs. They are a massive headache!

Another owner spoke to customer service on the phone who offered to cut the bill to $660/month (still 4x the price others are quoting) but still can't produce the alleged automatically renewing three-year contract they claim the association entered into in 2007. How they can enforce the terms of a contract they can't produce, I do not know. Of course, such a contract is illegal under DC Commercial Code, as they'd have to explicitly notify when renewal was imminent -- and we can't find any evidence that's ever happened. Your move, Republic.

He called the day of the appointment and said they needed more notice even though it had been over a week since I booked the service through their website for the services they addressed in their quote. My coworker told him he had to ask me about rescheduling and they weren't on the line when I picked up. They never called back so I called them. They offered to come back the next day and I said ok. He showed up the next day and tried to increase the quote because nothing was staged for them to pick up. Never a part of the quote or discussed when the quote was handled. I addressed it with him and he proceeded to argue with me about it. I sent him and his helpers on their way. I've used other haulers that show up when they're supposed to and don't bicker about things not being staged and try to charge you more. I was looking forward to getting junk removed today and it didn't happen because of unprofessionalism from the owner himself. We'll get it removed elsewhere. I'm reading bad reviews here and seeing his responses and they're funny because he's calling out his own customers to make it out to be their fault instead of learning from his mistakes. He was cool when he came to give the quote and was someone else when he showed up to get the job done - which never got done. And he was happy to walk away when I told him forget it I'll call someone else. Never tried to make it better. Absolutely ridiculous. Stubborn and rude and not what you'd expect from the owner of a company. It's junk removal. Period. I can get someone else easily who does things the right way and puts their customers first. *UPDATE* and there you can see below for yourself his response to my negative review. Do yourself a favor and call a junk removal company who will take negative reviews seriously, honor their original quote and not argue with customers. I'll stop my "madness" now.....
