However, when I went to pick it up, we discovered a rattle, which they told me they would pay to repair and sent me to a Kwik-I-Car. I was there all of ten minutes before the mechanic told me they couldn't do anything about it. The rattle was still there when i took the car to the dealership to get the oil leak fixed, and they told me they would get that fixed as well, no charge. So I sat for three-four days without a car, but thought it was fine. Then a check engine light came on. Que about a week of no car as they fixed all these issues. Then I went to pick it up, and Wallace the sales rep tried to refill the windshield cleaning fluid, only to discover the reservoir was badly damaged. So I have to get that fixed. I thought that was the end of it until today, when i tried to get my car inspected, only to discover that the horn had no wires connecting it to the steering wheel. I literally have been driving a car that is legally unable to pass inspection. I don't know if these guys just don't use good mechanics or are intentionally ignoring things, but being told "it's not like we haven't put any money into it" when i spent 15,000 of my own money doesn't feel great.

More than a week and another $1,000 in repairs later, the car is running properly. Our local mechanic also told us that the battery Street Volkswagen sold us was not needed. The failed diagnosis was frustrating, but the reason for this review is how Street responded afterward. I called three times, sent a text, and tried the online chat to discuss what happened. I received no meaningful response. Street Volkswagen was friendly and attentive while taking our money. But the true measure of a business is how it responds when something goes wrong, and Street failed that test. I would caution Volkswagen owners in the Amarillo area to think twice before relying on Street for service. If it is your only dealership option, have another trusted mechanic in mind.
