TL;DR: Lara is an incredibly fun and creative dressmaker who makes the process of creating a custom…read morewedding dress just as delightful as the end product itself! Working with her was easily one of the highlights of my wedding planning journey, and I can't recommend her enough. The Long Story: After trying on more than a couple of wedding dresses, I realized that it'd be difficult to find exactly what I was envisioning in a boutique. I'd always been intrigued by the idea of doing a custom dress with a local dressmaker, so after reading a bunch of reviews, I reached out to Lara to see if this option seemed like a good fit for me. Right from the get-go, Lara was incredibly warm and helpful. She patiently walked me through all my questions over email, and with only a little back and forth about my preferences, she sketched a gorgeous dress perfectly in line with what I was hoping for. Our first order of in-person business--a whole afternoon of shopping for dress fabric together in the Fashion District--initially seemed very daunting. But thanks to Lara, it ended up being one of my favorite memories from the whole wedding planning experience! Diving into shop after shop, bouncing ideas back and forth--with her great sense of humor and energy, Lara seamlessly guided me through the sea of options available while also encouraging me to explore whatever came to mind. That fun, collaborative dynamic continued throughout the entire dressmaking process. My dress ended up having a lot of intricate details yet Lara was always up to the challenge, somehow arranging the chaos of lace and my feedback into something beautiful. I looked forward to every single fitting I had with Lara, and when I finally took the dress home, I felt sad that our time had to come to a close! Due to my forgetfulness, this is review is incredibly belated (practically a year since the wedding!!), but the fact that I still remember the process with Lara so vividly is a testament to just how great it was. After all, a wedding dress is supposed to be a garment full of love and memories, and I'm so glad to have these wonderful memories of creating the dress as well. Thank you, Lara, for being a part of my dress's story!

She also knew nothing about what I wanted or what I was looking for although I spoke to someone over the phone a few days earlier. I told her my price point and she just stared at me with confusion. She would ask me "what about this" to every dress even though I wasn't looking for something like it, would walk across the room and yell "what about this" and when I told her kindly no, she just walked off looking for more dresses. In the fitting room, she just threw the dresses to the side once you got out of them. She didn't help with anything more than zipping up the dresses and didn't even bother to fit one of the dresses to me because "it looks like it fits". Once I would leave the dressing room to show my family members, she wouldn't help with accessories or questions, just went back to the room to take back the other dresses. You can imagine this took an hour maybe 1.5 hours but we were in and out in less than 30 minutes. Mind you, I had to pay $50 for this appointment. I had 2 more dresses in the room and didn't even care to finish trying on the other dresses because she was rude and so unhelpful. When I told her I was done trying on dresses, she just said "ok" and rushed us out of the building. Total waste of time and money, don't come here unless you want to be treated like crap.

My friend had bought a jumpsuit here for her wedding and had a great experience, so it was the first store I went to when it was time for me to find a dress! I knew that I wanted color in my dress, and Lorien had many options for me. The second dress I tried on turned out to be the one! I came in knowing what kind of cut I was looking for, and Amanda pulled every dress in the store that fit my specifications and was so helpful and knowledgeable as I tried everything on. She was also amazing at not pressuring me--I told her I had an appointment booked at another shop, and she encouraged me to go and see if I could find a dress to beat my Lorien dress before making my purchase decision. I've heard horror stories of brides being pressured into buying a wedding dress the day they try it on, so I deeply appreciated the pressure-free experience I had at Lorien. I doubt I could have found my unique white-with-colored-flowers dress at many other shops, so I'm very lucky to have found Lorien!

This was Lauren's very first time trying on wedding dresses, and Lisa and Debbie were absolutely amazing. They were warm, patient, knowledgeable, and so generous with their time. They helped educate us on the different gowns and styles, let Lauren try on as many dresses as she wanted without ever making us feel rushed, and even brought out different veil options so we could see the complete look. They truly doted on us and made us feel like family. The boutique itself is PRISTINE, charming, beautiful, and spacious, with two large mirrored areas and different lighting so you can really see each gown once it's on. Lauren tried on several beautiful dresses, and then she put on THE dress. We all had tears in our eyes. We said YES to the dress on our very first day of wedding dress shopping! We couldn't believe what an effortless, fun, and special experience it was. If you're getting married, make St. Clark Bridal your FIRST stop. You may not need a second!

My family tried to talk to her and she shut them down, saying me and her were having private discussions. And the owner offered nothing, all she said was that I could pay $300 for a special appointment with her. Def would not recommend!

I contacted Roya pretty close to my wedding date (about 1.5-2 months out near holiday season) and was very nervous about the tight turnaround. She was able to get me in to see her quickly and thankfully completed the alterations ASAP, so I had plenty of time to ensure that everything was perfect and further alterations could be done if needed. However, with her skill and talent, that wasn't necessary at all. My dress needed to be hemmed and bustled, which may not sound like a lot to some people, but it was incredibly difficult to the delicate and intricate lace detailing at the bottom of my dress. I needed an expert who would be able to alter the dress for my petite frame but also maintain the beauty and integrity that I fell in love with. There truly was no one better for the task than Roya, and it was also helpful that her schedule was so flexible. I honestly can't say enough praises for Roya and her work, and I am so grateful that she played a major part in making me feel beautiful and confident on one of the most special days of my life!

While I was on the phone I did mention I would have family come with me. (To her defense I don't believe I mention the amount of people in my group). However at no point did she say it would be a problem I took the very first appointment of the day. The shop opened and as I walk in we were greeted by a nice lady (who simply opened the shop and perhaps was organizing the store) We waited to actually meet who would be helping me. A couple minutes pass and the lady walks up with out even saying hello. The first words out of her mouth were "only three people" I giggled and said excuse me? I thought she was making a joke. She then repeats herself saying only three people are allowed in the store because it is too small. At that point I said okay, thank you anyway. In the future I recommend you mention this over the phone when someone is making an appointment. She claimed to have said it over the phone which in fact was a lie. She raised her voice, making everyone feel extremely uncomfortable. She also said it is written on her website so I should have known. However when we spoke the first time I mentioned that I found her through Instagram (I had never even looked at her website) Overall I completely understand if that is the policy they have however there was clearly a much better way to have handled the situation. (Not the way I was hoping to start my wedding dress shopping day) but everything worked out a million times better after that we ended up at Panache Bev Hills where we were greeted with smiles and champagne! I made my purchase that day with Anna!
