In the beginning, it was a little bit more pricey for the food, but it just tasted better. So I didn't mind. The last few times, they cannot seem to get it together while charging higher and higher prices. Last night we visited again, reluctantly. Jimmy John's was across the driveway and a Cracker Barrel across the street. I would've sufficed for that, but my wife wanted some of the extras that only Culver's can give. For a family of four, our bill used to be around $45. Last night it was almost 65. And in a day and age where people are really counting their pennies, it didn't sit right. Let me set the atmosphere for you, we came in to the lobby. Always impeccably clean. We were greeted by the cashier. She was young, helpful and kind. So far so good. Much better than the girl that was at the drive-through window the week before when I just came through late at night to pick up a couple of Sundays you know, the two scoop caramel with cashews? But that's a whole Nother story. Two scoops of ice cream, a bunch of cashews and a hint of caramel for $13? Definitely not worth it. Nor was her attitude. Getting back to last night we ordered four combos. Our girl was very fast and very courteous. So fast that I couldn't keep up with adding the next thing to my order. We asked for two sets of onion rings and two french fries. With multiple burgers, which then became combos. Somehow, we got 5 cups for four people and a slushie drink. The lobby was not busy, which is a rarity for Culver's. We thought this will be easy Peezy. My wife saw the tally and told me not to look at the card reader and just pay it. Lol. This building used to be one of the best. Customer Service was so high. I felt like I was at a Chick-fil-A. (who still holds the bar for accuracy and politeness) my wife wanted to check through the large bags we got before we went out to the car, because they almost always forget something or give you something different. I didn't want to stay in there any longer so we got into the car and yes, we got one onion ring, and three french fry. We sought to go around to the drive-through and have it exchanged, but the line was long and our food would get cold before we get anything done. And that's not really too big of a deal because we like the french fries but also like to get what we ordered and paid for. We got home and as usual, the deluxe burgers that I've loved was once again burnt to a crisp on the outside rim of the burger, and very salty. It's been this way the last three times I've been to Culver's. I know McDonald's can be garbage, but they never burn their burgers. I really don't know what's happened that this has become a consistent thing. Since I have moved to Lansing, Culver's have popped up all over the state. Maybe they are just getting too big to care? I hope not. But the younger generation have attitudes in every bit of their lives, especially in a workplace that they don't appreciate. Many complain that they don't get paid enough to do a good job. I don't know that's the case for Culver's. But something is amiss in their kitchen.

I was walking my dog to the groomers this morning and much to my surprise, a vegan restaurant had popped up by my home! As a vegetarian, it can be pretty difficult finding items on a menu that you can eat without tons of compromises. It's getting better but I shouldn't have to wait 30 min in a drive thru line at BK for an impossible meal because options elsewhere are limited. What I loved about Veg-n was that they offered more than one option when it came to a vegan hamburgers or hotdogs. Vegan chili? Yes please (and it was delicious). The owner said to stay tuned; Veg-n will be offering more goodies in the near future. I got a meal ($1 discount on the addition of chips and drink) and so my Coney Island Chili not dog ($7) , drink ($1), chips ($2), and ($1) cookie was about $10. I was just the right amount of satisfied at the end. Do consider that vegan food (especially the meat substitutes) are usually more pricey than than their meat counterparts. I can see the price point per amount of food being an issue for some folks, especially when every penny counts. I could have spent $8 at BK and potentially gotten slightly more food, but supporting local (and woman owned!) is way more important to me and so I didn't mind spending a few more bucks. This spot is a great addition to the North Town neighborhood and I love that I can keep my money in the community. I absolutely will be back when I'm craving an impossible burger! read more

My husband and I have been hoping that a vegan restaurant might open for a while now, so when we saw that Veg'n was opening up today, we made a plan to go. We ordered a few things to try: the Buffalo Chicken and the Honey Mustard Chicken sandwiches on the artisanal rolls and a Simple Not-Dog. Eating Veg'n's sandwiches made us feel like normal people just going out for a tasty sandwich which has been impossible for a long time! Service was friendly and the food was ready within the prescribed time frame. We did drive through. The artisanal roll is a buttery ciabatta roll with a great crumb - loved it. The chick'n patties are tasty with a good texture. The greens mix was fresh and delicious, and certainly not the limp/wet iceberg you might be used to on a chicken sandwich! The vegan provolone was smoky and creamy. Tartness of the pickles is a good choice for the sandwich ensemble. The Buffalo was our favorite of the two but both were very enjoyable and filling. The Simple Not Dog was like your favorite ballpark frank with a little ketchup. Made me feel nostalgic; texture and taste were right on! We were going to take a picture but ate it before we remembered! It was so good, we forgot! We will definitely be back! read more

I'm not from MI, but I'm staying for a week and was looking for vegan places to eat. I stumbled upon Veg-N and gave it a try. There is no dine-in so do keep that in mind. I just placed our order on their website, and within 15m it was ready! Pulled up to the drive-thru and was met with lovely customer service. We were offered on the house cookies and oh my they were amazing. Got home and unpacked the food to find little peppermints and handwipes in the bag!! I finished my Reuben in 5 minutes it was so good, the patty was soft and juicy and the kraut was perfect. The chili fries were great too - maybe a little sweet for me, but my friend said they were just right for her. Only thing I could ask for would be glaze on the cinnamon roll but I didn't expect any. Just wishful thinking. Overall, great place. The people seem lovely, the food came out fast, and it tasted amazing. I'm only here for a few more days but I will definitely be back, it was just that good. If you like burgers, fries, cookies, or cinnamon rolls you need to check this place out - vegan or not you will love it. read more

I have a GLOWING review to write! Yesterday, I drove up to Lansing to meet up with my girlfriend (she came from Mt. Pleasant, I came from Detroit. 1 hr & 1.5 hours drive but worth it) to check out VEG-N and I am SO glad we did and recommend anyone looking at this to eat there too! It's American classics, so different types sandwiches but probably the best I've ever had! And I drive far and wide for food! It really reminded me of a vegan fast food place but with high quality food and amazing service. The owner was absolutely wonderful and was so sweet, seriously, I asked what kind of plant she had sitting inside and she told me then offered me part of her spider plant! I got the double stack chicken Reuben (my jaw dropped) and my girlfriend got a Hunny mustard BBQ chicken sandwich (her jaw dropped too), they BLEW us away! Run there if you can!!! They also had a few cookies, which were all sooo yummy, but the sandwiches are just a show stopper! Could not have had a better experience! Thanks, VEG-N! read more

First off as a big meat eater and ex restaurant manager, I can be a harsh critic. If someone gave me this burger and fries and didn't tell me they were 100% vegan I would have no idea. The black bean bbq burger was amazing. Everything from the bun to toppings was fresh and flavorful. It was better than a lot of burgers I've had. Then I got to the fire fries, perfectly cooked, sauced and topped. The flavor combos are insane but just right. Don't get me started on the cookies I was so full and still smashed the heck out of them. I highly recommend everything here. The portions are nice, I'm so full and I eat alot. To eat sustainably for the earth, get amazing food and help a small business, it is worth more than what you pay. Open your mind to vegan foods, Whole Foods and overall new things. You won't be disappointed. read more

I have ordered take-out from here three times and each sandwich has been consistently good. I love sour kraut and pickles, so their reuben style toppings are my go-to. I've had the veggie patty, the black bean patty, and the tofu "chicken." I enjoyed all of them, though I did switch from the vegan cheese to dairy. The staff is fast and friendly. Had my first vegan cookie (chocolate chip) there and it was delicious. I recommend the double-patty for those like me with a bigger appetite. Tried Veg-n today for the first time. I am so thankful to have a restaurant that is dedicated to vegetarian and vegan options, as there is nothing else like that in the Lansing area. First they steal tips from employees, then when the employees organize to get their money they retaliate by demoting the person who was advocating for the employees getting the tips they deserved. Now they're bribing customers with free cookies so that they leave positive reviews so that they can try to drown out any reviews that are calling them out for their bad actions. This isn't the work of trolls like they try to claim, but is an effort by former employees and their allies to hold bad business owners accountable for their actions. read more
