I gotta say for the past seven years I have been a Culver's fan. Though I really can't tell the difference between a butter, burger, deluxe, and a Deluxe hamburger, the taste has always brought me back. In the beginning, it was a little bit more pricey for the food, but it just tasted better. So I didn't mind. The last few times, they cannot seem to get it together while charging higher and higher prices. Last night we visited again, reluctantly. Jimmy John's was across the driveway and a Cracker Barrel across the street. I would've sufficed for that, but my wife wanted some of the extras that only Culver's can give. For a family of four, our bill used to be around $45. Last night it was almost 65. And in a day and age where people are really counting their pennies, it didn't sit right. Let me set the atmosphere for you, we came in to the lobby. Always impeccably clean. We were greeted by the cashier. She was young, helpful and kind. So far so good. Much better than the girl that was at the drive-through window the week before when I just came through late at night to pick up a couple of Sundays you know, the two scoop caramel with cashews? But that's a whole Nother story. Two scoops of ice cream, a bunch of cashews and a hint of caramel for $13? Definitely not worth it. Nor was her attitude. Getting back to last night we ordered four combos. Our girl was very fast and very courteous. So fast that I couldn't keep up with adding the next thing to my order. We asked for two sets of onion rings and two french fries. With multiple burgers, which then became combos. Somehow, we got 5 cups for four people and a slushie drink. The lobby was not busy, which is a rarity for Culver's. We thought this will be easy Peezy. My wife saw the tally and told me not to look at the card reader and just pay it. Lol. This building used to be one of the best. Customer Service was so high. I felt like I was at a Chick-fil-A. (who still holds the bar for accuracy and politeness) my wife wanted to check through the large bags we got before we went out to the car, because they almost always forget something or give you something different. I didn't want to stay in there any longer so we got into the car and yes, we got one onion ring, and three french fry. We sought to go around to the drive-through and have it exchanged, but the line was long and our food would get cold before we get anything done. And that's not really too big of a deal because we like the french fries but also like to get what we ordered and paid for. We got home and as usual, the deluxe burgers that I've loved was once again burnt to a crisp on the outside rim of the burger, and very salty. It's been this way the last three times I've been to Culver's. I know McDonald's can be garbage, but they never burn their burgers. I really don't know what's happened that this has become a consistent thing. Since I have moved to Lansing, Culver's have popped up all over the state. Maybe they are just getting too big to care? I hope not. But the younger generation have attitudes in every bit of their lives, especially in a workplace that they don't appreciate. Many complain that they don't get paid enough to do a good job. I don't know that's the case for Culver's. But something is amiss in their kitchen. read more

I live not even a half mile from it and have gone to it for years and will be driving out of my way when I want Culver's going forward. This location has turned to complete garbage. I always love coming to Michigan and a visit isn't complete without a stop at Culver's! We actually came here by default when the original place we chose for brunch was closed due to staff COVID cases. Fortunately they weren't busy, although the drive thru was! We ordered three fish dinners and one fish sandwich meal. Their fish is always hot and fresh. I like that they give you a big tub of tarter sauce, and that they have malt vinegar packets at the condiments table. I'm not upset about the other place being closed as my days in Michigan were winding down. Still, it was a cheap fast food dinner - over $50 for four people. read more

3.5- the owner/manager is mad cool. Damn you Erich! Oh well, I'll throw in my two cents. Evidently Culvers is huge in the Wisconsin area, but prior to them coming to Okemos, I had never heard of them. The manager used to come in to the bank I used to work at and always tell us to come in and try their stuff. Culver's big deal is they have the "buttered buns", quite simply they would butter the buns, and then put them on the grill. In my one and only trip, I had a bacon cheeseburger, fries and a coke. The fries were crinkle cut and reminded me of Ore Ida fries- nothing bad, but I'd expect more from a fast food chain. The bacon cheeseburger was good, but also not great. I liken my exp. here to eating at a nice company cafe. Again, if not for the manager, I probably would have never gone here. Throw in the fact that it's located right next to Wal-Mart, and that's a huge area that I make it a point to avoid. Bottom line- average. If you happen to be shopping at Wal-mart, this place ain't bad, if you can't wait 10 minutes to go else where. read more

We have been going to Culver's for some time. We were first introduced in the Chicago area and now we try and find a Culver's when we are on the road. The reason we do this is because Culver's realty is a cut above most fast food places. The burgers and other dishes are all made to order. The burgers are really very good for a fast food joint. They come single, double and even triple and they are available in lots of nice variations including one on grilled Sourdough with cheese and grilled onions. The ice cream too is very nice and homemade tasting. The fries are good and the other fried dishes are good as well. I should say that I have found the onion rings a little disappointing. But on this visit, I stuck my neck out and instead of ordering a "Butter Burger", Culver's signature name for its burgers, I decided to order a four piece fried chicken dinner. It was surprisingly good. The chicken was nice and fresh. It was served hot and the pieces of chicken were large and satisfying. It was served with a biscuit, mashed potatoes and gravy and with green beans. Next time I think I will go with french fries instead of the mashed. The green beans were fresh tasting too. So we had a nice economical freshly prepared meal at the new Culvers in Okemos. This place is alright! read more

My family and I have been going to Culvers for a few years since it was built in Okemos. Culvers offers a wider range of menu selections than standard fast food. This makes it easier for our family since my wife isn't into the fast food fare. She does enjoy the fish dinners here however. I enjoy the pork tenderloin sandwich with fried onions, lettuce, barbecue sauce and pickles. Kids can get a "Scoopy" kids meal. This includes a decent sized meal plus two paper coupons. One is for a free kids scoop of I've cream. The other is a Scoopy point. Once you collect 10 Scoopy points they can be traded in for free kids meals or prizes such as a footbal, soccer ball or tshirt. Culver's is a real treat if you have never been to one. It is a Midwest regional chain and the Okemos location is brand new. If you know what Culver's is, you already know it's something good to have nearby. If you aren't familiar, Culver's is an "upscale" fast food joint. They specialize in "Butterburgers," which is just their name for burgers. They're easily the best burgers in fast food because of the meat quality. Also on the menu are some good chicken items, fish, even Walleye. You'll pay more to eat here than at most fast food places, say $6 for that combo instead of $5, but you ought to be willing to pay. Heads up - they bring the food out to your table instead of making you wait at the counter, so don't just stand up there like a dufus wondering why they're handing you a plastic number. Also delicious is the frozen custard. Soooo tasty, and somehow it's always better right after a good burger. read more

They are quick with service and polite. The food is always cooked properly and I've never had a problem with anything. The bathrooms are kept clean; no overflowing trash, no dirty mirrors, etc. Prices are a bit high for something considered "fast food", but for the quality and service you receive I'd say it's fair. Other Culver's in the area don't compare - bad wait times, incorrect orders and terrible service are just some of the things I've found with the others. read more

Ordered a double cheeseburger meal and had an Oreo concrete mixer for dessert. Burger garnishments can be customized. Burger was moist and very flavorful. Fries were OK. Culver's is an above-average fast food restaurant where you can get really good burgers and fries and treat yourself to a variety of tasty desserts. Now, I'm much more of a DQ Blizzard fan than a Culver's Concrete Mixer fan, but without any standalone Dairy Queen restaurants in the greater Lansing area, Culver's is a good stand-in. You're pretty much getting the same final product with a Concrete Mixer as a Blizzard, only Culver's uses frozen custard which is much richer as a base. However, because of the higher fat content, it also melts faster which is a turnoff for me. As for the restaurant itself, I've always experienced good customer service, a high level of cleanliness, and general accuracy in my order. I'd recommend the butter burgers, but their entrees are all very good too, including the chicken strips and various melts. If you're feeling indulgent, swap out your fries for fried cheese curds. read more

By far the best Burger in the Midwest Great burgers, the only better fast food burger you'll find is In-N-Out, but you won't find that out here. The ice cream is custard based and great. Their fish sandwiches are good, quality flaky Cod -- not minced pollack. They also server chicken and fish dinners on a plate, but I've never tried. read more

This place is great. It's the only place to get a concrete mixer and some cheese curds. The food is always hot and prepared quickly. If you've never been, they bring your order to the table which is great if you have a lot of kids to manage. It's not unusual for the staff to also check in on you during your meal to make sure everything is satisfactory. They recently renovated the dining area with new booths. I've been to better Culver's lets just say that. I would like to think of myself as an expert of sorts when it comes to a Culver's restaurant, as I go to one almost every week. The decor was a little different from what I'm used to, but it's solid. My fries were pretty crispy, which was another knock on it. My burger patty was pretty small, and it looked like it was torn in half. The cheese wasn't melted completely, but I'm not too picky on that. Service was good.
