This ER vet is open concept, meaning you can see what the vets are working on and doing to pets. Very interesting, never been to anything like it before but it was a nice change. We came in and were warmly greeted and attended. We got helped relatively right away and it took about an hour or two to get results. Everything went smooth and all our questions were addressed. It is costly. The er initial visit fee is 215 + recommended diagnostic services . I paid about $1600

On Thanksgiving, our elderly pet rat, Apricot, suddenly became lethargic and developed labored breathing. Rats are wonderful pets, but their lifespan is short, and they're prone to tumors. Apricot had developed a mammary tumor a few months prior and was nearly two years old. It was clear she was in distress, and we felt the most humane choice was to end her suffering. We assumed nothing would be open on a holiday, but I called VEG after remembering their location next to the Vons I visit. The receptionist was kind and told us to come in right away for euthanasia. When we arrived, the large main treatment area was focused on a critical case involving a Labrador, with a family gathered nearby. There were comfortable couches in a waiting area with plenty of room. We were placed in a private room to wait, which was thoughtfully designed to feel calm and comforting. It had soft lighting, gentle music, electric candles, a fragrance diffuser, and even a memory book where we wrote about Apricot while we waited. It was sweet to read what others had written too. That space made a difficult moment more manageable. Over about 45 minutes, staff checked in on us regularly, offering water and explaining the process. Once available, the doctor discussed euthanasia options. Unlike our regular vet, who uses gas, they explained that they prefer intravenous injection for a more controlled and peaceful passing. However, due to Apricot's size and likely dehydration, accessing a vein was extremely difficult. Multiple staff members attempted carefully to find one in her tail, but it was understandably challenging. The remaining option was an intracardiac injection--a needle through her chest into the heart. Apricot was already minimally responsive, and we agreed to proceed. I stepped out, while my husband stayed with her. He said she reacted briefly but passed almost immediately. This wasn't an easy experience, but the staff handled it with honesty, patience, and respect. They kept us informed at every step and treated both us and Apricot with dignity, never once making us feel like she was "just a rat". A few days later, we received a sympathy card signed by what looked like the entire team. That unexpected gesture meant a great deal to our family. With all the pets over my lifetime and all the euthanasia we've had for them, never once did a vet send us a sympathy card. We expected a high emergency holiday cost, especially given the circumstances, but the total was about $200, only slightly more than our regular vet. While euthanasia for small animals like rats can be technically difficult, we're grateful VEG was available when we needed immediate help. Everyone, from receptionist to vet tech to nurse to doctor was kind and gentle. I would return for future care, especially in urgent situations.

Huge thank you to this place! My pup was recently neutered, and while I was at work I had a sitter watching him who accidentally gave him a double dose of his medication. My regular vet was closed, and this was the only place in the entire valley that was able to provide clear guidance and reassurance on how to move forward. As a first-time dog dad, I was definitely panicking, but they took the time to walk me through everything and immediately put me at ease. I'm incredibly grateful for their help, professionalism, and compassion. Truly appreciate the support and guidance, thank you so much!

Its long but worth it if you love your pet . *** Dr. Yashiri the director graduated in 2017 Dr. Abed head doctor graduated in 2020 and Brooke Midgal graduated 8 months ago. These people combined have 15 years of experience. I brought my English bulldog here for a hurt leg . Dr. Migdal saw her and wanted to give her methadone because my girl was worked up.The doctor said it would calm her down. It made my dog worse with almost uncontrolled panting . The doctor walks over and says , I dont like the way shes breathing ...I thought" no shit." So the doctor says I want to give her something to calm her down . WTF isnt that what the methadone was ? The vet didnt properly explain side effects the oxygen was barely on , I know because I put my hand to it. I asked for my money back and the vet said she would return it once I left. My dog has not stopped panting so they wanted to give her midazolam after the methadone and narcan. I pretty much wasnt given a choice because her breathing was so bad. She is now intubated but breathing ok.I asked dr. Midgal how long she has been a vet , she didnt answer, i said years? She said yes . Turns out shes only been a vet 8 months. Is that ethical ? Then theres Jasmin. She was on the phone with Dr. Betty whom i assume is one of the main vets here. The doctor asked how my baby was and jasmine couldnt get up to walk 10 steps to ask the only competent person, ( Gail) here how stella was doing . Jasmines response was i can hear breathing . Then proceeded to laugh about who knows what. I spent a while on the phone with doctor Abeti who couldnt do anything but apologize. I let here know that her staff is a reflection on her. I asked her to come down and she didnt want to because she lives an hour away i told so did I and ill be missing work tomorrow she didnt care . Im waiting for the director to call me tomorrow. I forgot to mention that while my dog was suffering the vet was in the back doing who knows what. I sent two people to call her but she took her sweet time . Im so mad at myself I should of taken her where I usually go, VCA WLA but i thought since it was just to check her leg it would be fine . So I would really reconsider bringing your special breeds here . The star for the nurse Gail that explained things and provided some assurance. Gail stayed with my dog the whole time , she missed lunch and probably her breaks. She was heaven sent . So it is now 444am. A sick dog came in and 2 techs were wearing gowns and taking precautions, why did the vet ( migdal) go into the room with the sick dog without protective gear and her laptop and then try to go back to where my girl is. The tube is out and Dr. Abedi wants to jump on a teleahealth call with a critical care team on the east coast because she feels I don't trust them. Mind you , we are on the 8th dose of medicine and my angel still isnt awake. Now Dr.Abedi called Dr.Jan Hall a critical specialist out of Torrance who was extremely rude because I asked why they keep reversing medications that they insist on giving her. Dr. Jan said "its 440 in the morning , its fine." The dismissive attitude is disgusting. Now they've offered me a transport ambulance to VCAWLA. Because its obvious they cant handle this. The egos here are tremendous and it should of said they arent equipped to care for EBD. They keep saying this is common. But in almost 4 years , ear infection, ACL surgery, eye issue and i never experienced anything like this. At 520am Lindsay got the director Johnathan yashari on the phone. Instead of taking responsibility he said this happens often I tried to express upon him that if I was properly informed about medication side effects I would have left this place and went to VCA. This man made excuses about the breed , the desert , the ocean ...did everything but apologize for his inept staff. Just a total stressful, traumatic, emotional and financial doozy of a night . Please reconsider this place of you have an EBD. I think this is that update . They x rayed by baby and found possible pneumonia from panting. I also think they x rayed the wrong leg. But its 7am and im to tired to go another round with these people. We should be going home soon with a bunch of medication we didnt need 12 hours ago. *** Dr. Abeti is now recommending 24 hour monitoring. She ordered an ambulance to take me girl to VCA WLA. Let see if they will pay for her stay there . To be continued.. Now the director wants the monitoring to paid by me 4-5k. The audacity of these people!

When we first went in the place had a bad stench. It was urine and it looked like a Mash unit on TV. Dr. Harris came over to us and with her beautiful and warm smile was very gentle with our dog. Our dog had not eaten for a day and our Vet could not see her that day and had recommended this place. Dr. Harris felt her back and said she had a slipped disc and said she was in pain. Our dog had been licking herself a lot on her leg so Dr.Harris had her staff clean it up and give her something for the pain. She gave her a nerve medication and she was back to her old self. Lexi and Jasmine were very caring with our dog and gentle. They treated her with respect. They gave her a shot and cleaned up her wound. Appearances aren't always what you think. They had cleaned up the urine and the place was looking better. We had walked in when triage was going on. Dr. Harris is very intelligent and knowledgeable. In some ways she reminds me of Hawkeye and Trapper on Mash. She's a little unconventional but it works ! If I needed emergency treatment for my dog I would certainly take her back here.

I was scared to go to this place because it is located in the more expensive side of Santa Clarita and it just looked too polished for an animal hospital. I worried even more when the staff was positive and encouraging, keeping us involved in the whole process. Like, what's the catch... right? But now that I am home and have checked the bill, I am amazed that this was not just a big show. The positivity and encouragement was authentic! My pup had to have stomach surgery following ingestion of copper wire and, although we had insurance, it was not nearly enough to cover a full range of services for care. The doctor walked me through the pricing and eliminated any charge that could possibly be put aside. I ended up spending only 25% of what I originally thought I would have to pay. The doctors and nurses are truly professional. They carry the same sense of urgency and patient care as any human ER staff. Two dogs came in for emergency surgery prior to my pup getting her surgery. The doctors worked back to back surgeries and when I told one that I hope he gets some rest he said "this is my rest! I love it!" I think that the culture of positivity might be very well done in an arena like this. It can give hope and positive outcomes for families and can ensure that good things can happen even when hope is fading. My takeaways -- don't ever skimp on pet insurance esp if you have a puppy! -and- if your puppy is in danger, go to VEG!

I brought my sweet girl, Lila, into the ER on March 4th and it turned into the most heartbreaking day of my life. From the moment we walked in, every single person treated Lila with such tenderness and love. You could feel how much they truly cared, not just about her, but about me too. They spoke to her gently, handled her with such compassion, and made sure she felt safe. When we had to make the impossible decision to let her go, they gave us the time, space, and kindness to say goodbye in a peaceful and dignified way. I was completely shattered, and the doctor giving me a hug in that moment meant more than I will ever be able to express. Thank you for loving my Lila in her final moments and for showing me so much compassion when I needed it most. I will carry that with me forever.

I can't say enough good things about VEG ER For Pets. From the moment we walked in, the entire staff made both me and my Whiskey feel completely at home. They allowed me to stay with her every step of the way, treated her with such kindness, and were incredibly patient and gentle with her. We came in thinking she might have a UTI, and it turned out she had a yeast infection. The doctor even let me see it under the microscope... something I've never experienced at any other vet. That special touch meant so much to me. Every single person we encountered was caring, professional, and genuinely loving toward Whiskey. It's rare to find a place that treats pets and their humans with such thoughtfulness. I will definitely recommend this place to all my family and friends.

Just wanted to share my amazing experience at VEG (Veterinary Emergency Group) in Stevenson Ranch. A week ago today had to take my 12 year old boxer to the emergency vet. It was 2am and I was panicking as he had just had a seizure. From the moment we arrived we were greeted at curbside and they made sure he was taken care of. From the vet, to every single person in the room, they showed compassion. After a few hours of testing and ultrasounds, we had to make the decision to put him to sleep. They were compassionate, caring and supportive and made sure my boy had his Starbucks pup-cups as a last treat. Today, I received the following card in the mail. Signed by every single person in the room that morning. If you ever need compassionate care, I highly recommend them. I'm truly thankful I found them! Thank you Dr. Migdal for your honesty and for taking the time to throughly examine my boy. To the staff, thank you for making my Rocky's departure a little easier.

Our first visit here was today. My poor little Chihuahua had grumpy tummy and she just wasn't acting right. Although it wasn't the biggest emergency ever, VEG saw her and took great care of her. I like their setup where you are able to keep your pet with you (Tulip promptly fell asleep on me) and the entire staff was so kind and helpful. It's an emergency vet, so it's not going to be a quick visit (especially for something small on a Sunday morning), but when I had something personal that came up that I needed to take care of quickly, they were so gracious and kept my dog so I could attend to my logistics emergency with my family. The facility is very nice. As a previous vet tech, I was definitely impressed. The Dr's are all very kind & appropriately triaged pets. In an emergency, this is so easy having VEG in town!

Backstory: one of my dogs woke up on a Friday unable to open his eye, which quickly turned into an infection and I spent 2 days trying to find a vet / urgent care to take him to near my home in North Hollywood. Every hospital in LA that I called, I was either met with an immediate "hello, please hold" (for 20 minutes), capacity already met, an absurd wait time with no promise of being seen, or unsympathetic staff saying "an eye infection is not an emergency". I called SC Animal Urgent Care & Wellness Center at 7:08pm on a SUNDAY, arrived at 7:45pm and was seen by Dr. Mousa by 7:55pm! From the second the receptionist answered the phone, I knew I was in good hands. She was extremely compassionate & quickly took my information, along with my dogs symptoms and told me to come right in to be seen by Dr. Mousa. Dr. Mousa is a GOD SEND!!! I am so blessed to have found him. Dr. Mousa examined & handled my dog with so much care and explained that he had an corneal ulcer which was quickly deteriorating his cornea and that if I had not brought him in immediately, he would have lost his eye (which was still a possibility at that point due to the 2 day wait trying to find a vet/hospital). Dr. Mousa's urgency along with his care, compassion and knowledge is the type of service you expect and deserve when you go to a hospital concerned, stressed and scared for your dog. Lexi (vet assistant) is phenomenal & so sweet!!! Lexi treated my dog like he was her own and she explained every step of what was happening and why, then what would be next. She even shared a story about her cat with me to show how she related to me in that moment. They are an amazing team and will give your pets the best car!

This is not my first review of our beloved Dr G, and I just recommended her to 6 more people again just these past 2 weeks. I always say to people I give her card to: "you will discover she is an Earth Angel - if she moved to a different town, I'd take my pup there... When you find a great vet, they are Gold! She's not only compassionate, present and knowledgeable, but also she does not oversell." Besides all the regular check ups, Dr G. has performed 2 substantial surgeries on my pup in the last 8 years, and has been extremely kind, providing valuable reassuring step-by-step updates throughout, especially aware that I had lost my beloved first dog, (with a different vet), when he did not make it through the anesthesia... In the 8 years Dr G. has been our one and only vet; everyone I have sent to Dr G. has fallen in love with her, and has thanked me for the referral. I trusted Dr G and her small compassionate team with the euthanasia of my precious second dog, Handsome. She is truly an Angel on Earth. At her Chatsworth location, I love that she's created a lovingly cozy "home environment" for the euthanasia experience. I found her many years ago when I was dissatisfied with a busy veterinary front desk in Sherman Oaks, after they had made errors in my first dog's chart. Unfortunately he passed, and I learned that finding the RIGHT professional truly makes ALL the difference. So yes, I drive from Sherman Oaks. Gratefully so :) I am thankful that my cherished pups are her patients. Her ethics, her care, her kindness, her knowledge, her integrity - she's our number 1!!!

We are deeply grateful and highly recommend them to anyone seeking a veterinary team that truly cares.

The nurses, technicians, and other veterinarians we interacted with were kind, caring, and professional. They treated both my cat and my family with empathy, and I am grateful for that. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Howard was extremely disappointing. I found her to be rude, impatient, and dismissive. Every question felt like an inconvenience, and instead of feeling supported, I felt rushed and judged during an already heartbreaking situation. I understand that veterinarians have demanding jobs and see difficult cases every day. But for pet owners, these are not just cases, they are family members. A little kindness and empathy can make a huge difference when someone is facing the possible loss of a beloved pet. Afterward, we sought a second opinion from another veterinarian. After reviewing my cat's case, that veterinarian raised concerns about some of Dr. Howard's medical decisions and approach to treatment. Hearing that only reinforced the doubts I already had about the care we received. I would not recommend Dr. Howard to pet owners who are looking for a veterinarian who communicates with empathy and patience.

From the moment I arrived, my dog was taken to the back without anyone asking me to explain what was wrong or allowing me to be part of the initial assessment. My dog remained in the back for about an hour and a half before anyone spoke with me. I was eventually brought into an exam room--without my dog-and presented with a treatment plan and an estimate. As a pet owner, I expected to be involved much sooner and to have someone take the time to listen before making recommendations. I spent nearly five hours at the clinic, yet very little of that time involved communication or updates. Most of it was simply waiting, wondering what was happening with my dog. The payment policy was equally frustrating. You're given a low-end and high-end estimate, but you're required to pay the highest amount up front before any treatment is provided. When the original services aren't all used, it feels like other charges are added to bring the total closer to what you've already paid. Whether that's the intent or not, it leaves the impression that the estimate is structured to ensure customers pay the highest amount possible. The one bright spot was one veterinary technician who was kind, gentle, and genuinely caring with the animals. She showed the empathy and compassion that I wish had been reflected throughout the entire clinic. I also noticed that many negative reviews receive the same generic response asking customers to call the office. Respectfully, this experience wasn't the result of a simple misunderstanding-it reflected the overall way the clinic operates. I won't be returning unless I have absolutely no other choice. Veterinary care should combine medical expertise with compassion, communication, and respect for both pets and their owners. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.

A lady came out not to greet us but told us that they close at 11PM due to new management and this is place is sold to another company. The doctor was seeing the last patient of the day and was referring us to another clinic in Glendora. We told her to please ask the doctor to take a look at our cat. We are willing to pay double the visiting fee. She went in for about 5 minutes and then another gentleman came out and told us the same thing. The clinic was sold and we close at 11PM now, etc. I took out my phone and showed him that it's 10:27PM. He said they wouldn't have enough time to do procedures to our cat. I told him our cat is old and he can't handle that much pressure anymore going to Glendora.. Long story short, this place has last call like some high end restaurant and I'm guessing everyone wants to get off work right at 11PM. Good luck with the "new management last call clinic". Getting off work is their first priority and not saving pets lives!

My Experience with MAMA'S Howling Pups is a story…read more... On April 1, 2019 I called Ashley after getting her contact phone number from a simple google search. I was very excited because Siberian Husky was a dream for me since 2012. So, I was pretty sure to look for a good breeder and I found one. I sent my information to Ashley through imessage and she sent me pictures of Kody & Kira and said that these are going to be the Mom & Dad of your pup. Now I was really excited because my actual plan was to surprise my girlfriend on her birthday and I can bring the puppy home any day around her birthday which was a very convenient birthday surprise. On April 2, 2019 Ashley and I became Facebook friends and I saw her MAMA's Howling Pups pages on social media platforms and we gained more trust on each other. On the same day, I confirmed her that I'm getting my Siberian Husky from her and I wanted a female. So, my status was "1st reserved female". I was interested in getting a Husky puppy with a specific mask, a black mask with white eyebrows and I wasn't interested in the eye color because Ashley told me and made me understand that eye color doesn't matter as long as they have healthy eyes. On April 25, 2019 Kira was popping out the babies and I already decided a name for my puppy and it was 'Sharvara' (google it) and Sharvara was born as the 5th puppy and she didn't have the mask I wanted (no cute eyebrows) but she looked like a little panda baby but there was a baby with the mask I wanted but it's a male baby and my friend Leny chose him. Ashley said we are having another litter pretty soon, if you don't like her mask we will wait until the next litter and see if that litter has a female puppy with the mask you wanted but I really liked Sharvara for the panda look. I said it's alright Ashley, I will take this one. But I went crazy on April 30, 2019. Mila & Kody's litter - Mila had her babies on April 30, 2019 and she had a puppy (a female) with the exact mask I wanted. My mind was changing but I cannot just give up on Sharvara for the mask! Okay what do I do? I asked my girlfriend, if we ever get a puppy? what would you name her? she said 'Aaira'. I was like, okay I'm getting another puppy from this litter as well and named her Aaira. Normally dogs (especially Siberian Huskies) are pack animals and they have communal brain. They do well when they are together with a minimum of 2 huskies. I searched all over the internet about getting 2 huskies at one time because this was a surprise event for me. I never thought that I would have 2 huskies. After my research, I found that handling 2 huskies is a lot easier than handling 1 lonely husky and that's the truth because I'm experiencing it right now. Ashley has separate group chats for each litter in FB messenger app where you can socialize with your sibling puppy parents. She shared pictures as they opened their eyes and she sends pictures with their weights each week. On June 23, 2019 (for 2 months puppies stay with their mothers) I was able to bring Sharvara and Aaira home but I was doomed because my stupid apartment community didn't allow siberian huskies. I had to move to a new community. I gave a 30-day notice and I cannot keep the puppies at my home. I texted Ashley and asked her what to do, because I cannot entrust anyone else but Ashley with my puppies and leaving them at her house with 1 month boarding charges was the best idea. So, the same evening I went back to her house and left them at her house. We were really sad. On July 20, 2019 I moved to a new community which is very dog friendly and allowed Siberian Huskies and it was time to pick Sharvara and Aaira. I was very excited but scared at the same time because when I brought them to that stupid community, they pissed and pooped everywhere in the house. I was surprised to see they didn't poop/piss inside the house. Guess what? ASHLEY TRAINED THEM TOO in that 1 month (She could have chosen not to train them, but she did! she cares) Thank You Ashley We love you!

From the very first call, it was absolutely amazing--he representative was so patient, understanding, and genuinely thoughtful about my loss. He made a painful situation feel a little less overwhelming. Nala was picked up within the hour, and the individual who came to get her was incredibly kind and gentle. He never rushed us, gave us all the time we needed to say our goodbyes, and handled my baby with so much care. He expressed his condolences both when he arrived and before he left, which meant more to us than he probably knows. He also took the time to answer every question and address all of our concerns before leaving. The process took about two weeks, but during that time I received updates on Nala and on her wooden urn, which I truly appreciated. The communication was excellent. So I drove over and lo and behold, they had three fancy mice - one white one with slightly long fur, and two mice that were black and white. The two black and white mice didn't look to be in tip top health though, with both appearing to be sort of hunch-backed. Even so, I asked to see one of them, and got to hold her, and decided to bring her home as a friend for my calico mouse. The staff was very compassionate about the mice and assured he she would quarantine the other black and white one (who looked significantly less well) and have their vet take a look at her. She also confirmed I was only looking for a mouse as a pet, and not for some other purpose. I had to enter my name, address, phone number and email into their system to purchase this mouse. I didn't love that part, but I guess I understand their concern when selling live pets. Overall the store was clean, the pets I saw looked to be in good health (except for these two mice, one of which I did end up buying). The staff I interacted with were all friendly and professional.
