On December 1, 2025, my pup looked at me, and I knew it was time. Our family had called upon Dr. Gonzalez before, so there was no question in my mind who to call again. Unlike our previous experience where we were able to book ahead of time and plan for our pup's passing, this was a circumstance where our baby needed immediate services -- his body was failing. Once I saw our senior 13-yr old pup was telling me it was okay, I called Dr. Gonzalez at 7pm. She was at our home by 10pm. Our pup had been sick for several years, and in that last week, our primary vet had already told us his health was declining, so we at least knew the end was near. And I had already mentally prepared to be strong and let him go when he needed to -- so I had Dr. Gonzalez's number on hand. We live in an apartment building, so we reserved a spot for her in our lot as close as possible to an exit. She came upstairs to our home, and she had brought all her equipment. I had already imagined how I wanted this experience to go for my once in a lifetime soul pup. I sat on his favorite place on the sofa, and I had him in my lap. Dr. Gonzalez gave me a pee pad to wrap around him within the blanket understanding there could be an accident in the process as his body released his spirit. I had a candle lit. I had soft music playing. We had low lighting on to honor what was about to happen. Dr. Gonzalez was also super accommodating to our 2nd puppy who was curious about her and wondering what was happening to his big brother. She didn't shoo him away -- she invited us to keep the puppy around so he can know his big brother was about to pass on. She gave us time to speak to Nuxx, love on him, and then let him go. Then, it finally happened. And Dr. Gonzalez stepped out of our apartment for awhile, giving our little family time to grieve, sob, and hold our baby close. Our puppy sniffed him too and said his goodbyes. Then she came back, and she asked us if we wanted to be the ones to carry him out or she was happy to do so. My husband carried him, myself and our puppy followed along -- felt like a procession down our apartment hallway. We got to Dr. Gonzalez's car, and we gently placed our baby's body in her car, and said our goodbyes again. Then...it was done. Throughout the experience, Dr. Gonzalez was so incredibly supportive, gentle, understanding, and patient. What else can you ask for when such a heartbreaking thing is occurring? When a spirit is literally fading in your arms? I am still not over losing him, but at least I know we gave him the most peaceful send-off we could: in his own home, in our arms, surrounded by so much love. If / when we need to go through again, I will continue to call on Dr. Gonzalez. RIP Nuxx. read more

Gemcore cancer to my house to put my 14 1/2 year old dog to sleep, so I can't say it was a great experience. It was a terrible experience. But that was not the fault of the provider, just the fault of what I was having to do. The vet was very nice and very patient. I'm so sorry I can't even remember her name because everything happened so quickly and it's all such a blur, but she answered my call at almost 10:00 p.m. while she was driving, when no one else answered. The last thing you want when your fur baby is suffering is to reach voicemail after voicemail. Hearing a compassionate human voice on the other end of the phone brought me so much comfort. She came to my home first thing the next morning. I was worried about my younger Golden Retriever jumping on her or interfering with her care, but she was absolutely wonderful with both of my dogs. Out of the corner of my eye, while I was saying my final words and paying my last tributes to my girl, I saw her quietly wiping tears from her eyes. As a healthcare provider myself, I know how often we're expected to wear a mask and stay composed. Seeing that genuine emotion didn't make her seem less professional, it reassured me that she truly cared. In those final moments, your mind races. You question whether you're making the right decision. Seeing her emotion gave me peace because I knew she wasn't simply going through the motions. I knew that if she believed my girl wasn't ready, she would have told me. Most of us are fortunate enough to experience this kind of heartbreak only a few times in our lives. She carries families through it over and over again. That takes an incredible amount of compassion. After making the horrible decision to let our almost 16 year old little girl cross over the rainbow bridge, a friend recommended their services after having experienced letting his kitty cross over. In the 8 years Dr G. has been our one and only vet; everyone I have sent to Dr G. has fallen in love with her, and has thanked me for the referral. I trusted Dr G and her small compassionate team with the euthanasia of my precious second dog, Handsome. She is truly an Angel on Earth. At her Chatsworth location, I love that she's created a lovingly cozy "home environment" for the euthanasia experience. That it so needed during that deeply emotional time, and more veterinary offices ought to follow her example. I called Gemcore multiple times that I annoyed myself. I canceled Kiba's home euthanasia because I thought he was good and we could manage his issues. But then he started to decline. Our 18 and a half year old companion and little love of our lives, was losing steam. I thought I could push the appt out and stretch out my time with our senior yorkie but as the days passed, everything became more difficult for him so I called and rescheduled and rescheduled. They were always pleasant and accommodating. They never gave me a hard time. Finally, Dr Gonzalez came over and helped our Kiba transition. After seeing a vet, we realized our dog's health was rapidly declining. It was important to us to keep him comfortable and minimize his suffering. We opted to do in home euthanasia. Our dog, Kloud, passed in the comfort of home while being surrounded by loved ones. I first called gemcore around 10:30pm. No one picked up the phone, but I did get an automated text message with a link to their website. On the website, I booked a midnight appointment. Later I got a call to confirm the appointment and notification of the off hours cost. Dr. Gonzalez arrived. She was very kind and professional. I appreciated that she took off her shoes when she entered the house and saw we didn't have shoes on. She gave me information and started setting up the supplies. She walked us step by step. She first administered a sedative to put Kloud in a calm state. Then she administered propofol which put kloud in a dream like state. Lastly, she administered the euthanasia. Between each step she primed and flushed with saline. And she checked his pulse and symptoms to ensure each step is going as planned and that Kloud is as comfortable as possible. Once Kloud transitioned, she let us know. She gave us time for last moments with him. Someone joined her to carry Kloud away. Kloud is a German shepherd who is over 80 pounds. So definitely a big dog to carry. They carried him in a very nice way. Wrapped in blankets. We did a procession to the transportation vehicle. That was our send away. I highly recommend gemcore for such a tough time. They are 24/7, kind and thorough. They made a hard experience as best as it could be. They ensured our dog was comfortable and the process was ceremonious. Thank you Dr. Gonzalez and Gemcore for your kindness!!! read more
