What an amazing place. I've been bringing my dog to Stephs Happy Dogs for over five years. They are so caring and loving. My dog starts yelping when he knows we're turning the corner to come up the driveway. If you bring your own food, all the dogs get fed breakfast at 8 AM. If you bring dinner, they all get fed at 4 PM. Their rate is the best in town! They even do overnight stays if needed. Can't say enough good things about this place. We tried Steph's Happy Dogs to board our pup for a weekend getaway in 2024 based on Yelp reviews, and were not disappointed. Our pup enjoyed his time there, and came home tired and happy from playing with other pups. Our pup recently spent a few days there again this month (June 2025) when we needed to go out of state to take care of some family business, and again, he had a great time. I've been using them for the better half of a year, I've used their daycare and overnight services and you absolutely couldn't ask for anything better. Prices are incredibly fair and cheap and the owners obviously love dogs and my dog would rather stay with them than come back with me(doesn't even turn back to look at me as he goes inside :"). They were one of the few daycares who were willing to respond to me about his medical accommodation and didn't make me feel guilty for asking and they are incredibly sweet people. My dog always comes back very happy and exhausted from playtime. I am a very anxious person who doesn't like to leave my dogs alone so it's a relief to have a place I can drop him off and know he's in phenomenal hands. We love y'all so much! read more

We've used their services twice now, they're flexibility and willingness to help is unmatched. We recently had plans for a trip but were canceled because both my wife and I got sick. We couldn't take care of our 6 month old pup and they were able to take care of him 2 days before our regular schedule and without knowing when we'd be able to pick him up again, they communicated with us regularly and send you regular updates with photos and videos. I told her the photos helped my wife feel better and she instantly sent us more, they love these dogs like their own and their actions show it. I'm a little reluctant to leave this review because I'm afraid they'll get too busy and there won't be room for my dogs, but I love Steph's Happy Dogs and I know leaving a good review is the right thing to do. I board my dogs here when I travel, and one of the dogs is afraid of everyone; when we take her to the groomer, she has her tail between her legs and is practically dragged away. When we pull up to Steph's and hand her over, she is totally calm. When we pick up the dogs, they're not overly excited to see us, so they must be happy there and that's important. This is review is long overdue. we have used Steph's since we moved to Simi in 2018. They are so great to their fur baby clients and the fur baby parents. I've had Steph take my girl to the vet, when I was in the hospital an Steph even brought her to the recovery center, before I came home. Both my husband and I were hospitalized and the recovery center was closed to visitors, because of Covid. Steph brought her to the window outside my room, so I could see her. As far as not allowing pit bulls, I agree. Steph's is a no cage facility and dogs must pass a compatibility test before Steph will take them. I understand your frustration. I have 3 grand fur babies that are pit mixes.. However, since all the dogs interact all the time, it is just prudent to refuse certain breeds. I love Steph's and would trust any fur baby with her. read more

I usually leave my little Toby with his grandma and grandpa when I travel but this time I was worried because my parents were going with me to San Diego and I had to board Toby. I got so lucky to come across Steph's Happy Dogs! I took Toby for daycare prior to boarding to test them out and I could tell that Steph and David are genuine, sweet and kind people and decided to move forward with boarding. I got pics and videos of my little Toby having the time of his life. He had so much fun that he was crying on the way home because he wanted to go back. You would think that he would've been happy to see his mom. Lol As a hardcore dog mom, I don't trust just anyone with my fur baby but I would not hesitate to board Toby again at Steph's Happy Dogs in the future. Stephs is the best doggie day care place we have ever taken our dog. How lucky we are! 5 minutes from our house, it's really convenient. Dave and Steph have a true love of dogs as they take them in as guests in their home. One important thing is that I can fully trust our dog's safety and happiness here. We have used them for a week at a time while we are off on vacation and they are very accommodating. I can call at the last minute and they make me feel like our dog is part of their family. So my pup tells me to give this place 10 stars, because he loves it!! The normal scenario when driving to Steph's is that as soon as we turn that corner into their street, my pup goes bonkers in the car and he just can't wait! And once they open that door, the tail is waggin', he's hurryin' to get inside... aaaaand he disappears. He's made so many puppy friends all over the place. And between you and me, I think he loves staying with Steph, David and Rhonda more than he loves being at home with me sometimes :/ And when he comes home he tells me all about.. or not, because he knocks out. The boy was busy, he had things to do, places to go and puppies to play with! The owners are AMAZING!! They are super sweet, accommodating and very knowledgeable. And they seem to love each dog as if it were their own. I am so glad I was able to find a wonderful home away from home for him. So when I am away he gets to socialize, play, eat and be LOVED! He's not stuck in a kennel or in a room by himself. He's with other dogs of his size playing around and busy... and when I get him at the end of the day he's pooped and happy!... Wow what an exceptional business! Steph and her co-worker I forget his name are exceptional. I left my dog with them for two days 10 hours each day and it was no problem. They even have an early drop off as early as 6 AM I believe. The second day I dropped off my dog he was going crazy, super happy to be there and licking the face of the gentleman worker. The place was superclean and their communication was great. I wish there was a place like this in every town it would ease my peace of mind leaving my dog behind with a total stranger. these folks treat your dog as if they were their dog. We had moved to Hawaii but because of strict quarantine laws for flying the third member of our family (Angel the Dog) into the State we needed to find a three month home for her near Los Angeles. Our initial plan was to have family care for her during this time but unfortunately those plans fell through and from Hawaii we scrambled to organize a new place for her to stay. After spending the better portion of days reading reviews for dog care facilities and finding very little that left us feeling comfortable leaving Angel for such an extended period of time we happened upon Steph's Happy Dogs. Steph's Happy Dog's is owned and operated by Steph and David who proved over the course of Angel's stay to be true dog lovers willing to really go the extra effort. Angel was treated with love as part of their family and as I picked Angel up at the end of her three month stay it was clear that Steph and David were sad to see Angel go. I've researched and visited many dog sitters before I settled on Steph's Happy Dogs. Steph and David are very caring for my Noah for the last 3 years. They let the dogs play, swim, runaround their house and sleep anywhere they wish, even on their couches. I get pics and videos of my dog while he's there which is reassuring. When we rescued our old ladies, we didn't have the first idea where to go when heading for the hills on vaccay. I had kids from work stay in my home with them, and while that was fine by me, my husband was not a fan. So I Googled Yelp, and found David and Stephanie. Not only are they wonderful dog keepers, they are wonderful people, period. I called and asked if I could come and see what they had to offer, and they said sure! And I did, and I rambled and talked, because that's what I do, lol. But what I saw made me feel at home, immediately. I knew my girls would LOVE the openness that they lack at home. But they took our girls, and have had them at least 5 stays by now. They are very accommodating. If I call last minute for a day at Disneyland, or 3 days in Mammoth, or Cambria, they welcome us with a smile. If my old girls could speak, they would ask to stay longer. The get lots of love and freedom. We live in a town-home, so they are pretty restricted at home. David and Stephanie are family in our hearts, now. I even made a major faux paus, and was welcomed back with a well needed laugh. Good people, good home for your furbabies. (And we don't just recommend anyone.) read more

Our great pyrenees has been going to happy dogs for several years. We chose Steph's happy dogs because we could not bear the thought of our dog being in a cage or kennel in our absence. As soon as we pull up the driveway, Oscar is out the door of the car and at the side gate, ready to enter. I took my two Schnauzers on short notice for daycare here while having new flooring installed at my home. This was their first time going to daycare and I couldn't have been happier with David greeting me and the dogs. I HIGHLY recommend Steph's Happy Dogs!!! Stephanie and David are two of the nicest people you will ever meet! And the best part is they TRULY care about their doggies! Belle, our Golden Retriever, really likes being in their home. It is super clean and spacious...they even let Belle sleep on the sofa if she wants. I feel so confident leaving her here!! Last time she visited, Belle was dealing with hot spots and had to wear a cone. Stephanie said "no problem at all" and was able to give Belle her necessary medication. Also, when we go away, I always text Stephanie asking how Belle is doing. I always get a quick response with a picture and even a video!!! The videos makes me smile every time!!! My big girl, Rue, is pretty much my child & I am an extremely cautious, overprotective mom when it comes to leaving her in anyone else's care. That being said, Stephanie & David are pretty much the only ones I trust to care for her in my absence. They clearly love dogs & are knowledgeable about them as well & treat all dogs as if they were their own. Whether we are going to be out & about for the day, or even the weekend, it's so convenient & comforting to be able to drop her off & know that when we pick her up, she will be happy, stimulated & exhausted from playing with all the other dogs during her stay. We adopted our sweet girl Maggie from Steph and David 18 months ago. Not only did they rescue Maggie from a shelter which then brought her into our lives, they also watch her 3 days a week and on weekends when we go out of town. Steph and David are always accommodating and Maggie loves going there to visit them and her other doggy friends! Due to Maggie's past she has a lot of anxiety issues and Steph and David are very patient with her and have always made her feel safe and loved. This is as much a home away from home for our elderly dog as it is a business for them. Dave and Steph allow us to travel worry free knowing our boy is in the best hands. there are mostly well deserved 5 star reviews below. to those who gave one star- because you had to wait, or because the place is hard to find? really? Don't forget this place is about the dogs!!!- not whether you were slightly inconvenienced. I was told about Stephanie by a doggie day care facility in West Hills. I was looking for a daycare that would allow an unneutered male over 6 months old. The West Hills facility was very highly recommended by yelp reviews and work friends as well. I was very disappointed when the owner said she would not take our little guy. The owner in West Hills told me about Stephanie and had only wonderful things to say about her. I gave Stephanie a call and set up an appointment. Our first appointment had to be rescheduled. I was only able to make it on a Saturday and the roofers they contracted with were running behind schedule. The reschedule was no problem at all. The day Cowboy and I went to visit I put their address in my GPS. I also brought along Stephanie's very detailed map and written directions that had been sent as an attachment on her email. My GPS had me going in circles but once I ignored that and used Stephanie's directions I got there with no problem. That was 8 months ago. Cowboy loves going to "Doggie Daycare". He is with Stephanie and David at least 3 days a week (usually more). We have left him with Happy Dogs for several overnight visits and I feel totally comfortable knowing he is in great hands. One another note...because of a botched neutering procedure our little guy ended up with doggie PTSD. After seeing a specialist her number one suggestion was to get him out of the "cone of shame" as soon as possible. Two days at Steph's Happy Dogs was all it took (I never thought he'd get out of that cone). I cannot begin to express how wonderful these people are. This is not my first experience with a doggie daycare and boarding facility but I hope they stay in business forever because I know I will never be looking for another. Just as a footnote... I stay in my air-conditioned car with my dog on hot days when I'm dropping off or picking until I see David or Stephanie. And, I am okay that she does not feel comfortable saying "yes" to pit bulls. We've been going to Steph's Happy Dogs for 7 years with our two dogs, and could not be happier. I feel like they treat our two dogs as their own. My dogs race out of the car and do not look back when they are dropped off. They love going there and always come back exhausted! I will continue to bring my dogs there as long as I can! Steph's happy dogs is getting a 1 star review from me because they do not allow bully breeds at their facility, or as some might call them pitbulls. Come on people this is 2016, wake up! Everyone (especially dog lovers) should know by now pitbulls are not inherently different than any other dog, quite the opposite actually. They are some of the sweetest and most loving dogs!
