I have taken my dogs to other groomers and they always came back shaking and afraid. One place even kept my dogs for 5 hours. I heard of Aggies and figured I would try since I was still searching for a reliable groomer. I am so very happy. Aggies does not groom large dogs but I have two little ones under 15 pounds so if you have a large dog you will need to search elsewhere. My dogs usually are only there for an hour maybe an hour and a half. They take such good care of my dogs and I can tell the groomer loves dogs. No more shaking, trembling puppers when I pick them up. She also does an amazing job grooming them. I will be a customer for a long time. She books up fast so you need to make your next appointment as soon as you pick up your dog. I am updating my review of Aggies because she had actually called me the day after my review to get my little man in for a wash, as there had been a cancellation. The reason she is so backed up is for the grooming portion of her service. My pug does not need cutting, just the wash and what comes with that (anal glands expressed, ears cleaned, nails clipped, blow dry). She was kind enough to explain that next time I should let her know when I call that I only need the wash. I'm so happy to have a local dog grooming shop in Simi Valley that I can fully trust with my little Buddy. Aggie is easy to schedule an appointment with and she really does an amazing job handling and grooming dogs professionally. My 4 month old Goldendoodle puppy is quite dramatic when it comes to strangers and being handled while combing and brushing, but his breed tends to need grooming and combing often. I've been lucky enough to see all pieces of the puzzle at Aggie's Grooming, and plenty of reference points prior Aggie opening up her own shop, by way of volunteering at various animal grooming salons As a helper on a couple of occasions in particular, where the A/C was out, the water pressure wasn't doing what it was supposed to, I developed a huge sense of respect for the work itself. Believe me, it's not easy (I was on a tank in the Army and have a medical and physical training background, and my butt was kicked after a day's work). Aggie isn't a person who grooms animals, but an animal groomer who found her calling, being she is self taught, self made, and has a passion for animals that rivals mine. I have friends coming all the way from Hollywood for her services (Hi Binky! Hey Kari!). Aggie beautifully groomed both of our Cairn terriers several years ago when she was working at another grooming shop but unfortunately we lost touch with her when she left. We didn't know she had opened her own shop until recently--and we are so happy to have found her again! She is a lovely person who is so kind and gentle with the dogs. She does an excellent job, and takes care of them quickly so they don't have to spend extra time waiting in a cage. Great service! Took my 2 medium sized dogs (50lbs each). They were done with a bath brush and nails 1 hour 15 minuets later. The facility was clean, Aggie and her help were nice and courteous. The dogs in her care seemed happy enough considering they were at the groomers. My dogs were well taken care of, clean and she even managed to do their nails! Ok, first my dog hates everybody! She even attacks herself when she walks by the closet mirrors or any other reflection of herself. So, I was not expecting this to be a pleasant event in taking her to a new groomer. Well ! behold, my dog for the very first time wagged her tail and pleasantly allowed to be groomed without any drama.
