Outstanding! My Maltese is very high maintenance! And he has a tendency to be all teeth and no play. But at doggie tail Spaw they are the best ever! This is an update on my previous review. First time I came, they did a great job. This time, my poor dog looks like he was chopped by a 5 year old. Even when I groomed my dog I did a better job. I can't believe they couldn't cut some of the longer hair with scissors, when my husband picked him up he was told that due to my dogs moles they could not do a good job. I feel ripped off having paid top dollar ($70). Not coming back, I rather wait another month for an appt at my regular groomer, ive never seen my dog look this bad. Ill have to fix him up myself, but isn't that the point of paying for a service? read more

The facility is very clean and modern. All equipment is new and easy to use. The two-in-one soap/hose is convenient. You can soap and rub your dog at the same time. They have multiple stations and open late relative to others in Simi Valley. You will not find another self-bathe open at 6pm. They've got a station for nails and others for drying, at a good height for those tall or short. Aprons are offered and extra towels if you need them. Cool bandana swag offered to us on the way out Best of all, the owner is a true animal lover and cares much for the clients. Her price is fair and lower than competitors. Just had our cockapoo groomed a few days ago and they did a wonderful job. The trim was perfect and they did not mess up her cute facial features like other groomers have in the past. The only issue was pricing - quoted $55 over the phone for an 18lbs dog but after the service was charged $60 because she was closer to 20lbs than 15lbs which I guess was a quote mistake? Mind you this included wash, cut, nails, teeth, etc. While it was only $5 difference I didn't appreciate the change. This shop also appears to be a mom&pop style place, they handle all of their client instructions on paper so it's entirely possible they forgot they quoted the $55 since they do it all on paper. The staff was super friendly and we are extremely happy with the cut, we will be back in a few months when she needs a trim. read more

This is the only place I'll take my dog to get groomed! I visited here for the first time a year ago and my terrier mix was actually happy when she was all finished. She's usually a little temperamental after the groomers but her tail was wagging and she sincerely looked like she enjoyed her time there. Ever since that first visit I make sure to take her in every few months. The use of organic products really makes a difference. The only downside to this amazing place is that they are getting more popular so I have to book usually 2-3 weeks in advance. Glad this spot is getting the attention it deserves! read more

I love this place! My rescue dog Zoey hates the dog groomer, she was hit by a car before we adopted her and has never liked being left somewhere without us, especially with groomers. Other groomers would not let me stay with Zoey with her baths but Gigi does, you can tell how much she cares about how comfortable the dog is as well as the owner. She is very gentle and is taking it slow with Zoey. I love how knowledgable she is and her overall attitude. Definitely the best dog groomer I have found for bigger dogs. read more
