So, unfortunately, Dr Watson was not a good match for me. However, she may be for you. Personally, I do agree with the other review who mentioned that they didn't feel she felt empathy or compassion, and seemed quick to administer all medications. She seemed annoyed and in a hurry. She was late, so maybe she was in a hurry, so she wouldn't be late to the next appointment. If you're looking for a vet to come and be a vet and administer medications, you may be a good fit. If you're looking for a more compassionate experience, you may not be. One thing I had a major problem with was her decision to administer an oral sedative. I watched the video on her website to know what to expect. My experience was not like that video. I didn't even know an oral sedative was an option. She said she was going to inspect the patient to see what type would be best. I told her not oral. He hated oral medications. I didn't want his last moment to be forced to do something he hates. She insisted because supposedly the injection would cause pain. I should have insisted. Because my poor boy was so weak, he was out as soon as she administered the medication. His last moment was her forcing that nasty medication into his mouth, and then he was just... gone. I thought I would at least have a minute or two while the sedative was talking effect, to say goodbye. But, no. I obviously have no proof, but I felt like she did that because the oral would take effect quicker than the injection. I had a feeling the night before and morning of that I should cancel and look for someone else to come later that day, or the next day. I should have followed my gut. I wish I paid her $450 to cancel on the spot, as soon as I felt the energy was off. One reason I chose her is because I like the crematorium she partners with, and what they offer. However, when I called them, they said her pick ups are Tuesday and Friday. So, my cat being euthanized on a Tuesday would be sitting in her morgue until Friday, when they pick him up. Then, I would be able to do a viewing and "next day" cremation Monday. I couldn't bare the thought of my boy laying in a morgue all week. I opted to take him in myself. The second she told me she had a body bag for him, that she would carry him out in, I knew my decision was the right one. I took him myself that day, had a viewing for him the next day, and paid for same day cremation. Also, one reason I chose her was because of the clay paw print. But, I think it looks terrible. I am glad I opted for in home euthanasia. I would personally not use Dr Watson again. However, she may be a good fit for you read more

She's now in Ventura. One of my closest friends was in a state of urgency because her beloved chihuahua, Phoenix, had been struggling to breathe all night. He had some pre-existing issues but now he had come to a critical state. My friend called several vets and animal hospitals and she was told there was no availability so her only option was to go to the animal ER where there would be 3- hour wait. My dog was a 13 year old American Staffordshire Terrier, her name was Sunny. She was blind and had dementia which was getting worse. She had a lot of other health problems also. I decided the humane thing to do would be to have her put to sleep in her doggy bed in the living room, in familiar and comfortable surroundings instead of her last moments being in a vet's office which always stressed her out. Sunny's last moments were eating donuts while Dr. Watson administered a sedative to her to help her go to sleep before the lethal dose. Sunny was asleep the entire procedure which lasted maybe less than 20 minutes. She was calm and comfortable in her last moments. Dr. Watson was very professional, she arrived at my home at the scheduled time and she answered any questions I had about the procedure. I decided to have Sunny cremated, her ashes were returned to me in a few days in a very nice biodegradable package which will be buried in a terracotta pot containing sunflowers. Dr. Watson enabled us to navigate through an extremely difficult situation, with peace of mind. We are so broken hearted about having to put our sweet Stella down. Dr. Watson was very pleasant. Very calm. Very understanding. We put our doggy friend of 16 wonderful years, James, in his memory foam bed in our bedroom and made him feel comfortable. This is where we put him to sleep for the last time. We miss his almost two decades of love and friendship. We miss his following us around everywhere to see what we were doing and see if he could help. We miss his going to sleep in my home office while I worked. Putting your dog to sleep isn't as bad as somethings, but for us it was the worst day we've had in a very long time. Our 12 year old terrier was suffering from congestive heart failure. His condition worsened quickly and on Tuesday I reached out to Dr. Watson. She was able to come to our house the following morning. She arrived on time and quickly explained what she would be doing. She administered the first shot to sedate him. She explained that, due to his heart condition, it might take a little longer for the drug to take effect. She was very very patient and waited until he was completely asleep and non-responsive. Her manner, patience and kindness made that horrible day bearable. She delivered exactly what I wanted which was for him to die, painlessly, peacefully in his bed, in his living surrounded by his smells and his family. This is such a hard experience to go through and Dr. Watson was so very pleasant. I wish I would have known about this service 7 years ago for my pug. My dog, Hazel was 15 and we had to let her go today due to an illness that quickly showed it's head last week IMHA.
