We checked in and they put us in a room right away, but we did wait quite a bit before someone came in the room to check in on him and they took him in this back room so the doctor can exam him. We waited approx two hours before we got results, as they did all the test and X-rays on him. Turns out he has diabetes and a pancreas issue and needed to stay the night to get insulin and an iv of fluids. The overnight nurse spoke with us and said we could call anytime to checkin on him. They took excellent care of him and we got him back the next evening. They sent us home with medication and some insulin. The doctor was knowledge, answered all our questions and concerns and how we needed to go about treatment for Shadow. **This was our last option to take him to, so just note the bill can be a bit pricey especially with an overnight visit.

For All of You Who Love Animals, I Want to Share What Happened to My Beloved Luci…read more I'm sharing this with a broken heart because I want other pet owners to be aware of what happened to us and to be very careful when it comes to their pets' health. On August 3rd, I took my 9-year-old Shih Tzu, Luci, to Little Paws Veterinary for a checkup and to have her tested for Cushing's disease. I had previously owned a Shih Tzu who suffered from the same disease, and Luci was showing similar symptoms, so I wanted to make sure she was tested and treated if that was the case. The doctor first recommended doing senior wellness bloodwork to see if there was anything else going on with her. I agreed. The testing showed that Luci had some issues, but I was told that nothing was major. The doctor recommended testing her for Cushing's to make sure. On Monday, August 10th, I brought Luci back to Little Paws for the Cushing's test. They kept her at the clinic for approximately eight hours, which I was told was necessary for the testing. I picked her up at 5 p.m. and was told they would call me in a few days with the results. On Wednesday, August 12th, the doctor called and told me that Luci had tested negative for Cushing's disease. I was so relieved and happy to hear that. He did tell me that some of her liver values were elevated and recommended that I bring her back in 4-6 weeks for additional bloodwork. I told him I would call to make the appointment. Then, on Thursday evening, everything changed. Luci suddenly became very sick. She vomited throughout the night. The next morning, she seemed a little better, but she would not eat or drink. She became very lethargic and slept most of the day. Finally, that evening, she drank a little water. On Friday, I became extremely concerned and took Luci to my previous veterinary clinic. They immediately did bloodwork, and I received the most heartbreaking news a pet owner can ever hear. The veterinarian told me that Luci was very, very sick. She had leptospirosis, a serious illness that can severely affect the kidneys and liver. Her eyes had turned yellow, and her kidneys were barely functioning. I explained to the veterinarian that Luci had just been at Little Paws that week for testing and told him everything that had happened. He was very concerned about how sick she was. He gave her medication and told me to bring her back immediately if she got worse. Unfortunately, Luci continued to deteriorate. On Saturday, I took her back because she was getting worse. There was nothing more they could do to save her. With our hearts completely shattered, we had to make the heartbreaking decision to let our sweet Luci go. We are devastated. Luci was not just a pet--she was part of our family, and losing her so suddenly has left a tremendous hole in our hearts. I am sharing our experience because I want other dog and cat owners to know about leptospirosis, to be aware of the symptoms, and to talk to their veterinarian about testing and prevention. And after everything we experienced, I personally will never take another one of my pets to Little Paws Veterinary. I also encourage every pet owner to ask questions, listen to their instincts, and seek a second opinion if something doesn't feel right. Please, please protect your pets and educate yourself about this disease. They depend on us to speak for them. Rest peacefully, my sweet Luci. The thing I appreciate most about Dr. Dewey is that I've never once left feeling like unnecessary procedures, medications, blood work, or testing were being pushed on me. I've definitely had that experience at other vets. Every interaction I've had with Dr. Dewey has felt genuine, and I always leave feeling very confident in her knowledge and judgment. You can tell she really cares about figuring out what's actually going on and making the right diagnosis without immediately throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the animal. The staff is also always extremely friendly, and the facility itself is clean, new, and really nice. And lastly, the pricing is very reasonable, especially compared to some of the other vets in the area. I feel like I'm getting better care without paying more for it. Really happy we found Treehouse and would absolutely recommend them.

Backstory: one of my dogs woke up on a Friday unable to open his eye, which quickly turned into an infection and I spent 2 days trying to find a vet / urgent care to take him to near my home in North Hollywood. I called SC Animal Urgent Care & Wellness Center at 7:08pm on a SUNDAY, arrived at 7:45pm and was seen by Dr. Mousa by 7:55pm! From the second the receptionist answered the phone, I knew I was in good hands. She was extremely compassionate & quickly took my information, along with my dogs symptoms and told me to come right in to be seen by Dr. Mousa. Dr. Mousa is a GOD SEND!!! I am so blessed to have found him. Dr. Mousa examined & handled my dog with so much care and explained that he had an corneal ulcer which was quickly deteriorating his cornea and that if I had not brought him in immediately, he would have lost his eye (which was still a possibility at that point due to the 2 day wait trying to find a vet/hospital). Dr. Mousa's urgency along with his care, compassion and knowledge is the type of service you expect and deserve when you go to a hospital concerned, stressed and scared for your dog. Dr. Moran was calm, compassionate, incredibly knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly. His confidence and expertise gave us hope when we needed it most. The veterinary nurses and staff were wonderful--kind, attentive, and excellent at communicating throughout the entire process. For starters, when the vet tech asked me to place my dog on the scale I noticed that there was a huge puddle of urine on it. Yuck! I asked her to clean it up before I'd place my dog on that scale. That's beyond unsanitary! Then when we got to the exam room, that also looked unsanitary! The mat on the exam table had what looked like dried urine stains and nothing smelled clean or sanitized. Really gross and now I'm worried that my dog could have been exposed to something since it's likely nothing in that exam room had been cleaned. I should have left right then and there, and wish I had because things didn't get any better. The vet took forever to come into the room. I was only there to get my dog vaccine boosters but felt they were trying to evaluate and look for random diagnosis. They also were pushy about heart worm testing and charged an arm and a leg for core vaccines. Much more than any place I've ever been. It felt very scammy. And when checking out and paying the hefty bill the receptionists weren't very friendly. Honestly, the whole place just had a bad vibe. I wish I never took my pet here. I don't plan on bringing my pet here ever again and I feel very upset that I trusted bringing her here in the first place. I can't understand how anyone gives this place a positive review. Of course, that was unexpected, but once we understood it needed to be done, we were grateful they could help. The vets and vet assistants were excellent. At pick-up, they sat down with me, explained the procedure and results thoroughly, and never made me feel rushed. They even showed us the foxtails that were removed so we could understand exactly what had been causing the issue. That level of care and explanation was really appreciated. The only reason I hesitated on the rating was the front desk experience. On both visits, I wasn't acknowledged when I arrived. A simple "Hi, I'll be right with you" would have gone a long way, especially when you're waiting with a dog in pain or anxiously picking them up after a procedure. There were also some long waiting times in side rooms with little communication. That said, the actual veterinary care was excellent, and that's what matters most. I'm grateful they took good care of our dog.

I was a nervous wreck before the cleaning, and Jen talked me through everything over the phone. She was so comforting and referred to my cat as my "baby." Fast forward a week, we had to go back for irritation after surgery and we saw Dr. Togneti (I hope I spelled her name right). She was also so wonderful. She saw us as an emergency visit and helped us with such compassion. She prescribed him different medication and went over every single thing with me. X rays, labs, pictures, you name it. I never felt rushed or confused. She truly took the time to be with us. I called again to let them know he wasn't eating much, and Jen came in to help us again. She sent us home with a few cans of new food and sure enough, he ate it right up. I'm forever grateful for the staff here.
