Dr. Roueche and his staff are incredible. I brought my little boy in for his teeth cleaning. My little girl, who was very sick, was with me. The staff saw her and noticed that she didn't look good. Dr. Roueche offered to see her. I knew the inevitable was near. I decided to put her to sleep and Dr. Roueche said he could do the procedure that day. I brought her back and picked up my little boy. Dr. Roueche and his staff were so sympathetic. They cried with me and let me stay with her body as long as I needed to. They let my 3 other fur babies stay in the room too. I was calling around for quotes on that one day pet owners never want to have come. I've had my girl for 17 years and almost ten months. She's never been sick a day in her life, minus a sprained wrist, up until the last three months. But time has caught up to us. I called this location asking for them to help me give my girl a peaceful end. A single respectful appointment. They replied they aren't taking on new clients. They weren't listening. I didn't ask that. We would be one single first and final visit. This location made a painful topic that much worse. Horrible service. Goes against the very ethics of the business of animal care. I've been going here for a couple of years, and just love these people. Everyone there is kind and compassionate, and really care about the animals they treat - they are always happy to help and advise via email. Dr. Roueche is just an amazing vet - and their prices are affordable and fair. I have an older cocker spaniel, who got really sick after eating bad food (Ol' Roy - never give this to your dog -it's toxic - google it), she got diarrhea, could no longer stand, wouldn't eat...seemed like it was the end. She was so bad over the weekend, that we had no choice but to takeher to an emergency vet first who basically said they could do tests (running into thousands of dollars), or just put her to sleep...they pushed hard to have me euthanize her on the spot. We walked out and waited to see Affordable Vets this week. Dr. Rouche examined her and suggested trying her with a couple of shots - antibiotic and steroid - it was a long shot, but worth a try... Now, she's recovering better than we ever could have expected - and it cost less than the first emergency visit cost in total. If I'd have listened to those other people, I would have put her down, now thankfully to Dr. R's compassion, experience and expertise, she is recovering and we might have her a little while longer. She's been a member of our family for 14 years, since she was 6 weeks old, and our whole family is grateful and thankful for what these people did for her. Amazing - just the absolute best. So I do love you guys. You are the friendliest and most efficient clinic I have been too but sadly, you are no longer as "affordable." The dental price was raised quite a bit and when I went to my regular vet in the Antelope Valley, they will do the dental on my next dog for 349 dollars and that includes an IV catheter and fluids. That's their regular price. They are competent and not some fly by night operation. Due to increasing gas prices and inflation, I'll have to get my dentals for my dogs done up here. However, for the Santa Clarita area, I am sure you are affordable compared to clinics in that area. One suggestion: Clients should be asked before 25 dollars is automatically charged for a nail trim. 25 dollars is a half a tank of gas for me. I do think your staff is fabulous and if I lived in the area I would continue going to your clinic. read more

This animal clinic is amazing!!! Although they were only open one day a week which took me a month to get an appt for this treatment. I was very pleased with how well the staff was very friendly and helpful. I took my dog in for teeth cleaning and the Dr. did a great job! I had called around to get price quotes and everywhere else wanted to overly charge for teeth cleaning. I am so glad there is a vet clinic that I feel I can trust! I felt that not only was my pet cared for but I felt cared for as well, since I was so nervous leaving my baby Josie. I love how I felt very comfortable with David and his wife Terry when they greeted me at my car. Very personable and chatted like I've known them forever! From my first call to the office, I was impressed with the kind and thorough approach from each staff member that I interacted with. Dr. Roueche was amazing. When I brought my Lab into the office for a second opinion, he spent 30 mins just getting to know my dog and better understand his symptoms around his knee injury. My prior vet barely took time with us in the exam room and at the last visit announced that if my dog's knee pain continued that we would need a $3000 surgery. In comparison, Dr Roueche set down to explain my options and recommended a conservative approach which made complete sense. After an Adequan injection, my dog is back to his happy self. This was such a pleasant experience! Dr. Roueche was extremely knowledgeable and down-to-earth with incredibly fair prices. It was literally like walking into a small home town vets office. There was even a goat, which my son and I thought was awesome! The office staff was friendly too. This vet currently only sees small animals one day a week because he sees larger farm animals the rest of the week (he did mention he will be adding more days for small animals soon), but he is definitely worth waiting a week or 2 for an appointment. At other vets in Valencia, I felt like they were out to make as much money as possible and didn't really care about my dog. Dr Roueche was not like that...he took the time to listen and gave us a practical and affordable treatment plan for our maltichon. I made an appointment for a check-up on some growths my dog has. They're pretty busy right now but have really good quarantine practices in place and are still very kind and accommodating. Terry who helped me schedule my appointment was especially helpful and courteous. The Doctors and staff are friendly and knowledgeable and you can tell they have the respect of their clients and community. The only reason I'm giving this 3 stars is because my 2-minute appointment with the doctor, just to get his opinion on my dogs growths, cost me $50. All he did was come in, inspect my dog, and assured me that the growths on him were made of fat and were not harmful to my dog. The doctor himself was perfect, I am only unhappy that I had to pay $50 for this. Couldn't give me a discount??? It was literally 2 minutes or less :( I have nearly no funds since the coronavirus started, help a sista out. For anyone looking to find how much they charge for a check-up, yes it is $50.00 even. I should've gone with Pinnacle they only charge $35. Besides this I heard they're the best in the business for tumor removals as they do a couple of them on dogs weekly. read more

After much research for an affordable, but high quality veterinarian, we brought our 13 year old Beagle here yesterday, for the first time. We made the drive from Palm Springs because I was happy with their reviews, and their pricing was well below other estimates I received for dental work. Being an older dog, I was a little worried about anesthesia for him, but I knew he had an infection, and it needed to be done. I found this place through Yelp too and I'm glad I did. We inherited an older dog that needed extensive dental work. I knew her teeth were bad and that she would have to have a lot of them removed. I wasn't aware that this business is ONLY OPEN ON WEDNESDAYS. I scheduled an appointment and then asked if they could fit me in the next day because I felt like my dog was in pain, she was swatting at her mouth a lot. Thankfully, they did. The cleaning with sedation was 250.00, they have all their prices listed on their website. She needed 7 teeth removed at a cost of 18.00 each, plus 20.00 for antibiotics. Total cost was 400.00. She came home from the vet, raring to go. So much happier. I liked them so much that I just left a message to schedule another of our dogs for her dental. This isn't really a place where you'd go for an emergency, you need to plan ahead. They do a lot of different surgeries and procedures. Glad I found them. read more

We have known Dr. Roueche for 10 years and he does all of our vet work. Among other things, he has taken care of many litters of young puppies we have had. He is obviously amazingly capable at what he does. But, what is also great about him is that he has the wisdom to sometimes say, "let's wait and see how this works out". So, many times we would have spent a fortune on tests and procedures to discover that the young puppy would grow out of its problems. I have a 10 year old beautiful golden retriever. She developed a non-cancerous golf-ball size tumor under her chin. My regular vet checked it and indicated that it was slow growing, benign but I should get it removed as it wouldn't go away. Also my dog needed dental work, and he could do all of this for $1200. I spent hours trying to find another discount clinic who would just remove it. I found one down in Orange County and took a 1:30 drive down there only to find out the price was just about $50 cheaper. Disheartened I went to book my regular vet as the tumor was now approaching tennis ball size. I decided to see if there was something a bit closer. That's when I found Affordable Vet Clinic with Dr. Rouche. I made an appointment and he was wonderful! Gave me an estimate for $300 to remove it and no worries on the dental work - the teeth were just fine in fact dental work might pose more trouble. I got this work done and can't be more grateful and happy with the result. The staff are truly animal lovers who have a high regard and understanding of animals. I highly recommend this veterinarian clinic. I took my two cats there to get dental work and they did a phenomenal job with both my very scared cats. One of my cats needed some major tooth pulling and also had a few gum complications. I am so grateful that I I knew about this clinic otherwise I probably wouldn't of been able to get it done.
