I stopped in here on the recommendation of another pet store. I was looking for fancy pet mice and they suggested Petsmart. I said, "They only seem to have white mice..." and the lady told me that this store actually had black colored fancy pet mice. She'd just been there the day before. So I drove over and lo and behold, they had three fancy mice - one white one with slightly long fur, and two mice that were black and white. The two black and white mice didn't look to be in tip top health though, with both appearing to be sort of hunch-backed. Even so, I asked to see one of them, and got to hold her, and decided to bring her home as a friend for my calico mouse. The staff was very compassionate about the mice and assured he she would quarantine the other black and white one (who looked significantly less well) and have their vet take a look at her. She also confirmed I was only looking for a mouse as a pet, and not for some other purpose. I had to enter my name, address, phone number and email into their system to purchase this mouse. I didn't love that part, but I guess I understand their concern when selling live pets. Overall the store was clean, the pets I saw looked to be in good health (except for these two mice, one of which I did end up buying). The staff I interacted with were all friendly and professional. I was also assured they had a 2 week period where I could return the mouse if she was truly unwell or if she didn't get along with my other mouse or something. read more

I appreciate it when an employees goes out of their to make their customers happy. Javier is that guy. He encouraged us to apply for PetSmart points so we can get a discount on our large purchase. He was very patient in helping us apply, which only took a couple minutes and his positive attitude made us feel welcomed and comfortable. This PetSmart location is awesome! They are always fully stocked, kept very clean, and the staff is always super helpful and friendly. On my last visit I was able to get everything I needed for my doggos birthday celebration, they had soooo many Halloween treats and toys! They also host pet adoption events here...I'm definitely returning to this location for more goodies soon! read more

This store had the slowest online pickup order ever. The store in Alhambra fills your order in minutes. This one, takes over 2 hours. Cashiers are hit and miss in their friendliness. Help is hard to find at times. Management, do something about the speed of your online orders please. read more

My kids have been wanting to give our turtle some fish for a while. So since we were celebrating the day that we got him a year ago, we decided to get him a little treat. We got some minnows for him and the person who helped us was super nice. I have heard that Petsmart doesn't treat their animals well. So that keeps me from shopping there more. I'll most likely go to another source for fish. But in a pinch today it was a pleasant experience. read more

Understaffed, understocked, and overpriced. I've bought lots of stuff here, don't get me wrong. They are really the only animal spot in the area, and that's how the doors stay open. I just bought meal worms two days for some lizards, and half of the "35" are already dead. But as the only place, what can I do? I tried this place about 2x for my dogs grooming and the last time was officially my last straw. The groomers all seem grumpy and over worked. Her groomer was absolutely so vague until I tipped her and then she decided to crack a smile and talk to me. Also when I walked in to pick my dog up it was like a sauna in the grooming station area which made me wonder how hot it was in the back where our dogs are kept to wait. It felt like a circus in that room, a line out the door with people waiting, groomers bumping into each other. Definitely last visit for grooming. read more

I realized I was almost out of a cat treat that I mix cat's medicine in. So here I go rushing to PetSmart right before they close. Savannah checked me out and... what a complete and total sweetheart. She was so friendly, accommodating and happy to help. I wish my dog was with me, he would have loved her (next time!). What a gem. When I got there, I realized I needed the restroom and the first person I saw was closing down and cleaning (meticulously) a cage. She saw me but, couldn't hear me. She stopped what she was doing and personally walked me over to the restroom to let me in. I wish I has asked her name so, Savannah, let the boss know! Upon pick up up I was told he barked too much and he pooped in his cage....ummmm he was barking because he had to poop.....they ignored his signals and let him poop in the cage and then blamed me for his barking! 1 star only because I had to pick something. It was our first and last time at PetSmart, it feels like the girl who showered my dog has no patience for my dog. When you book an appointment she does number of dogs at the same time, what is the point in scheduling an exact hour then? I added extra 15 dollars to have her for my dog only for one hour. After 15 minutes she called me and told me that my dog needs 15 minutes break (well of course she had others dogs to do..) then she called me and told me to pick up my dog earlier, she absolutely had no patience for my dog when she scheduled for number of dogs at the same time. This store is very dirty and unorganized. Also we have to stand in a long line and wait until they called to go up to the register. You are not allowed to get in line at a register if they are open. They make you stand in a long line and you have to wait for the cashier to come and get you. Seems like a total waste of time. When I asked they couldn't give me answer. So it's ok to have over 20 people stand in one line? Doesn't make any sense this is poorly ran. read more

We took in our two chiweenies in to be groomed this morning. The groomer Sage was excellent. Very friendly and gave our dogs attention. I would one hundred percent recommend Sage for grooming. We buy our pet food here and that is fine. However, the grooming service here is unreliable. First couple times were ok, but the last time our dog had a bad time. He came home scared and agitated, which has never happened after any grooming appointment. I did not feel like they were telling me the truth about what happened. My first appointment was canceled two hours before. When I rescheduled and took him in, I booked a bath, deshedding treatment and teeth brushing. When I got there they told me they weren't able to brush his teeth and that they didn't finish brushing him (yet I was charged full price for the bath/deshedding). Now it is the next day and it is clear that they did not de-shed his tail at all. He also apparently was able to break out of the kennel and was just roaming in the back when I got there to pick him up. I don't feel like that is safe at all... My boyfriend and I came in today with the intent to buy some more Rasboras for his 55 gallon today and as soon as we walked in we were excited to see the variety of fish that they had in comparison to my home PetSmart. As I took a closer look I was disgusted at the upkeep of their tanks and care for the fish. I can't say I didn't expect to see a dead fish here and there, it's normal, but MANY of their tanks had dead fish in them, including a dead turtle, and plants infested with algae. Already being upset at the upkeep of their fish, my boyfriend went to bring it to the attention of an employee who told me that they have not been cleaned since Tuesday. You mean to tell me that your tanks got this disgusting and all of your plants and gravel got infested with algae in 3 short days. Absolutely not, I have never been to such a disgusting PetSmart who showed no care for their fish. I was also told that the dead turtle I found had just died today. Even if that were the case how had it not been taken care of already. I'm heavily disappointed at the upkeep and at the answers I was given by the staff especially because I am not new in the aquarium hobby and I knew their answers were lies. Avoid this place at all costs, I would not like to make assumptions but if this is how they treat their fish department, I would hate to find out what the quality of the rest of their store is. These five stars are Rainbow in grooming department. She is the best groomer I've ever had. I've owned dogs for 10 years. I get them groomed at petsmart in Orange county. I moved a year ago to Santa Clarita. Since then I take them to her and she's amazing. Simply the best. She makes my dogs look like show dogs. She especially makes Josie look like a star. I recommend her without a doubt! read more

Had an appointment today at 8am took off work 3 weeks ago to make sure our dog can get groomed as they cancelled on us 3 weeks ago. 7:34am comes and they cancel on us for a second time in a row. Really big store and it had the dog food we needed. We also needed a new leash for Sassy, our dog-unit after I lost her favorite. I had to settle for an inferior nylon one, they do not carry leashes in leather. Any dog owner who has used a leather one will never choose to use a substitute. Nylon just tangles and knots too easily and doesn't feel good in the hand. They did have leather collars, but I didn't want to buy enough of those to knit a leash. read more

I've been using this grooming location over a year, since moving to this side of the valley. I've gotten a sense this location has become more "assembly line" with frequent turnover in groomers. Had an appointment today and the front area, where they gave 4 grooming tables, was completely covered in dog hair. Not from just one or two cuts, but more. The hair was blowing into the customer area. If the cleanliness is this bad where customers can SEE, I'm afraid to think what the back area looks like. I left and don't plan to return. read more
