When she arrives it is straight to work and she is very quick to address what is wrong and what solutions can be made. I did a lot of research on in-board training before deciding that I wanted to send my "daughter" to one. From the website I thought Karma dog training sounded like an awesome one, I really loved their principles and ways of thinking and I was really excited to use them. First I played phone tag with the female who initially called me back, we never could seem to get a hold of each other, and both phone numbers she gave me seemed to go to a cell phone, which seemed a little suspicious as she kept saying one was an office number. When I finally got a hold of her, she asked me questions and told me she had two trainers in mind, and that she would go home that night and put all the information together and let me know. In addition she sounded very flustered and busy when I did speak with her, almost overwhelmed, (while we were on the phone she was out of breath and told me she was putting dogs into the car). I waited to hear back from her, and of course started contacting other In-Board trainers in the meanwhile when I realized I wasn't going to be receiving another call from her. Needless to say, I never got another follow up call. Maybe they are a good training place and maybe they are overwhelmed with dogs and can't take more clients at this time? Whatever it was, I felt that I was left hanging. Treating clients in this manner only leaves me to feel suspicious on whether it's even a real company. I've since found another in-board training and will be taking my "daughter" there instead. read more

I signed up for Basic Obedience with Kate in hopes of having my dog, Stella, be able to know basics. Stella went in with ZERO obedience and actually had to sit far away from dogs to be able to focus. Within a few classes we were able to sit amongst the other dogs. Basic obedience went so well that we decided to do the Canine Good Citizen course to continue working with Kate. Kate helped us out with our rescue dog Patch when we began to have issues following the birth of our daughter. Kate worked with us on the specific behavioral problems we were having and gave us some exercises to change that behavior and have a more manageable dog. Kate was very flexible and was able to fit in with our timetable and even though we only went with five sessions, Patch became attached to Kate from the start and was excited to see her each visit. Kate was able to show us ways to improve Patch's behavior and explained things in terms we could understand and be able to take on board. We brought our 6 year old lab mix Lucy to Karma Dog for Service Dog training. Rebecca was warm, understanding and incredibly helpful. It's clear that she does this work from a place of compassion. She made the process feel clear and approachable. Lucy had multiple exams to train and pass in order to qualify as a Service Dog. Katherine Hart was our assigned trainer and I am so incredibly happy that she was. Katherine Hart was great with my dogs, she explained everything she was doing with them step by step and made sure I understood it. After she demonstrated with the dogs I would try it and she would always tell me what I was doing wrong and showed me how to correct it and what I was doing right. She was always very sweet to my dogs. I could contact her at any time and i did , if I had any question about what we had worked on and she would promptly respond with help. . She helped me most of all because I had gotten very frustrated with one of my dogs and talking to her and having her show me how they can be trained let me see there is light at the end of the tunnel. We had tried training as a puppy with little success but this was a fantastic experience. 7 classes helping cover proper leash walking, come, going to bed and other basic commands. Just completed the 7 week basic course in Santa Clarita with Brittany. So grateful for the great program. My dog is a rescue chocolate lab with tons on energy. She was also having a hard time with other dogs by being overly excited. In fact, I thought for sure once they met my dog they would not allow her to take the class. Not only did we get to stay, Brittany taught us some great skills! My dog has improved greatly. We can even now go on a walk with out being dragged down the street.
