I had high hopes for my meal here. I love vegetables. But I don't care for smoky flavors, and that seems to be a key characteristic of the menu. I enjoyed the spicy dan dan noodles, made with delicious mushrooms. Everything else was just fine or too smoky for my tastes. I had a really nice glass of wine with my meal. The food presentation was really nice . The space is lovely and quite dark. The service was good. I recommend it to those who enjoy smoky flavors. read more

I was in Philly for work, and luckily had a free night during a busy conference weekend. I was able to meet up with a local friend, and Vedge was an awesome vegan find. At first, I was worried we would only be able to get bar seating since neither of us put in a reservation. Luckily, the wait staff was able to seat us at a booth as long as we finished by 8pm---perfect! We weren't super hungry, but we were able to share one of the appetizers and get dishes for each of us. The appetizer we got was the rutabaga fondue, with pretzel bread and pickled veggies. It was an intriguing dish and the pickled veggies added an interesting tang. For my entree, I got the grilled tofu with kanzuri glaze, okinawa potato, sunchoke miso butter, fancy radishes, and shiso. The presentation was very much on point! For the two of us, our entire meal was around $80. A great experience from start to finish! read more

Delicious food and flavorful drinks. They never get it wrong here for me. Regular prices are pricy- so I don't personally come here a lot, but very classy presentation. Vedge really understands vegan food as an art form. They will release another cook book in November and I believe that you can pre-order it now. Some vegans may not like this place because of the small portions and a few things might remind them too much of meat but many others like myself do not mind that part at all. Staff is always very friendly here. Happy hour Specials cannot be taken to go unfortunately. The healthiest vegan cheesesteak I ever had with the fresh half medium cucumber. The same owners of Vedge attempted to start up Wiz Kid and this vegan cheesesteak was one of Wiz Kid's most classic items I believe. I never had a chance to try a piece of Wiz Kid until today. You still have two more happy hours left to try this treasure after the initial date of this review of September 10, 2025! My favorite vegan cheesesteak is Joe's personally still and some vegans might be afraid to go there because they do serve meat there too. read more

What I ate: Spicy Dan Dan noodles - chewy noodles, sesame sauce and spicy. Wish I had bread or rice to soak up the remaining sauce Mushroom carpaccio - thinly sliced mushrooms that pairs well with fennel curls Idk what the dessert name was but- but the peach crumble cake with caramel and sage ice cream is a must. Why you want to eat here: Service! Very responsive to allergies and questions on ingredients even before you dine there. Super accommodating from the start to the end. Very pleasant server. Fine dining Ambiance - low light so you can't read the menu if you have eye problems lol. One of the restrooms is ADA but I'm not sure how you can get up the front stairs.... read more

A review from a year ago Late but wanted to record my thoughts: I'm not vegan, not even vegetarian, and loved this place. Especially the decadent rutabaga fondue (way more rich and incredible than I could have anticipated) and the maikake mushrooms. Beautiful place, and service was lovely. Would love to stop by again read more

Attentive service. Limited menu, but nice variety of vegetarian offerings. Quite pricey ($18/ small plate minimum ), but as a group of 4 we were good with 6 items (not the 2-3 the server suggested). Comfortable ambiance. Nice place for a special occasion. But I would limit it to that. A little high on themselves, serving to the 'I am capable' dinner. Some dishes were great, some less so. But all in all a 4. read more

WOW! Have been wanting to come again. They have a tasting menu that rotates monthly that you can get instead of a la carte options. They usually recommend 3 a la carte options per person which I feel was good (could get away with 1 less if ordering dessert too). Food came out quickly so is a fast dining experience especially if you do not order dessert. Also have alcoholic beverages and some non alcoholic options. read more

Incredible experience for vegans and anyone who likes unique food! I had a Saturday night reservation for my friend's bachelorette party and the staff was incredible. They were totally booked so definitely recommend a reservation. There is no designated parking but there could be street parking if you're lucky, and there's garages nearby. My friends and I got the tasting menu which is really the way to go - it's a 6-8 course meal where you get to try all their best stuff. Do note that in order to do the tasting menu, everyone in your party has to do it- not sure I saw that on the website or menu, so that could be made more clear. All of the food is plant based and totally transformed like nothing you've ever seen before. I am a meat eater and thought everything was phenomenal - from presentation to variety to flavors, Vedge had it all. They also had an extensive drink menu with cocktails, mocktails, wine, beer, and spirits. I believe their tasting menu rotates seasonally so it's definitely a place you can return to and get something new. Shout out to the staff who made our bride feel extra special!! Highly recommend this incredible Philly spot for anyone who wants a unique and tasty dining experience. read more

Amazing! This is a premier place in the city for a reason. What comes out of the kitchen is phenomenal! The rutabaga fondu is a delightful appetizer. It was served with a soft pretzel and pickles. Could have easily had 3 more orders of this. The stuffed avocado with crispy rice was a texture explosion. Oh my gosh! Delicious! I ordered the grilled tofu, and my dining partners ordered the Dan Dan noodles and the campfire carrot! Outstanding! Honestly, I can't imagine having this much talent and giftedness transforming beautiful fresh food into the flavor bombs that made it to our table. And the entire staff was wonderful! We were offered hangars for our coats, a seat at the bar while waiting for our table with service from a talented and friendly bartender (order the headbanger! So wonderful) and were seated at a cozy booth in the well designed comfortable converted row home. I would be absolutely remiss not to mention Joseph as our server. Calm, kind, 100 % knowledgeable of every dish that came to our table and so gentle when prompted for his "opinion" of dishes we were considering ordering. We were celebrating my friend's birthday and he delivered the most delicious gooseberry sorbet with a candle and made our night feel so special. Honestly, he was a star. And I must add, order the cheesecake. I think it has completely changed my longing for cheesecake forever, because the classic, made with non-vegan ingredients will forever pale in comparison to what I tasted last night. This place does the Philly-food-scene so proud! read more

This is the fine dining place that serves 4 course menu with wine pairing. I had full satisfaction to continue my gourmet journey as vegan here, as hardly any vegetarian restaurants offer wine pairing, but Vedge did it, and did it really well. I loved the rutabaga fondu, creamy but not greasy. The soft pretzel is exceptional. Then the pickles added perfect amount of acidity. I think it's pretty unique, highly recommended. I picked charred squash and carrots as second and third course, as I wanted to try them with dry and heavy wine. The pairing was awesome. I had Ginny's freezer martini, which was the least sweet on the menu. Love the subtle taste, very nice! Services and ambiance are top notch. The waiter is very knowledgeable and patient. He went above and beyond to respond my inquiries on wine pairing. 5 + star!! read more

Dining at Vedge is always an elevated experience! The wait staff is always so professional and knowledgeable and the menu never disappoints! It's typically recommended to get 2-3 dishes per person but my partner and I did 3 dishes and 1 dessert and were very satisfied! The cocktails are delicious and light and all of the food is so beautifully prepared and bursting with a variety of flavors! Always a treat to go here! read more

Went with omni fiancee for a nice dinner out on the town. YES THIS WAS GREAT. We got the pretzels with the pickles (the chayote pickle is a revelation, y'all), the tomato tartare and potato dish (can't remember the name, but good lord it made me so happy), the crepes, and the dandan noodles. Those pickles were not your basic pickles like you'd get anywhere else. Cold, crisp and tart. All the veggies were super fresh and were a nice balance to the rich creamy fondue. Definitely get the soft pretzels if you see them. The rest of the food was absolutely delicious, but it felt like a fever dream. Bite after incredible bite of food, all of which was did everything I wanted it to do. The onnnnnne less than perfect note was the crepes. They weren't as crisp as I'd like for a crepe to be, and the smoked filling was a little aggressive with the smokiness. Omni fiancee took one bite and was done. I ate the rest, because it was delicious, but not up to the standard of the rest of the meal.Went with omni fiancee for a nice dinner out on the town. YES THIS WAS GREAT. @vedgephiladelphia is a vegetable-focused fine dining restaurant by James Beard-nominated chefs Rich Landau and Kate Jacoby. For us, it's the gold standard and pinnacle of Philly vegan fine dining -- every dish delights, every visit unforgettable. A must‑visit. We ordered à la carte, though they also offer a tasting menu. For drinks, we enjoyed Saratoga sparkling water, hubby had a Manhattan (extra cherry ), and I sipped the GARDEN OF EARTHLY DELIGHTS -- gin, strawberry, fennel, vegan campari, and coconut milk. It tasted like a Pink Drink -- and it was divine. For dinner, we shared: RUTABAGA Fondue with today's soft pretzel & yesterday's pickles All of the CORN -- crisp hominy fritters, black pepper grits, esquites, and "birria" gravy Charred BROCCOLI Steak with low-country creamed turnip rice, horseradish butter, and turnip chow chow Spicy Dan Dan Noodles -- black vinegar glazed trumpet mushrooms, sesame, and mala pepper Blackened TOFU -- runner bean & okra étouffée, refried quinoa salad, and Tabasco vinaigrette Each dish delivered bold flavors and thoughtful textures, making it an unforgettable meal. read more

Where do I even begin... this is the kind of place where every bite is an explosion of taste. It's hard to put in into words - all I want to say is book a reservation immediately and prepare to be blown away. The fondue with the pretzel was the most convincing cheese I have ever tasted, and my non vegan boyfriend who has hated all vegan cheese agreed - he couldn't get enough. the ambiance, atmosphere... this place couldn't get any better and is definitely en route to a Michelin star. Congratulations to the entire team - I rarely leave a review but this place absolutely deserves 5 stars and more!! Very creative and good! I was curious since it's labeled as a vegan restaurant, but the dishes are all well made and well rounded. Everything just added up so quickly on the tab so it's more of a special occasion type of place and I went before a concert at the Kimmel Center. Staff are extremely kind and attentive. Came here to celebrate my friend's (who's vegetarian) birthday on a Saturday night. The interior of the restaurant is very charming, almost like you're walking into someone's home, with fireplaces and a homey kitchen. The servers were extremely attentive and let us take our time deciding what to get: We went with the portobello carpaccio (thinly sliced mushrooms, served cold), the rutabaga fondue (served with bread-like pretzel), and spicy Dan Dan noodles. The fondue was my favorite - it was unlike anything I've ever tasted, but so good. We also got one of their desserts (I forget the name), which came out with a candle. Came out to about $50 pp, which we very reasonable given the quality. read more

Great wonderful service, so kind, yet the food portions where almost microscopic for the price so I felt like I was overpaying by far for what I got. Dont even get me started on desert, The icecream on the cheesecake, tastes like a good old piece of soap, and the carrot cake, the cake tasted like very dry carrots and the cream on top tasted like wax shavings, I CANT EXXAGERATE THAT ENOUGH. On my last visit to Vedge some time ago, I found it okay. Sadly, they didn't have my favorite old Brussels sprouts dish, but rather had a different charred Brussels sprouts dish that was good. Fancy radished were pretty good too. The cocktails were okay, not great. read more

Outstanding plant based dining experience! I chose Vedge for my birthday dinner and my partner and friends played along despite not being vegetarian in the least. Nearly everything we ordered was scrumptious, and some dishes truly blew our minds (like the "cheese" dip that came with the hot pretzel). We loved our server, too! The only sticking point was that our table was next to the kitchen and it was pretty hot - not a dealbreaker but would recommend a table in the front if you can. read more

I came here for a group dinner and we ordered at least 1 of everything off the menu to try, and everything was really good! I'm so surprised at how much I enjoyed every dish, since it's vegan! My favorites were the portobello mushroom carpaccio, so so good! Just as tasty as if it were meat. The fancy radish was also so good, and I'm not even a big fan of radish. The beets arepa was also a personal favorite of mine, really refreshing and tasty. My friends really liked the eggplant dish, which didn't even taste like eggplants to me. It looked like a sausage with textures of grains, tasty tho! The Dan Dan noodles had a nice kick to it, but this one did not standout as the rest of the other dishes we tried since it was the least unique. The desserts are also good! I recommend the cheesecake and the custard. All of the sorbets flavors are unique and are delicious as well! The service was friendly and good as well! Definitely worth a visit! Everything was so flavorful and not like anything that I've ever had. read more

I'm a failed/former vegan, and I've wanted to eat at Vedge for years. My mom is vegan, and since we were in Philly for a long weekend a week, I knew we had to have dinner at Vedge. The restaurant is beautiful (Tudor vibes with dark wood and gorgeous windows), and the service was fantastic. But it's all about the food, right? We shared: smoked portabella carpaccio (with caper vinaigrette, fennel remoulade, and nigella seeds); salt baked golden beets (with sauerkraut vinaigrette, crushed avocado, cucumber, dill, and seeds); charred delicata squash (with achiote adobo, peanut pipian verde, refried quinoa, and pepitas); spicy Dan Dan noodles (with Sichuan pepper, creamy sesame, black vinegar glazed trumpet mushrooms); romanesco "tagine" (with black lentil ful, spiced tomato broth, chermoula olive salad, and pistachio baharat); roasted lion's mane mushroom (with V1 steak sauce, smoked white bean salad, and horseradish); coconut panna cotta (with miso butterscotch, matcha crisp, and kumquate); and chocolate namalake (with ube marshmallow, purple sweet potato, and grapefruit). We had a couple glasses of wine (great variety by the glass on the menu) and coffee with the meal as well. Some of the dishes didn't totally hit the mark for us. The golden beets were a little boring, the romanesco cauliflower was very, very undercooked and underseasoned (which was really too bad because the other components of the dish - especially the lentils - were delicious), and the panna cotta wasn't very successful to me (the texture was more lumpy like tapioca pudding - less smooth and with the jiggle you want from a panna cotta). But there were some serious standouts as well: the smoked portabella carpaccio (that was a dish that delicious and made me very curious - how do they do that?!), roasted lion's mane mushroom (I've never eaten that mushroom in this way before!), charred delicata squash, Dan Dan noodles, and the chocolate namalake! All delicious and creative! Overall, the food was very good - so was the service. It was a joy to eat such creative, vegetable-forward vegan food in such a beautiful, upscale restaurant. If you're vegan or vegan-curious, I recommend Vedge! It'll make you enjoy vegetables in a new way! read more

Vedge was super good! To be honest, I didn't realize it was vegan until the ice cream came out and that was a bit more obvious. You know a place is good when they nail the flavors without the meat! The dishes were also more inventive than your typical vegan/vegetarian fare so I appreciated the creativity in the meals and the presentation. My party ordered one of each dish and there were some clear winners and losers. The winners were the portabella carpaccio, squash, and rutabaga fondue. The losers were the smoked carrot (it was super hard and difficult to eat) and I also thought the stuffed avocado was a bit bland. The ambience was very nice (a tad bit upscale without being too stuffy) and the service was great. read more

Everything was absolutely INCREDIBLE! We came here with a friend for her graduation celebration and were not sure what to expect. After our meal, I can honestly say it was one of the best we have had in Philly. We ordered just about everything on the menu. Some dishes even 2-3 times, including the Dan Dan noodles! I can't remember what all the dishes were called but the highlights were the avocado, squash, noodles, carrots, and so much more! I never expected a completely vegan dinner would taste so incredible. The service was amazing throughout the meal. They handled the large group perfectly. The environment was very quaint and was near some windows of a major street to people watch. 10/10!!
