I need a SMOG and they were the local shop. A one man shop. You need an appointment. The service was quick. The owner friendly. Good place to go if you plan ahead. read more

Vasequez Quick Smog takes great care of your car while it is in their bay. Friendly and knowledgeable. They get you in and out quick! I take my company vehicles here and my personal ones too read more

My car is older (1997) and isn't the easiest to smog test. I was very frustrated and felt defeated after going to another smog place that wouldn't bother to even test my vehicle. The folks at this business went above and beyond to help me understand the underlying issue and pass my smog test. Cannot recommend highly enough. 5 stars isn't enough :) See y'all again in a couple years. read more

Great place to go for a smog. They found an issue and told me to come back after I put more miles on the truck. Had more issues come up before I could return. Brought the truck back months later and it passed. read more

Friendly, good service. If you can, try and make an appointment for the first thing in the day, or just make a note that you could be waiting a bit longer (15-30 minutes) than whatever you were quoted for in turn around time. The owner pretty much runs a one-man-show here from doing the smog test to answering the phones to ringing you up (simultaneously- so be prepared, but be nice!). He'll always try to accommodate you (and all of his guests) as best he can, so just keep that in mind as you may see him from running back and forth between his different hats. I'd clear out a bit of time for this inspection if you know you're sandwiched in between appointments. Or, just make arrangements to drop off your car there so you aren't just stuck waiting at this little mix-use-but-no-food-or-anything-to-do business strip center. read more

Vasquez Quick Smog Star Station - Smog Check Stations Near Me - Saint Helena, California

There are few options for places to get my car smogged near where I live & what there are, I feared, would be expensive. I'm happy to say that Vasquez Quick Smog was not what o would consider expensive. They answered my call almost immediately & were able to schedule me for the next day, no problem. (As well as give me an exact PO quote of how much the service would cost!) I arrived at the shop & within minutes my car was being tested. I think I waited 15-20 minutes & the car was done. He was so helpful & friendly I had to tip! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this shop. Worth every penny! read more

This guy doesn't know what he is doing. Took my car in and it didn't pass. Told me the timing was off, and he could not reset/fix it. Hmmm. This car was running great--but okay I'll take it to my mechanic who has been working on this car for years. His first comment was "He probably doesn't know what he's doing. BUT, there are instructions on how to test for smog on this car right under the hood!" , pointing to the sticker. He checked the timing, and it was spot on. He didn't make any adjustments. He then told me to take to the SMOG station down the street, and have THEM check it. Of course it passed, as it always has. I took this information with paper work proving my claim that he didn't know what he was doing. He said he couldn't do anything, and I would have to talk to the owner. Still waiting for that call.....still waiting.....waiting Update: Went back today to talk with the owner, since Marco Vasquez, the tech couldn't do anything to get me a refund. I explained to Marco that the owner Juan, had not called me back. He said that "all I can do is let the owner know". Well, the owner IS HIS DAD! AND he works in the shop next door! "He was not in today". I asked Marco if he ever talks to his Dad, since he works next door. The cover up was beginning to unfold. After a heated discussion, Marco went into to cash register and returned my money. Asked him why he couldn't do that in the beginning, and what was with all the stalling?? This place STINKS! read more

Scam!!! Car did not pass smog inspection due to a bulb and 2 codes he didn't know what they were. Took the codes to a mechanic, electrical, which could be cleared! $80 for the computer test and to take back to retest....$53!!! No thanks. Take your car to a real smog test station! read more

We've used Vaquez's smog testing place for a couple of years, for several vehicles. It's best to get a reservation, but we've dropped cars during off-hours and just left a note to have it done. The owner has to answer phones -- so if he's in the middle of a job, just leave a message. Super friendly, efficient, no nonsense. I couldn't pick up a car till after hours, and they let me return the next day to take car of the bill. He sends the results to the DMV electronically. This business is located behind some other buildings -- but they have a nice large "SMOG Testing" banner at the street to help you find the place. read more

Great service! Marcos always his best tries to squeeze you in for service if you all of a sudden realized your smog is due this week!

Vasquez smog station is GREAT. I've been taking multiple cars there for years. Reasonably priced, fast scheduling, friendly helpful staff. I was 25 minutes late today and they still fit me in, and had the smog check done in about 15 minutes while I waited. Highly recommended. read more

Nice folks but very deceptive! BEWARE OF THE VISUAL INSPECATION SCAM! I brought in our BMW with a new engine that runs very clean and will pass the strictest smog test. My husband went to pick up car and they found a tiny hose to air induction system that does not affect emissions, and said you need to fix hose or we can't pass it. This is part of there service upsell extras for non necessary repairs. They told my husband pay now and bring it back and we have to charge another 65 dollars! He said it runs very clean, below Cal emission standards, and they agreed, so why not pass the car? Juan said because it didn't pass visible inspection! So what its not release harmful emissions, so why won't you pass it, and he said I can't. I asked what happens if next time you see something else and won't pass it, they said bring it back and pay again! It's a purely objective visual inspection based on if they spot a good looking blond in a BMW, they will make up repairs that have nothing to do with air quality control! I checked with top BMW mechanics Schatz and Krum and they laughed, and said it's a big scam and that the hose I sent a picture of, has nothing to do with emission standards or polluting the air. If they sense a sucker customer (mainly women) they can look at anything and say if won't pass. They told me, like most smog places, if it don't pass you don't pay, not here! The owner calls my husband back, yelling you think we work for free? He calmly explained you can make up any excuse not to pass you with the so called visual inspection, and what happens next time if you see something else? He told me to go F off and hung up the phone! Beware of the visual inspection scam! read more

I like the owner. He is friendly and provides quick and easy service. I have always gone to Vasquez as long as I have lived here.

Beware of visual inspection scam.. This was a business I thought very highly of and recommended everyone to, but after the experience I had today, never again. So your car won't pass because of something visual? Most places will be up front and tell you "sorry, it won't pass" and that's it. But not this place. They'll waste your time while they run it on the dyno, then tell you what they already knew, then charge you! Haha. What a joke of a business this place has become. read more

Great service! Better than the St. Helena Auto Repair store next door. This is a family run business. The owner, Mr Vasquez was very helpful after I had a very bad experience with the other shop around the corner . Mr Vasquez was very accommodating and squeezed me in without an appointment. The sons and him were knowledgeable, helpful and honest! I was out of there within 20 mins. Yes, it is basically a one-man show but efficient! and I wish the family of Mr . Vasquez more business to come their way because they are good and honest crew. I highly recommend them to anyone in town of the Valley. thank you Mr. Vasquez! read more
