The food is awesome. They only offer a chef's tasting menu but I lost track of the number of actual courses. There was trout, oysters, tiny tacos, onion bhajis, divine pasta, duck pate with homemade waffles and some of the best bread I've ever had, but sadly only one slice per head. Dessert was scrumptious. Four of consumed two bottles of wine, one red and one white. Could have had more not least because it takes over two hours to work through the menu although the time passed in an ever-escalating orgy of gastronomic excellence. They operate on the basis of fixed time settings so everyone in the restaurant (about 30 in all) gets the same dish more or less at the same time. Sounds strange but it works. That said, as a tiny restaurant, there is no bar or waiting area so if you turn up early, as we did on a cold November night, you wait outside on the street as the other diners assemble and the previous sitting are shown the door. Be warned. Also, they don't offer a full bar so the birthday girl, our excuse for being here, was disappointed cocktails were not available. That's something they can and should fix. All in all, a fabulous experience which I might repeat once my credit card has exited the ICU because it ain't cheap but you gets what you pays for. read more
