My husband and I were honestly thinking of buying a timeshare here before eating at this restaurant. Mind you it's the ONLY option to eat at after skiing! The Russian bartender here is absolutely terrible! Her drinks are completely terrible! I had gotten a salad and asked for the dressing on the side just in case I didn't like it. Nothing to crazy literally all I asked for was the dressing on the side no additional options to the salad to changes just the dressing on the side. The salad was mediocre at best and $17 and then when the check comes it was an extra $4. Obviously, the $4 charge wasn't the issue for me it was the fact that I feel I was nickel and dimed for no reason. When I inquired on this charge the women said it was more work for her to put dressing on the side. I can't believe she said that! Literally who treats someone like that. Please people do yourself a favor and not only stay somewhere else but eat somewhere else!

You're too lazy after a full day of skiing to want to drive around and get food AND you have a premium parking spot which you don't want to loses so you eat here. It's a very limited menu and pricey for the quality of food you're getting. Lunch doesn't open until 12N and basically looks like the dinner menu - limited. We had dinner, drinks later and then lunch the next day. The burger (always get it well done as it still comes red in the middle), fries are nothing special and we never finish them but i would fight my spouse for the quarter slice of pickle we get, chicken wings are good and medium spicy hit the spot but more than 3 skinny slivers of celery would be nice, their special pizza was okay but I won't order it again as the vinaigrette topping was too sweet and I seriously doubt it was made fresh (FreshDirect does a better job), onion soup is tasty and I would order that again but the chicken sandwich did not look appetizing so I left that for my spouse to eat. I wish they'd serve a basic Italian dish like spaghetti with meatballs or penne with sausage and brocoli, a nice soup like NE clam chowder or chili and any sandwich not on those nasty brioche rolls (maybe they do this because they'll stay fresher longer than a nice kaiser roll). Pumpkin soup in Dec? Now there's a not so creative way to recycle their Oct carved pumpkins. Next time, i'll bring leftovers or a tv dinner before I eat here again. Drinks are ok but they need to get a decent wine.

Standard base lodge type food. Stick with the burger, wings and fries. I tried the salmon, which was dry with nothing much going on. I think I squeezed four lemons & even added a pat of butter to just make it have flavor. They add some sort of juice or orange liquor to my old fashioned, which is probably a local bar thing. Stick with beer. Convenient to post skiing with little kids tho. S'mores are provided in the back fire pit on Saturdays during the ski season at 8p for free by the hotel.

Went for brunch on Easter, buffet style food. The food was really good and there was a lot to choose from but the price of the buffet which was like $20 a person didn't include drinks. The staff was very friendly, but a little to friendly, talking at your table for a while, while you're trying to eat. I got a piece of chicken franchise and felt it was a little dry. The ham and turkey however was really good, along with the penne al vodka and penne alfredo. They had a few things for dessert and i got like a chocolate, raspberry cheesecake piece and it was amazing.

Salmon. Was a little too undercooked in the middle, but otherwise very good

First off, I love this little town. It's quaint but feels current, and very walkable. We arrived around 430P and had no issues with parking right across the street. Brandon with the aviation shades, was bartending and doing all the things. He was very nice. We ordered drinks and food with him, and he brought our order to our table. We kept the food order simple. Everything was really good and we shared all of the dishes. Wings - I ordered them sin salsa because I just love a good naked wing Street Corn Fries - these were really good, messy but good Meat & Cheese Board - simple charcuterie Pear & Truffle Flatbread - goat cheese, arugula, basil pine-nut pesto, and a balsamic glaze. This was amazing They have a decent variety of beers on and off tap, and a full bar. I had one brew with my food and it was all good. The vibe is super chill and laid back. The signage is funny, and bathroom is clean. They have a nice sized indoor/outdoor space, and host weekly events. I would definitely love to come back. When we finished up with our kayaking, we passed by again, and the place got packed and was bustling, even on a Thursday evening. Now that our friend had moved to the area, we have a good reason to visit more often. The area is a nice escape from the city.

The prices are reasonable and the service is amazing!! I went recently and had Rachel and Nash taking care of me and they were amazing. Rachel is so bubbly and radiates happiness! Their drink menu is pretty big, they are an "open" bar but the liquor they use is made locally so they only use one brand so in that way you are limited BUT the drinks are still delicious. I had the Lady's Limoncello which is featured in the little boomerang I posted. They do give you complementary trail mix (not sure what to call it - can also be seen in the background on the video) and I think that's amazing. They don't have a food menu so it's nice to have a little snack while you drink. I came from out of state and I would love to go back. Loved the experience and the staff! Also Rachel makes an amazing pina colada shot!!! It was my friend's birthday and she made us a couple of shots and they were so yummy!!

There are some great vertical drops. But... this is a mountain mostly for people with experience. I think it was a small family place that has grown and become more popular. The facilities and slopes haven't kept pace with that growth. -Most of the trails were ungroomed -Trails are not marked properly ... something is labeled a black diamond on the slopes, but a double-black on the map -There is one green run for kids and only 2 wide open blues -Most of the blue runs are chutes or narrow lanes -There are 2 lifts only. Crowded in the morning, not a big deal later on Lift tickets -Fairly priced -I accidentally bought tix for the wrong date (Sunday instead of the Saturday were were) and there is a $20 "rebooking fee". Seemed like an unnecessary money grab. The staff person was curt and rude. The lodge -Geared towards families that come there a lot (they get lockers) -Apres ski bar/music thing ... which kind of looked fun, just saying -Small and crowded on a Saturday -It's hard to find a table at lunch. Eventhough there are signs warning against it, people put their bags on tables to reserve them. We sat at one such table for 45 min without issue, and the older couple rudely kicked us off saying it was there, they had claimed it and were theirs. -Another 3 tables were pushed together and taken over with piles of half eaten food and a sign saying "don't touch our food". This isn't your personal freaking dining room. -One kid (12 years old?) mouthed off to a staff member (30's?) who responded to the kid "how would you like it if I punched you in the eye". IDK what the kid said and maybe they are related. who knows -2 bathrooms with long lines and the downstairs one was in desperate need of cleaning. -I got a veggie burger that was not a black bean burger as promised and instead some awful veggie patty connoction. It was ok once drowned in ketchup. -The parking terrible. It's $20 for the better lot, which is unpaved and as it got warmer turned into a river of mud. I'll be hosing off my equipment and clothes for sure. Otherwise, the 2nd parking lot filled up and people had to park a 1/2 mile down the road.

In the Catskills, I've skied Hunter, Windham and Bellearye, each multiple times. Plattekill is the smallest among them, but surprisingly has a 1100 ft vertical drop with skiable 110 acres. The main lift is only a conventional triple chair, so it can't handle a lot of people. The only other chairlift open is the adjacent double chair. It had been fairly cold early in the ski season, so they were able to make a fair amount of snow and had more than half their trails open after Christmas. The drive up is longer than going to the other 3, about 20 min further than Belleayre, which for us was over 3 hrs from NYC. The parking lot was not too crowded when we arrived around 9:30. Even though we did not park far, the hike to the lodge was steeper than I realized and even the area around the lifts were kind of steep and treacherous while carrying gear and hiking in clunky ski boots. My days of racing down the black diamonds are long over. These days, I just like to cruise down the green and blue trails. My favorite trail (and aptly named) has to be Shredded Mozzarella, a blue intermediate trail with undulating terrain and mostly groomed snow. My son really liked the blue trails here. The lodge is very crowded with most families squatting on the tables with their gear. We broke for lunch and were able to find an unoccupied table after a while. The food is typical ski lodge fare of chicken fingers, burgers, hot dogs & fries. I did get some hot chicken noodle soup though.
