Flew down to Oregon to purchase a truck and drive back to Anchorage and spotted this Brewery. Had to pull over and get a refreshment since our hotel was close. Enjoyed a great dinner with friendly service here. Nice selection of beers, wide variety so any beer drinker should be able to find one to their liking - or get a flight if you are indecisive! An awesome eating and drinking area makes up for decent service. Even the patio is completely surrounded by gas, which feels like something from the Four Seasons. They nailed it out of the park on ambiance and branding as well. It's kid and dog friendly, with pinball machines on the inside. Nice brewery in Coeur d' Alene not far from highway 90 with ample parking and indoor and outdoor seating. It is self serve and we were greeted promptly with menus and asked if we wanted to sample anything. We asked for Scottish ale. It was spot on and we ordered two. Service: attentive and friendly staff that are great about checking on you and refilling drinks and checking to see if additional items are needed. Food: we were hungry and we split a bratwurst and got two side salads. The bratwurst bun was delicious. The bratwurst was delicious and very generous side bratwurst. It was a bit hard to eat since the mustard went everywhere. It would have been better if they the mustard was placed on top of the bratwurst and the sauerkraut added. Then the mustard would have complimented the brat versus completely falling off and get all other my salad bowl. The brat could have used some texture like maybe grill it a bit before putting in bun, but it was still delicious. The salad had way too many onions and the carrots were water logged, but the lettuce and fresh and the balsamic dressing complimented the salad well. While visiting Coeur d'Alene for a family wedding we went to Vantage Point for a beer while we had some down time. It was so good we went back the next day!! The beers are spot on and very tasty! Try the blonde or lager with some pickles juice, it sounds odd but is very good and surprisingly refreshing. We tried several of their beers via a flight and some full pours. Did not have one we didn't like. We shared the elote corn dip and a tri tip bahmi with fries for lunch and both were excellent! It is a large venue that is family friendly with lots of both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were very friendly and helpful in guiding us through the menu and discussing there delicious beers with us. Look forward to visiting again soon! read more

DO NOT BUY THE PRETZEL!!!! We unknowingly, ordered off of the happy hour menu because it was the only one offered. We were willing to pay $8.00 which would have been a lot for 2-4" pieces of pretzel about as big around as a hotdog, not even bratwurst size. When the bill came for $11.44 we asked the bartender if it was a mistake. Nope, no mistake and he pointed out our error but didn't offer a menu to show the regular menu pricing. Really good beer. My wife and I tried a sampler flight and they were all good, although we enjoyed the darker beers more than the lagers and pilsner. We've had their wings a couple of times, the sliders, the garlic fries, the elote corn, and their sammiches. I think their buffalo wings are really good. The various other sauces are good as well, just not my cup of tea. I think the seasoning they sprinkle on the elote corn is too strong, and it would be better without any garnish. The ambiance can be rather noisy, but the outside seating is nice and relaxed. Service was quick both times we were in, so thumbs up for that. Some things that weren't all that great: Garlic fries need more garlic. I've already mentioned the seasoning on the elote corn. The noise level inside makes it hard to have a conversation, and the music can be rather loud. All in all I think this is a really good place. I'll be stopping in again. read more

This is brewery #265 for me and it's close to home so I can stop in whenever I want. VP, although using that acronym makes me think of racing fuel not beer, but just judging a book by its cover my thinking may change here. VP is well appointed outside and inside. The large grassy area outside has a couple of fire pits and a bike rack. No, not just a rack but also a little repair station with tools and air in case you need to tighten a bolt or put some air in your tires. Very cool! The inside has lots of tables and a big bar. We grabbed a table by the big roll up doors, which were closed today since we are at about 35 degrees. A flight of five for me. I was a little disappointed at first that they were out of the huckleberry hef but was excited to hear it had been replaced on tap by a barleywine. Score!!! My son got the Mexican lager which was quite good but a little too much lime for me. The first for me was the Alt Bier which I could drink quite a few of. A very good example of the style I thought. The Helles lager was very nice and refreshing. The barleywine was not my favorite. It had a little funk that I couldn't quite place. Next up was the porter which I really did like. Last in the flight was the Westie, West Coast IPA. Nice hop aroma and flavor here. We ordered an appetizer of elote dip which interesting came with potato chips. It was good with potato chips but I couldn't quite get past feeling it needed corn chips. The dip was excellent though. SWPFTD had ordered the Marzen and after a sip of that I decided to go with a pint of that. Yes, a very good Marzen! I ordered the French dip while SWPFTD ordered the Reuben. My son got a fowl of brisket chili which was fantastic. All the food was really good. Vantage Point is a new brewery but has a great space, great food, and some great beers. Was in Coeurdalene and had never been to Vantage Point so i decided to check it out. More than pleasantly surprised. This guy knows what he`s doing. Did a flight and liked everything i tasted. Was going to do two IPA`s on the taster but i asked the Beertender what their flagship Ale was. She said the brewer was real proud of the Helles Lager so i added it instead of the second IPA. Glad i did. It was Killer. So much flavor. Everything was well made. The Saison was a bit fruity for my taste but it too was well made. Nice vibe to the place. Nice outdoor area when the weather is good. This will be a must stop everytime i`m in the area. read more

What a fun evening! We were greeted and seated promptly. and had THE BEST server, Jacquie. Our group was nearly 20 and the server and trainee duo was attentive and did a great job keeping up with requests, refills and orders. I tried the Mexican Lager, which I found to be refreshing (and cold) on a very warm day. I ordered garlic-Parmesan chicken wings, which were perfectly prepared...crispy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. The ambience is happy and relaxing, while also conducive to a family evening out. While you're there, be sure to check out the photographs of the Vantage Point Fire Towers. I hit a whole bunch of different breweries, much of it being brewery shopping in which I take home beer to enjoy later recently in the Idaho Chimney. At one of the breweries I was at one owner was like an encyclopedia for the surrounding breweries. He mentioned that Vantage Point was a new brewery and that he felt some of their beers were hit and miss because of the newness. That didn't deter me from paying a visit here. I have to say I was fairly impressed. I had a New Zealand Pilsner which I really liked. I don't see these types of pilsners often and the few times I have had one I was very impressed for a different spin on the usual pilsner and Vantage Point was no exception with theirs. I was feeling a little bit munchy but wanted something fairly simple and got a wonderful, fresh salad with a great vinegarette dressing . Another great meal while on my trip even if it was just a salad I felt I had good, quality produce. After eating and finishing my pilsner I noticed that the brewery didn't have a pokéstop and I tried to make their location nominated for one. Somebody who worked there thought I was taking a picture of their bicycle rack but no... I had to do a lot of effort for unsuccessful signing in to the Pokémon Go app which made me look like I was floundering about in their parking lot but needless to say it was just somebody who might like this seven year old game just a little bit too much. read more

Saturday morning I read an advertisement regarding smoked ribs on my media page from your business. I thought, well I'll drive over to check it out during the day. In between my Tubbs walk and golf. I parked and saw the smoker...I looked at the shelves holding the meat, smelled delicious as the smoker was doing what smokers do. No one was around and I didn't see any menu, pricing so I entered the restaurant. I approached the bar and stood there. One employee was standing across from me and three were to my right folding napkins, prepping. I didn't want to bother them so I stayed quiet. After a brief long quiet, one employee to my right asked if I needed anything. I said, yes could I see a menu for the ribs. She said, yes, and walked to my left and handed me the menu. Suddenly the employee in front of me at the bar says we aren't open until 1pm. I'm shocked at the abrupt tone and he just looked off in the distance. The woman employee says, it's 12:54. The guy at the bar says, "I don't care, we aren't open until 1pm." I'm quiet...I look at the three employees who look away and down at their prep work. I felt, like how dare I walk in and ask for anything. I'm wondering what I did wrong? I was kind, I asked politely, I paused and was very careful not to upset any employee. I said thank you and exited. Now..........this is my fourth time here. I've mostly come in by myself and had a glass of wine. I have paused not to order food because of watching how stressed the staff is and hearing their banter. I exited and turned on the car engine to get the air conditioner on and reflected on this experience. Two of my prior times, I was ignored because staff focuses on someone they know or a couple. One time I sat at bar at least five minutes just watching as I was passed up. The one time, the customer to my left told the bartender hey, can you serve this guy, he's been waiting. The customer told me I'd get quicker service as they get to know me. No exaggeration on this....this was about four months ago on a Friday. So, I wanted to surprise my wife with smoked ribs part of a birthday week. THAT shouldn't be the reason to be acknowledged. I'm over 60 years old....THAT shouldn't be the reason I'm not acknowledged. I was by myself and THAT shouldn't be the reason I'm not acknowledged. I'm NOT a tourist and that shouldn't be the reason I'm not acknowledged OR spoken to like a rude teenager. ANY excuse your employees have in regards how I've been treated IS NOT acceptable. I worked and successfully completed two careers which many people could not or even attempt. This is probably my worst review I have ever written. The two stars is for Hope.....hope that you might treat everyone equally. We've heard good things but haven't experienced it. We found this area by accident in 2021. We live in a great neighborhood and made friends. BUT, this area greatly lacks respect in regards to restaurant customer service and general attitude. My grandparents owned and worked in the restaurant business their entire lives. I also worked during my teens so I know AND understand customer service. We will be moving to another part of Idaho in 2024 where we've found that everyone is welcomed. I'm done with excuses and I'm not picky. By the way......we both cook very well and the restaurants we visit in other areas show, we chose wrong in moving here. read more

This is the worst place in Coeur d'Alene now. It makes me sick to see what they did to this place. The outdoor area had such potential, but the management just ruined this place. I went there yesterday, and all the staff had turned over YET again! What type of management has complete staff turnover every 2-3 weeks? A shity one. I watched this place start with some promise, but in less than 6 months, it has gone to complete shit. They have spent a lot of money on the location, building, and outdoor area, which was a great idea. Too bad they can't keep any staff that is worth a damn. The beer I liked? Gone The food that was good? Gone What do they have now? All cheap substitutes, with even higher prices. There was a beer i liked that i had there many times. I asked for it, and the rude waitress said 'It just blew so get something else"....i asked if they'll get a new Keg up and running since it's the 4th of july weekend and all. She responded: "NO!"...and walked away. She didn't care, or offer me something else, was just rude as F**k. I'm SO disgusted with this place now. Id rather drive 20 miles to another place than spend another dime in this horrible place. read more

I don't really add reviews often, but this had to be done!! I had an issue with a keg I bought for my home kegerator. (Most likely my fault) I called into the brewery for questions. They didn't have anyone available at the time so the very polite receptionist/worker that answered sent my info to the owner. I very quickly got a call from Kevan the owner! He went through my entire system with me over the phone on his own personal time to make sure I was taken care of. Spent about 20min going from top to bottom to eliminate possibilities. In the end I think I ran the kegerator too cold. Oops! He told me to come back and he would take care of me. This kind of customer service is not seen often these days and I am super appreciative of Kevan and his staff for making sure I was happy and well taken care of! Good, but not great. I've been to this place a few times, i think the food is great, drink selections are great & it has a great atmosphere. Their downfall is purely service related. We thought this place would be great for a monday evening wind down with some drinks & a small appetizer, but we were wrong. We were sat for about 20 minutes before we had a server come up, instead of greeting us we were brought 2 plates of food that weren't ours, not a huge deal we just told the server that it wasn't for us but we would like to order. He came back & told us he will take our order AFTER he took the table next to us even though they had come in about 10 minutes or so after us. Server came to take our order after he took theirs and put it in the system so now we are looking at 30 minutes before we even get to ORDER a drink. We order a mimosa flight & one of the seasonal ciders they offer. A few minutes goes by and we were brought yet another order that wasn't ours, and then again drinks that weren't ours! About 15 minutes later we get the mimosa flight, and nothing else... (we ordered the cider too) We figured we'd give it a few minutes, maybe his hands were full, maybe something else happened.. but nope, our server could be none the wiser. We ended up drinking the entire mimosa flight without any acknowledgment of the missing drink or waters we had requested as well. Had to stop the server to ask him for the check because we had pretty much given up on ordering food at this point. Very disappointing, i think this place has such great potential & it's in an amazing tourist area of CDA. Service really needs to step it up. Looking at other reviews this seems to be a common issue. I love the food, i love the drinks.. but the service everytime i come is just terrible:( read more

The last 2 times I went service was excellent. I have been when they are short staffed- Please have some compassion for the employees that show up! They are doing their best! Amazing brewery food! Burgers, chicken sandwiches and my favorite roasted butternut squash salad. They are very accommodating with their menu. You can add or subtract ingredients without a problem. The weather is not great, so I guess that counts for the restaurant to be almost 100% empty and it's a Sunday night, however, no excuses for food to be served lukewarm, like chicken wings! This is a nice addition to CDA's list of culinary and drink establishments and it isn't in the hub-bub of Sherman Ave. Easy access from the freeway, but parking lot is seriously challenging when they are busy. Vantage Point is brewing some of their own brews, but have other brews available. The food is a definite plus for variety and quality. I had the chicken tortilla soup and the gumbo and both were top notch. Faith was our server both times and made the rounds effectively and efficiently. local was somewhat rural. the venue was wide open with outdoor and indoor dining, the garage door openings blending the two areas seamlessly. nice music playing (70's and 80's rock). we went early and shared apps. by 5 pm there were crowds starting to come in. they were setting up for live music about that time. anyway we had wings. the huckleberry wings were very good as were the dry rub wings. all in all, a 4/5 meal. read more
