I have been to Black Lodge Brewing twice now. The first time I was here I only saw guest taps from other breweries as craft beer menu options. I got a growler of beer from a different brewery here so that proved to be successful and pleasant. I went poking around on Untappd and looked up anything Black Lodge Brewing may have made and they certainly had some intriguing beers so I held off on getting a Yelp review posted for it. But on my second visit I was told that they don't brew their own beer anymore and that they only have guest taps from other breweries but they still had a good variety of beer to choose from as far as beer options go. So this place is more of a taphouse with guest taps so something to keep in mind. It's still as cool as I remember it. My last visit here looked like a concert was going to start. Might have been a metal or a punk oriented type band as that was what the audience appeared to be. I wasn't going to see the show and just wanted a beer so they were nice enough to let me in to do just that. Black Lodge Brewing is one of those breweries that is inspired by the TV show Twin Peaks and you pick up subtle nods to it there with some pictures of Laura Palmer. I bought some swag for this brewery online and while they had several designs I went with the logos that had the opening credits styled from the show with the brewery name on it. read more

We were visiting from LA and were lucky to stumble upon this awesome brewery. The guys were super welcoming and service was great. We had two kids and a baby with us and they were extremely accommodating, offering the kids crayons and paper to color on to keep them busy, which allowed us parents to relax for a much needed minute. We ordered the artichoke dip and the kids cheese pizza, which was huge (for a kid's meal) and super cheesy with great crust, YUM! We got a few different beers - all were delicious - and took a couple cans of the Thai tea seltzer to go. The bartender/server invited the kids back to watch how he made the cans so that was cool. Overall very relaxed and friendly atmosphere, exactly what I was looking for with three kids. My husband loved the music and kept telling the guys it was his favorite stop of our whole trip! read more

We had done time around town today and had been wanting to check out Black Lodge Brewing. Up till now we had always been around when they were closed. So it worked out today and we visited my 285th brewery. Great decor and plenty of bar space. It wasn't busy at all at about 12:30 when we walked in. Which was nice for us as we spent quite a bit of time talking with Ginger, the owner/brewer about beer, pizza, and more. With a small brew system the number of taps pouring beer brewed in house was small. Small but mighty! SWPFTD ordered the IPA and I had the porter. Both were really good and there were more beers on tap from local breweries if you wanted something a little different. We were a bit hungry so we ordered a salad and cheese bread. Both were great but the cheese bread crust encouraged me to try the pizza. We happened to be there when they were selling it by the slice so I ordered a meat lovers. Sausage, pepperoni, ham, and bacon. Great and a little spicy, which come to find out is from the sausage which is made locally at Gentleman Sausages on 4th. We've been in there before and the sausage is legit. Using quality ingredients is what leads to good food and the pizza was really good. When all was said and done we both agreed we loved BLB. We will be back for sure and we're sorry it took us so long to make it in. First time going. Such a great place with really fresh-tasting pizza. Didn't feel "ugh" like you normally do at joints that use subpar ingredients. I found out from an employee (or owner?) that they have concerts year round. Pretty stoked a place like this exists in Coeur d'Alene! read more

My log has something to tell you -- that you should immediately get yourself on over to Black Lodge Brewing, a damn fine establishment if you are a fan of friendly service, the punk/hardcore scene, and, of course Twin Peaks. As a fan of all of the above, and in particular, a massive David Lynch fan, I nearly shat myself upon serendipitously stumbling upon this place, whereupon I proceeded to shamelessly fangirl all over the Lodge's very kind owner, Ginger, who graciously listened to me prattle on, despite being busy running a bar, and then gifted me two amazing stickers. Being a California girl, I had my doubts that there would be cool stuff to see and do in Idaho, but Black Lodge Brewing just blew those out of the water. We were actually on our way to a different restaurant and decided to give this place a try. Big mistake. I ordered The Choppa- supposedly it's a pizza sandwich. For only having mozzarella, pepperoni & marinara you'd think they'd heap on the pepperoni. Nope, had to hunt for it to see if there even was any. I would have preferred gluten free bread but I saw that they use Udi's for an extra $2 which is a huge rip off because Udi's bread is tiny. Only have bags of chips as a side which is disappointing when you pay $14 for a sandwich. My son ordered the nuggets which came way after our food and despite being super hot were soggy which tells me they were microwaved. The lack of fries tells me they don't have a fryer and when the fire alarm went off while we were eating waitress said that happens when they open the oven door so they weren't cooked in the oven for sure either. My mom got the Thai flatbread which she said was good. We were the only people in the entire place and our food still took a crazy long time. Especially if just being microwaved. They charged for the ranch sauce after asking my son what dipping sauce he'd like with his nuggets and it was so obviously Hidden Valley Ranch that I couldn't let him eat it due to an allergy to corn syrup. When my mom sent back her tiny flat nasty tasting mimosa the waitress just said "I just opened that champagne" which, if true is not our problem as it was totally flat and I never heard a cork pop despite sitting right near the bar in an empty place. Horrible service. Even worse food. Took an hour for 4 sandwiches that were just white bread gas station garbage. Didnt have half the ingredients for the menu and missed the other stuff in the salad too. Decent beer list But they really are just understaffed and way over their heads with the menu. Too bad really and the guys attitude, fighting us at the end trying to pay and say something about the experience. was just too bad. Poor spot overall read more

Stopped by this awesome brewery after picking up our packets for the CDA half marathon. Great staff and owner. We had the One Armed Man IPA, Mexican Lager and Grand Teton Root Beer (non alcoholic), all were very tasty. Stop by for a great drink, conversation and Twin Peaks trivia. read more
