Worst Customer "Service" EVER! I was on vacation and shopping before heading to the airport. The clerk "Ariel" said what I wanted they didn't have in stock and she could process a mail order for me so that I wouldn't be charged shipping, I mentioned that the price was a sale price here in the store and she said "it wasn't a problem and would be the same on line". She had me put my CC info into a tablet as well as my mailing info, I noticed the tablet had a shipping charge of $17 right above the send key. I mentioned it to Ariel who ignored me and hit send and submitted the order. I asked to look and she wasn't wanting to show me. I asked again to have the tablet back and she proceeded to clear the screen and told me to enter all my info again. UM NO!!!! Not happening! I told her I wasn't doing that and was there a manager that could help me. She looked at me totally confused, went over to another associate and gave her the tablet and proceeded to head to the back store room. This new lady who had the tablet now ALSO wouldn't so me the details of the order. I pulled my bank account up on my phone and saw a pending charge for $54.14. The shoes I was going to get in the store were on sale for $24.99. The on line price was $35 (not the same as in store like the clerk had told me) and they charged me the outrageous shipping charge. I needed to leave to go to the airport and I requested that the order be cancelled because I didn't want them at this price. The new clerk, who was supposed to be "helping" me told me she was in a live chat with the company and she was trying to refund me the shipping. Now my sister was with me in the store and she was IRATE at how long this was taking and the fact that no one was trying to cancel the order. Then a male comes out of the back room and approaches me and tells me there are two options. 1.) I get refunded the shipping charge or 2.) they can TRY and contact their customer service line and "try" to get me a refund. I asked him who he was and what was his title. He told me he was the manager and his name was Arturo. I told him I wanted the order cancelled and to be refunded and he was not trying to hear that. This is where my sister got involved and told him that he needed to pull cash out of the drawer and refund me and take care of the return once we left since he is the manager and he can do things like that. He was not interested in helping me, the predicament I was in or being compassionate AT ALL! I had to even ask who he was. Needless to say after a lot of embarrassment and and half hour later, I finally left the store with cash he gave me from the drawer, and about 45 minutes later I saw the charge erased from my bank account. These people weren't interested in helping the customer AT ALL!!! I have worked in customer service for 20 years and you DO NOT treat people like this. Even if there is procedures or complications, you always be polite and apologetic to your customer. This has left such a horrible effect on me. I have no desire to ever own another pair of Vans. I wrote to the company, the BBB, and my local news channel about the horrific experience. No response yet of course from Vans. But I will keep at it and Tweeting as well! I can NOT find a Yelp for the Aventura Mall Location store 522. read more
