Previously I have purchased suits from Suit Supply on Miami Beach. Each time I have had alternations to the garments. The result has been well fitted. quality clothing. Unfortunaty that was not my most recent experience. Jared lacks experience which becomes obvious when he has to try to fit a garment. It is even worse that his manager, I think Sara, does not intervene and allows him to make blatantly ill fitting garments. I understand the concept of Suit Supply--nice suits that can be tailored onsite that are with the times and customizable. There's a huge issue though, there's nothing special about the suits or the experience. The experience felt very car salesman like and we weren't impressed by the suits/accessories available. We looked at several options and nothing had the wow factor. We also don't feel like we were shown much, so much was out of stock/unavailable. At one point we were even asked that we could buy a suit looking at a similar one--that's ridiculous. For the experience we could AND DID go to Saks off 5th and bought a designer suit for the same price. Drove all the way from Orlando to finally get fitted properly after about a year + worth of online window shopping. Glad I went in person as my normally 42L off the rack size is at suitsupply a 44R. Tim assisted me with my purchase and was patient, helpful and kind. Honestly the only other time a suit has felt so naturally good to me off the rack was when I put on a $2000 Armani at Neiman Marcus just to see what it felt like. I love the Suit Supply brand and whenever my husband and I travel around the US or internationally, have made a fun tradition to make sure to stop by and pick up some items he can wear during the trip. As a result, I have experienced the incredible service that I think has become synonymous with suit supply. Everywhere, except for this location. Let me be direct: do not shop here. I have never seen less engaged employees, who not so much as look up from an iPad to acknowledge your presence. I looked at my watch and it took a full seven minutes for someone to even ask if we needed help. When we identified an item my husband would like, we were told that unless we were truly serious about purchasing, they can't open it up for us to try. Little did he know, we had intended to purchase a full four sets of outfits as a fun set of Miami looks, but I literally cautioned my husband to buy one item and shop elsewhere because I refused to buy more items at a place that treats their customers this way. My recommendation is if you are a new suit supply shopper, go to the Brickell location (which we have also visited) for better service and experience. The Miami Beach location was my first, found it to be an enjoyable experience. I purchased my first suit (Red Line) from their location. I would consider myself a difficult buyer as I'm picky with fit and fabric feel. I also value the service side of buying clothes where a well trained consultant - Kash was awesome! - helps find what you are looking for and has you feeling good about dropping some coin. Disappointing experience. My boyfriend was very excited to get a new suit so I helped by doing a lot of research and saw good reviews about Suit Supply and their quality. We had a good experience picking out the suit with the sales associate and their tips on how to alter it to give him the best fit. My boyfriend didn't really need many alterations, he's average built 6'1 and 185lbs. While we had a good experience shopping, the real issues came with the quality of the suit and the alterations.The first issue we noticed was the threading from the alterations in the leg were unraveling and turned into a hole. The second alteration to shorten the arm left one arm longer than the other. We brought the suit back in to have them fix it. Which was an inconvenience. After he wore it on a business trip he noticed another rip was forming in the pant leg as well as in the armpit. After looking at the suit closely, it's clear the quality of the sewing was cheaply done. It's sad because he really loves how the suit looks on him but it's not worth the headache of going through this experience buying another suit from Suit Supply again in the future. *Updated Review* They reached out to my boyfriend and offered to refit him for a new suit. Terrible experience !!! We ordered a suit for y husband back in march. It. And it arrive over 2 months later. On our way to store we called that we were running g late the salesman isn't care at all!!!said if we come to close to closing they wouldn't help my husband to fit the suit. We went to try it on and it didn't come close to fitting it was totally different then what was ordered. Then they brought a different size and jacket was swimming. I called and Sebastian was fully understanding on the situation and helped me buy a brand new suit and necessary accessories 90 minutes before the wedding. I have never had a better experience buying clothes of any kind period. The suits sold here are generally made from worsted wool from the top notch Italian mills (unless you choose to go with one of the wool blends). No polyester whatsoever. The construction of the suits are half canvassed, unlike the fused construction (glued together basically) of most department stores or shops you'll find at a typical mall. Nobody beats SS value to price ratio at the under $500 range. The blue line cut suits are $400 which may sound like a lot, but when you consider that Macys on their best sales are $250 for a bar III suit, it's not even close. The department store suits typically have polyester interiors, fused construction (they don't last, especially if you travel with them), the wool quality isn't as nice, and most importantly the fits just aren't as well designed. Other stores like express, CK, BR, are the exact same by they try to use their brand power to trick gullible people into spending more money than the department stores. Men's warehouse and Jos A Bank are for the most part, the exact same crap quality construction, until you get into very high prices, in which case you are still better off spending your money elsewhere. It's amazing those last two brands in particular have created a brand around suits. When you walk into SS, people that have clearly been trained in suits help you find the best cut for your body type. The cuts are modern, high arm holes, various shapes to actually contour to your body well. They also have an in store tailor who does minor alterations on site, which is necessary for most suits. The entire beginning to end experience, is that with minimal effort, you walk out with the *perfect* suit for under $500. This is so much better than waiting for a department store sale, dealing with people that don't know a thing about suits, buying something of lesser construction (that may look o.k., but definitely not great), and then having to take it somewhere else for minor alterations. Compared to higher end places, SS beats Brooks Brothers on the value to price. BB suits are great, but not worth $1k. J Crew gets an honorable mention here, but playing the game where you wait for some sale is annoying, and their ludlow in worsted wool still usually ends up more expensive, and the SS construction quality is still a little higher. Also Jcrew ppl don't know anything about suits. The Lincoln road location in particular is great. Its large, you can try on everything, the staff is very helpful, and can educate you of the various arcane traditions regarding suits, they have a huge terrace, provide water and coffee while you try stuff on, and they are very experience focused. Don't waste your time like I did comparing random department store or mall suits. Go here, get a blue or purple line suit and walk out very satisfied. read more
