This place has been around for years but it was my first time here. You have to call or set up a time online. I called as I needed pants altered for a funeral. They must be good and popular cause it took about 2 weeks to get my alteration. It was going to be a bit longer but they were accommodating when I told them it was for a funeral in a specific date. These ladies are amazing! I was looking to get a second-hand wedding dress turned into a floor length formal gown, and they did an amazing job! I needed the straps adjusted, waist taken in, buttons cut off, train cut off, and that cut hemmed. I got the top adjusted and went in for another fitting since adjusting the straps and waist would affect the hem. You can tell they care about your wants and needs! You do not need to call and make an appointment, you just walk in. They also only take cash. You tell them when you need the item done by and they make it work! And the price? Amazing. I got quoted almost 500$ by another seamstress for the exact same alterations and I paid 130$ total for everything at Van's. They list out exactly what alteration costs (ex. I needed to get a bridesmaid dress hemmed and the straps shortened a little bit and thought of this place right away! It is a small, family owned business but they have a lot of loyal customers in the area it seems. Brought in my dress along with the shoes I would be wearing for the wedding and one of the women had me try it on and stand on a podium for her to pin where to hem it at. Two dressing rooms available in the back of the store so it can get a little backed up if a lot of people are dropping off/picking up. They ask you when you need your item(s) by and can most of the time work around your schedule. They called me when my dress was ready early in case I wanted to come by which was very nice. The women here are very sweet. Prices are a little bit higher than surrounding alteration businesses but you get quality product in the end! I don't mind paying a little bit more here because I know it will be a great job! My parents have brought their pants here in the past and said the prices were good so I think my dress was just more expensive because of the material and number of layers. So bring what you need altered and see what they quote. read more

Took in uniform blouses and pants for alteration and they were altered perfectly and in a reasonable amount of time. I admire the skill and craftsmanship that the tailors at this business show their customers. They were polite, professional, and timely. The hours can change a bit over holidays, so give yourself extra time if you need something altered during that time. Check the door to the shop, they post a change-of-hours on the door.
