I have been to several tailors in Virginia Beach, and Suky's is by far the best! Price: the pricing is very comparable to anywhere else, if not better. I got 3 items sewn onto my uniform today and it was only $7, which is awesome. I have always used Suky's for dry cleaning as well. Turnaround time: I have never brought anything to Suky's that they couldn't get done for me to pickup the next day. If it's super busy, it might be a 2 day turnaround, which is awesome, especially considering getting this stuff done on base can take weeks (which is ridiculous, I know). Service: the folks that work at Suky's are probably the nicest people I have ever met. They're so kind, always call everyone sir or ma'am, very respectful and always in a cheery mood. Suky's is what I miss most about living in Hampton Roads. I took all of my uniforms, suits, shirts, etc. to Suky's when I lived in VB and have yet to find a tailor that offers comparable workmanship and value in northern Virginia. Suky's put a pocket inside the jacket of one of my suits and did an absolutely beautiful job. I took that jacket as an example to a tailor in Springfield asking for a similar pocket in another jacket, and the tailor insisted the jacket came with that pocket and a tailor couldn't possible replicate the "original work." In short, Suky's is better than other tailors. I miss them so much. read more

Horrible! I dropped by 10 polo and collared shirts for alterations. I was quoted a price, paid on the spot, and was given a date a week later for pick up. I showed up to get my items, and they told me that they were not even started yet. What?? They said that they were willing to "start them now", but I refused. There was no offer of a discount for my inconvenience, and I then asked for a refund. It took them 20 minutes to figure out how to process a refund thru their system, all the while waiting on other customers. I left and took my items to Ida's seamstress in Norfolk. She charged me $100 dollars vice the $130 Suky wanted for the same thing. Beautiful job, on time and saved 30 bucks. I now have a new Taylor and will never step foot in Suky's again in this lifetime. i tipped IDA half the difference ($15). read more

For the military, it's an okay shop when you need a job done quickly. A majority of their business is for military uniforms but they do some tailoring for civilian clothes as well. Good for straight forward name tags and tailoring. Not good for custom sewing jobs. read more

In my experience, Suky and her staff are terrible business people that lose uniforms and refuse to compensate their patrons. They are immoral and unwilling to do what is right for the customer. The customer is supposed to be always right...except at Sukys. At Sukys, YOU are always in the wrong. Take your business elsewhere is my strongest opinion. I've gone to Suky's Tailor for both uniform and normal-people-clothes tailoring (even my toddlers clothing!) and she's always been great and super quick. Do note though that most military use her for alterations, so during certain times of the year she gets really busy and can get a little back logged. But, she does her best to accommodate even during those times. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Great work and very speedy turnaround despite the large number of people bringing them work. Very knowledgeable on military uniforms and the correct placement of patches. I went here to drop of my blues for an upcoming inspection and judging by the long line of people I thought there would be no way they get it done in time but they did not disappoint. Highly recommend this shop for all your military uniform needs. It was $21 to get all the patches sewn on my blues top (rank, service stripes, command rocker) and get the blues pants hemmed. I think that was a very reasonable price for the quality of work, speedy turnaround, and excellent customer service. read more

I brought two fluffay very expensive winter down coats with fur around the hood, one was Marc Jacobs and one was Juicy Couture. The Juicy Coat had lots of gold decorations hanging off of it. Im always terrified leaving my expensive items at the cleaners...... Sukys always takes the best care with tailoring, cleaning, sewing any item in record time. I have left True Religion jeans, Juicy couture, Leather and fur coats everything comes back lovely. I would trust them with a vera wang wedding dress, or Versace Slacks. Great Work. read more

Dropped off my dress blues to get a new patch put on and I never saw them again. They took my slip and said that someone had already picked it up. I have an extremely uncommon last name so I do not understand how this is possible. They said this wasn't their responsibility and wouldn't do anything about it. This place is shady and I wouldn't recommend. Try explaining to your command that the dry cleaners gave away your uniform. read more

Paid for a rush job for some sleeve striping. Dropped off early on Saturday and told I could pick up first thing on Wednesday. Arrived Wednesday and told to come back later. It's now 1630 and still waiting for pickup. Why promise a time when you can't keep it? Excellent establishment and very prompt service. The Nex messed up my husband's uniform and we took it to them to fix. Nex was quoting over 8 days for switching out his warfare patch. Suky's did it in under 6 minutes free of cost despite that they didn't need to. Very grateful. The nex didn't apologize for the error (we purchased an enlisted warfare patch and still had the receipt to prove after they sewed an officer one). I highly recommend this place for all of your military uniform sewing and alterations. Very friendly staff and prompt service. A side note, the parking lot is tiny and shared with other businesses. It's resurfaced which is great but it fills quickly and can become cramped when you try to get out. But that's not the business's fault so personally it doesn't affect my rating of their store. read more

I went there during a lunch hour and the place was really busy. Even though it seemed hectic, the line ran very smoothly. When it was my turn, I gave my garments for patches to be sewn and she asked when do I need it by. I asked if there was a chance to get it by end of the day and she said flat out, "Yes" Whether you're close to Little Creek Naval Base or not, Suky and her staff is just awesome. My husband needed some patches and name tapes sewn on his utilities so we dropped everything off at Suky's around 11 am on a Saturday. It was bustling and busy but the man who took everything from my husband said it would be ready by 2 pm that day. I was a little surprised by how quick it would get turned around and was thinking it wouldn't happen considering how busy they were. Well, at 2 pm we went back and his stuff was ready. I don't remember how many patches and name tapes he needed done, but it was about $60 for everything. This beats taking everything to the NEX uniform shop because they would have taken more than a week I'm sure to get things done. So if you need something quick, go to Suky's. read more
