I have used Sun's Tailors several times and I am very pleased with her work. She has hemmed at least five pairs of pants for me. The last two pairs were ready for pickup on the same day, which was really convenient for me since I live on the Eastern Shore and wouldn't be back in Virginia Beach for three weeks. It's hard to find a little shop to do quality alterations at a reasonable price. This little gem is close to my home and I have been a customer for over 5 years. Located across from Kroger on Shore Dr. in a small strip with Rita's you would miss it if not looking for it. Parking out front of the shop is never a problem. The front of the store is always well maintained. This nice hard working woman who owns the place is a full service shop with alterations, embroidery, patching and name tags. She does a lot of military work since the area lends itself to it. I believe she is Korean, or Filipino... but in any even she is a little bit hard to understand at times. However, she smiles and is very sweet. Even though communication may be slowed at times she understands her customers needs. The turn around is usually within a week and prices are better than other places I have been. A little known fact is she even takes military uniforms to the dry cleaner (for charge) so it's a one stop shop. The workmanship is solid too. I would recommend Sun's to any of my friends. read more

I've been coming to Sun's for several years. I've been satisfied with the service and workmanship. The prices can be a little higher for certain work, but I'd rather keep receiving good service. You pay for what you get. They recently changed owners, but so far she seems to be just as good. She is very friendly like the previous owner. The turn around time is reasonable. I have been here multiple times over the last year with jobs as small as a pants hem to a last minute gown alterations to a hem in a crocheted dress. The tailor has always been flexible with time constraints and never disappoints. I have been very happy with her work. She does collect upfront, but I don't mind. I highly recommend her. read more

I would never recommend this business. I brought my daughter's dress there for homecoming alterations, she did a fitting with her as well, and the dress was longer than what was promised after the alteration. Be ware! Be ware! I took an unlined sheath style dress and two pairs of pants that needed new elastic run through the casing. I was charged $48. I did not put one pair of the slacks on until I returned from a trip out of the country. I found, no new elastic was run through the casing. I took them back and I was told I would have to pay again for her to run new elastic. She picked up a wash bucket with all of the old tickets in it and said she had to find my original order, even after she measured the waist of the pants and saw I was correct that new elastic had not been put in. She then started whining "I am just a small business owner." The new owner was totally unprofessional. Her prices are much higher than the previous owner and her workmanship leaves a lot to be desired. I will definitely find a new person. read more

I called this place to get information about hemming a gown. I had 3 gowns I needed them to be shorter, so when I called I asked about their services and how many days it took. The lady was really rude, her response was " if you need information come to the shop, I have a client I need to go! " and hang up! With that response I'm not even bothering to go there! read more
