I live in Laguna Beach and for years I used a tailor that several stores at South Coast Plaza use. On a whim one day, when I needed a job done quickly, I tried Van Tailor since I live nearby. I've been going to Van Tailor exclusively now, for a couple of years. There's nothing Wendy can't do. I had a silk gown for our daughter's wedding that she took apart and remade so that it fit me perfectly. My husband has her with his designer suits. I'm so glad we found her. She isn't inexpensive, but her pricing is fair because she's the best we've found. I trust her because she does beautiful work each time, no matter what fabric or item I've needed altered. For small jobs, I've found her to work very fast as well, which is convenient when I'm traveling or need something done quickly. read more

Van Tailoring - Front of store - Sewing & Alterations Near Me - Laguna Beach, California

I needed a shirt and pair of pants tailored. Great gem in Laguna. Quick turnaround on my request. She knows what she is doing and will give her honest opinion if something looks like it needs tailoring. Five stars! read more

I brought in a vintage Gucci dress that had beautiful lines but then strange asymmetrical straps that meant the dress did not stay on me well. I was very nervous about how tailoring might change the line and the fit of the dress but she did an amazing job. She had me come in part way through the alteration to check and measure again since it was a very complicated tailoring, and at that point we made some adjustments, which I really appreciated. By the end it was just beautifully done and fit perfectly!! read more

My taylor moved location and I had to find another. I have used Van Tailor three times now and Wendy does such beautiful work. Van/Wendy is better than my "past" long time taylor and Wendy's prices are very reasonable for such quality work. Highly recommend. read more

Uwen did an amazing job altering my dress for my sons wedding! She had to shorten it and add little cap sleeves with the remaining fabric. She did an incredible job and is a truly talented tailor - I would trust her with any job! Thank you Uwen! read more

Wendy and Van Tailor are amazing! I brought Wendy a white jumpsuit to wear to my rehearsal dinner and she hemmed and tightened the top of the jumpsuit on a rush job in 3 days. Wendy was prompt and professional. read more

Wendy is always very welcoming and she definitely is an expert tailor. A great improviser as well when presented with a problem.

I am not sure where the negative reviews are coming from because I found my experience with Van Tailor to be delightful. Wendy was my seamstress/ tailor and she was nothing but helpful, thorough and very fair priced. I recently moved to Laguna and can say that she will be my new tailor for any and all needs! She even sewed a button back on my pants in real time (for free!) the last time I was in. I can't recommend them enough! read more

Wendy is phenomenal. She does a fantastic job on both men's and women's clothing, and at very reasonable prices. She's our new go-to tailor. Highly recommend! read more

I had a very positive experience using Van Tailoring in Laguna Beach. The owner took the time to correct a hem on a wedding dress that had been done very poorly. She was extremely nice and took pride in doing an exceptional job. She also made other modifications to the dress for a perfect fit. read more

I took my favorite slip dress in, along with some luscious red fabric I'd acquired, and asked Wendy to make another one for me. In just about a week's time, I had a beautiful red version of my favorite dress. Wendy got every detail right, spending extra time fitting it to my curves when I returned to try it on and charged a very reasonable price. Now I'm summer-ready! read more

I am new in town and went to two tailors with favorable reviews to have the waist taken in on jeans. When I took another pair of jeans to Van Tailor for the same thing, what a difference! The workmanship was exquisite. The jeans were reversible so both sides had to be perfect and they were. The other high end tailor also shortened another pair incorrectly. Rather than return there to be redone, I brought them here. I am happy to know that I am in the right place! read more

Van is awesome!!!! Quick, dependable reasonable, and has an intuitive sense about how to fix an article of clothing...HIGHLY recommended!!! read more

great service. van is very knowledgeable about men's clothing and style variations around the world, but unlike some other tailors he doesn't try pushing is opinions on you. i had two made-to-measure-suits created for me that needed some slight adjustments upon arrival. sleeve shortening on both and just a bit of the width taken out of the back of another. both cam back perfectly. my wife also had some of those absurdly expensive jeans hemmed and she was very happy with the result. read more

Wow, Van is awesome!!! Have a black 100% wool jacket, the sleeves were too short, another tailor said there was nothing to be done, not Van the tailor!!! He is a master magician!!!! Thanks Van!!! read more

I have been using Van as my tailor for over 10 years. I have to tailor all my clothes. He does great work at a reasonable price and always helps me out when I need something done ASAP. Thanks Van! read more

I needed a few pairs of jeans and pants hemmed, so I Yelped local alterations services in my area. I came upon Van and decided to give him a try since he was literally 2 blocks from my house. (I try not to leave my bubble if I can help it! Lol!) He did such a great job on my pants that I decided to write my first Yelp review. He definitely knows what he's doing as he is an actual tailor that makes and designs custom suits and clothing (not someone who just does alterations). His prices are very fair and the turnaround is fast! He is very friendly and down to earth. I am recommending him to all my friends. read more

Wendy was amazing! I needed a quick turn around for my wedding dress and she got the job done. It fit perfectly!

Rude owner, bad hem. I had a pair of dress pants that needed a simple hem, and this shop was nearby, so I thought I'd give them a shot. What a mistake! Even though the chalk looked good when he measured the hem, it was probably an inch too short when I got them. The owner was also very rude. When I offered a credit card for my $12 tab, he started insisting, "I told you no credit card under $20!" He must have been confused about who he was taking to, because he had never said anything like it. With so many tailors around Laguna, I'll try somewhere else next time. read more

Van is the Man! Van has always done great work for over 15 years for me. One time I needed a dress altered everywhere for a charity event that night. Van did a perfect job... I had a gentleman approach me on the dance floor who said that his table took a vote, and I won the best dress of the night!!! Whether just hemming pants or creating a new dress, using an old dress as the pattern, Van does an outstanding job! Thank you Van! Nelson read more

Van's service is wonderful. He has hemmed many pants and skirts for me, and even copied a skirt I liked in another fabric. I would recommend him! read more

Love this guy fast, cheap and no ego!!! He did an amazing job!!

I first discovered Van when we moved to Laguna in 1989 and I've been a loyal customer ever since. Although he's on PCH, there is parking in the back as well so that problem's resolved. He always does stellar work and his prices are very reasonable. Because he keeps them low, he does prefer cash or checks to credit cards to avoid the fees. Although he's not a big conversationalist, Van is always nice to me and my family so I've recommended him to many friends and neighbors and they all seem to agree. read more
