Does MICKIE have tailoring skills? Yes she does. Does MICKIE have people skills? NO SHE DOES NOT! I have gone to VOGUE Tailoring for several years, mostly because her shop is close to home. I have put up with her arrogance and high prices for long enough. When a simple tailoring job was not ready after the two weeks she specified, she did not even apologize for the delay and instead told me it was prom season. Apparently prom season rush jobs bring in more money than a simple alteration. MICKIE will be more than happy to tell you how long she has been in business and how NO ONE has ever complained about her work. I guess she has never read the reviews on Yelp for her shop. Just be prepared for her attitude if you decide it's worth your time and money to put up with her attitude. For me, the answer is NO. There are other tailors in the area that are friendlier, do just as good a job and are less expensive. read more

Mickey is one of the most unprofessional people to work with. We have been going to her for over 20 years and the past two visits have been horrible, hurtful, and sad. I brought my grandmother's wedding dress in to go see if she could make alterations to it so I could wear it for my wedding. She told me that the dress was ugly and I shouldn't wear it and go get something new. She told me there was no possible way to make alterations on the dress to fit me, even though I took it to another dress maker who made it happen - easily! We were so sad and offended my her comment it left us in tears as we left. Today my mother in law went to go pick up my bridesmaids dress that was getting hemmed. My mother in law asked to pick up the dress and Mickey started yelling at her and telling her to look at all the dresses and all the things she has to do. My mother in law was extremely turned off by this attitude and explained that the wedding was tomorrow and showed her the ticket saying to come pick it up the day she was in. Mickey then charged us over $100 for the hem. I have never been charged so much to get something hemmed in my life. Mickey does good, clean work, but her unprofessionalism and rudeness will make me never come back to her for any tailoring. read more

Listed here there hours are open until 6 pm. When I dropped off my garment to be altered I did tell them that we were taking it to an out of town wedding so we would need it for that. When I went at 4 pm to pick my garment up they had temporary hours posted on the door saying they close at 3 pm on a week day!! Now I am having to go and purchase another suit jacket that won't fit properly to wear to a wedding. This is absolutely insane that the 3 pm closing time was not mentioned to me. Do better! I'm giving this a three star rating not because they did anything less than a good job, but because I feel like it was overpriced. In my book, a 3 Star review is passing, but nothing special. I went here on a week's notice before I was to wear a bridesmaid dress in a wedding. (My order was not a 'rush order.') My normal tailor in Laguna Niguel literally had a hand-written note saying they were closed for the next 3 days (there was a death in her family) and I went to Yelp to look for another shop that was close by. This shop had two 5 Star reviews. (At the time; Sept 2012) My dress was a cocktail-length strapless typical satin-ish bridesmaid style, and needed two darts taken in at the bust/armpit area, and the length taken up about 5 inches. Last, it was too balloonish, and needed material taken out from the skirted bottom half so that it didn't swoop out too much from my waist. Total was $76. I guess the neighboring Ritz Carlton has an influence on their prices. There certainly are people 'with money' in the area, but I sincerely think it's worth driving another 1-2 miles, literally, and saving a substantial amount. This owner has been in business many years and can afford to charge more--but it's an adjustment that a savvy shopper/yelper need not pay. Two other bridesmaids in the wedding I was in paid $45 and $52 at the two other shops they went to in Orange County for similar alterations. Also, as a side note, as I was leaving I asked for the prices for tailoring women's work slacks. I understand that places charge more for lined or unlined, but they said it depends on the width of the pant. In other words, shortening skinny jeans would cost less than bell bottoms. I have never heard of a tailoring charging for a pant hem based upon the width of the pant. This is a reflection of this shop's ability to really charge a premium for what other shops wouldn't charge extra for. I hope this review helps you. :) read more

Here is my story: My wedding was in three weeks. My original seamstress (NOT MICKEY FROM VOGUE) said my dress wasn't ready because she was at Disneyland. I thought it was weird, but she was recommended by a very fussy person, so I thought ok. I picked my dress up a week later, two weeks till my wedding. My dress was wrecked. I am not exaggerating. It no longer fit, it was stained with was later determined to be glue, there was snagged fabric. My boobs were smooshed. The seams were badly done, like a sixth grader in home ec for the first time did them by hand. I cried. A lot. I ordered a new dress from David's Bridal that I didn't like as much. I got a rec to take the old dress to Mickey at Vogue, I did, but I didn't think it would help. Mickey looked at my dress, told me it was wrecked and that she would work on it and it would be done in a few days. I thought that she would be able to do something with it so it was wearable. I was going to dye it and shorten it and just wear it as a really expensive dress to other people's weddings. However, Mickey was done in 1 day. Still skeptical, I ordered a second version of my Saja dress (which I was lucky to find they had in stock) and they fed-exed it to me. I figured I would just have Mickey do some tailoring on that, too, and I would eat the 800 dollars, return the David's Bridal order and maybe try to resell the new dress, used. I went to try the fixed dress on and....Mickey fixed it. Completely. She did something amazing and opened darts and added fabric from the hem to the shoulders and made it actually fit BETTER than when it was pristine. I don't know how. She also cleaned the stain (glue!) out by hand, got the snagged fabric non-snagged looking, and made the dress not only wearable, but wearable down the aisle! I wish I had known about her before I even went shopping, because I would have just had her make a dream dress for me. Mickey is amazing, amazing, amazing. I can't thank her enough. Mickey did an amazing job with my wedding dress! She is so meticulous with her work and really listens to her clients. At first, I was nervous bringing my wedding dress to a tailor that I had never been to, but after reading the reviews on Yelp, I decided that I would try Vogue Tailoring. I made an appointment for later that day and met with Mickey. As soon as she saw my dress on me, I knew that she would do an excellent job. She immediately saw that the dress had to be taken in in all the right places and she even suggested inserting an elastic around the bust so that it would fit the girls nice and snug. My dress was done in a week's time and I could not be happier! I know it is going to look amazing for my wedding. Since she did such a great job with my wedding dress, I decided to bring in another dress for her to work on. I just got that dress back last week and, yet again, she has done an amazing job with that dress, too! Mickie is simply the best that there is. She made me THREE custom bespoke dresses in 2.5weeks, earlier than she had said! (two are in the photos).She paid attention to every detail and went out of her way to make sure the dresses met my expectations. I bought the fabric and the buttons and brought it to her with a pattern from the 70s. This was no big deal for her. If you have something special that needs great tailoring then she is the one you need to go to. Yes, she can be expensive but it reflects in her work and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my clothes. Wife goes in June 15th to have a bridesmaid dress altered because she is pregnant. Woman (owner) tells her to come back July 15th as it was too early and she should get measured closer to the date. We leave for wedding in Philly on July 26th. Wife goes back July 15th and drops it off. Urgently specifying its for a wedding out of town and she needed back by the 25th latest because we leave on the 26th. Says it will be done on the 24th. We show up on the 25th to pick up and dress hasn't been been started on. Owner continues to go on and on that they have been so busy. No phone call. No apology nothing I tell the woman we need it today so she says they will stay late and it will be done in 2 hours. 3 hours later we get call saying to come in 1 hour. We show up at 7:45pm, ruined our Saturday night and now we are just sitting here because it still isn't ready. And the guy working on it is saying how much work it is to get done. THEYVE HAD IT FOR TWO WEEKS. WHY SHOULD WE FEEL FOR HIM? bottom line is I won't trust this place ever again. You've got to be able to Rely on your dry cleaner and tailor. You clearly can't rely on this place. No discount offered. No apologies. When we insisted for a discount she did not budge. Absolutely the worst customer service. Worst experience EVER. I'm pregnant and needed a bridesmaid dress taken out, as I had purchased it before knowing I was pregnant. I read a lot of Yelp reviews and settled on this place because it seemed to have decent ones. I first stopped in mid- June and the owner told me that due to my growing belly, I should come back on July 15. I reiterated several times that I needed the dress on July 24th as the wedding was across the country, and that that was a hard deadline. I was assured that it was a "huge job" because they had to basically remake the whole dress, but that this timing would be fine. Long story short, I came down with a bad virus and couldn't get out of bed on July 24th. I called and said I had a bridesmaid dress that was supposed to be picked up and that I would get it July 25th. When I arrived at Vogue around 2 PM on July 25th (the day after my dress was supposed to be picked up), I was told my dress was not done. Say what?! When I asked her to clarify, she told me that they were very behind and it had never been started!!!!! I asked why she hadn't called and she just continued to say that she was busy and does her best- no apologies offered whatsoever. I told her I was leaving for the airport Sunday am and that I needed the dress, so then I was told it would be done in 2 hours. She called me and told me to come back to the shop at 745 PM because it would be done then, but surprise surprise, I sat for over an hour waiting for them to finish it because "it is such a huge job" (I kept hearing them repeat that). When they finished the dress, they attempted to charge me full price. I politely asked for a discount for the inconvenience and the owner yelled at me that this was out of the question because it was "such a big job." I completely understand that part, but it was supposed to be done yesterday and they never even called to say they hadn't started it. If they had called, I would have gone somewhere else so as not to experience the stress. I have never been so disappointed in customer service in my life. EVER. Do not go here. read more

Do NOT go to this tailor. I am only 5' and have to have everything tailored. I have used many tailors over the past 35 years. They have absolutely the worse customer service I've ever worked with. They do not press any of your items (& have never offered for a fee even though last time I complained about this (how can you get an accurate fit??$ they said the would for a "fee" ... But never told me that few or actually offered to do it. I have never had a seamstress charge $30 for a straight dress hem with NO slip or layers AND not pressed AND not done correctly. I complained (after being over charged and just OK with 8 dresses prior to this) and she did NOTHING to help try to help understand my complaint or to work with me as a repeat customer. Horrible customer service, overcharges and isn't pleasant. read more

Had my suite fitted here. Micky knows her stuff. Bought a suit at Nordstrom which fit ok but after Micky fixed it, it looked like a custom tailored suit. Overpriced? Not if you're looking for great work. I've had alterations else where and its not even comparable. Micky is a professional tailor not an alteration person.
