I can not recommend van tailoring enough. I brought my wedding dress here that was 2-3 sizes too big. I was SWIMMING in it. They saw me right away and worked on it almost immediately. I was so worried that they weren't going to be able to bring it that much in but they did! It looked amazing and fit great. You wouldn't have even known I got it tailored. Thank you so much for fixing what I thought was impossible!! Definitely worth every penny. Will be back to bring in more clothes! read more

Exceptional quality and care. Needed to alter two dresses for a very important event and I was greeted with great care and attention. Wendy was superb. She had to completely reconstruct one of the dresses and did so with a smile on her face. She had me come back for a fitting before the final so that she could be sure it was done correctly. Thank you Wendy! You made this experience so wonderful for me. read more

I originally planned to have my wedding dress altered at the boutique where I purchased it, but after they tried to charge me 4x the price and even asked if I was pregnant, I knew I needed to look elsewhere. A friend recommended Van Tailoring, and they were truly my saving grace. From the moment I walked in, they were kind, professional, and made me feel instantly beautiful in my dress. I've never shared the details of my first experience with anyone, so their warmth and kindness were completely genuine -- and it meant so much. They went above and beyond on both items (my wedding gown and a second dress that needed lining) and their attention to detail was unmatched. On top of that, their pricing was incredibly fair, especially given the quality and turnaround time. They completed everything in just one week, with my wedding only two weeks away! Van Tailoring transformed what started as a stressful experience into something truly wonderful. I am beyond grateful for their kindness, skill, and professionalism, and I'll be bringing all my future alterations to them. I couldn't recommend them enough! read more

Wendy is an excellent tailor. I had an old classic dress reshaped to fit me. It took a month plus with fittings in between before the final and it turned out great! Highly recommend. They tend to be busy, so get in early so they can do the job for you in time for your special occasion. read more

I rarely write reviews, but Wendy absolutely deserves this one. I needed a very expensive, intricate formal dress altered--and fast. I had recently lost weight and had a black-tie wedding out of town coming up. The dress, by a London designer, was now far too big and incredibly complex in its design: a thick, structured fabric with a criss-cross bodice and off-the-shoulder detail. I live in Laguna Beach and was willing to drive anywhere to get it done right. After reading countless reviews--from seasoned wedding dress tailors to long-established shops--I came across Wendy. I had used Van Tailors for simpler hems and been happy, but I wasn't sure they could manage such a demanding project in under 2 weeks. So, I decided to bring her the dress and see what she thought. From the moment I tried it on, Wendy was warm, professional, and incredibly reassuring. She immediately gave me confidence that not only could she do it, but she could do it beautifully and on time. She pinned the dress with precision and offered smart ideas to ensure it would fit me like a glove. When I came in for my fitting, I was completely blown away. The dress fit perfectly--as if it had been custom-made for my new size. Wendy had clearly poured hours of care and craftsmanship into it. Her dedication, talent, and attention to detail blew me away! If you're looking for someone you can truly trust with your most treasured or delicate pieces, I can't recommend Wendy enough. She's an expert tailor who delivered exactly what she promised--only better. The results exceeded my expectations, and she's now my go-to for any future alterations. I'm beyond grateful for her incredible work! Thank you, Wendy--you're the best! read more

Wendy has been such a pleasure to work with and is a very sweet lady! She is upfront, cares about the details, and takes pride in her work. I appreciate her consideration to making sure that I am satisfied with the alterations. We originally agreed to find a fabric that could match the patterning, but when that couldn't be done she called me back and offered the next best method. Once she received my approval, she took a bit of fabric from my original dress and put it all together very seamlessly. I could not see where the alterations had occurred, fantastic! I'm very happy that the dress was able to be sized up so comfortably. read more

If you need an old school amazing Taylor, look no further. As a regular, I can tell you they do an amazing job, quick turnaround and a good price. I highly recommend!!! read more

Wendy tailored my wedding dress which was no easy feat!! I'm smaller on top than the bottom and the fabric was extremely thick. I also was working on a tight timeline ((which I wouldn't recommend for you or anyone and so Wendy gets to take her time!!)) she still managed to finish my dress to perfection, taking care of the smallest details at every fitting. Thank you Wendy! read more

My wife and I have been searching for an expert, high quality tailor and alterations shop in the area since we live in Laguna Beach and we're so happy to have found Wendy and her friendly staff so close to home! She is very meticulous and pays special attention to detail and proper fit, while not dismissing your desires and requirements of how you want the apparel to look on you. My wife purchases expensive designer business suits and dresses for work, and she is never concerned of the quality of tailoring Wendy provides. There is customer parking behind the store which isn't often common in downtown Laguna. read more

I can not recommend Wendy enough. I bought this hand made silk wedding dress, made to order, at a sample sale. It was too big in the straps and sides. Wendy tailored it better than I could have ever imagined. Given the type of dress this is, I know it was not an easy fix. Not only was it perfect, but she also did it fast. Wendy is so sweet and easy to work with. I'm spoiled and will be taking my clothes here from now on because what's better than a custom fit!!? Thank you!! read more

Wendy is amazing!! She is so sweet and is very good at what she does. I've come to Van Tailor a couple times now and she's provided wonderful service, quick turnaround times, and reasonable prices. She most recently tailored a very detailed shirt that a friend made for me. She helped cinch it in perfectly and tighten the straps while keeping the design as close to the original as possible. You will not be disappointed here, highly recommend :) read more

I miss the original owner of this store front. The new owner is nice but way over charges. I went to go pick up my items on the due date and they were not even ready. And it's been eight days. I am very disappointed and going to find another tailor that is less expensive and hopefully can complete what I over paid for on time read more

They're the best in town! Friendly and so accommodating for same day service. They've got a new loyal customer in me.

Deadline was missed and no call or text to communicate. Just said they were behind when I arrived on our set appt time and date for pick up. Important dress and milestone event but seamstress was rude and said other people did not care when she was late. Such a let down. Don't take your gowns here! read more

Wendy is amazing! She does a fantastic job and knows exactly how do things the right way. She even went above and beyond tailoring a dress to fit in an area that I didn't even ask her to fix but she knew it needed to be done. She has a quick turnaround as well. And I've never had a tailor iron or steam my clothing before pick up which was such a nice bonus! Highly recommend her. read more

After moving from NY 4 years ago and having an amazing tailor there, i had initially struggled to find someone that could be as detailed oriented and meticulous as i was accustomed to.....until i met Wendy. She has always been honest and direct with me as well as 100 percent of the time delivering exceptional final products in a reasonable timeframe. Her pricing is appropriate and the level of care she gives each item no matter how simple or complex is wonderful. She takes pride in her work and always remembers me by name. I've taken 3 suits here before and they do an amazing job. I lost a lot of weight since I had bought my first suit, so they were able to shrink it 2 sizes down, as well as taper/slim it.
