This place has a great modern feel to it as well as tons of seating indoors and outdoors overlooking the stage area next door. The menu has tons of good options and I recommend getting one they already tested and built than building your own item. I got the strawberry cheesecake shaved ice and it was so good. The strawberries were incredible fresh and sweet to go with this delicate shaved ice. I also tried the peach cobbler which tasted just like a peach cobbler. I must of inhaled it because it was so good. After ordering the food came out pretty quick probably 5-8 minutes max and had me going back for seconds rather quickly. We love eating ice cream here because it's basically shaved ice making it a light snack. The flavors are good. And my initial review would have been 5 stars. However the last few times we've been here, they have been very stingy with the toppings which is unfortunate. You can see the first photos I posted (on the plate) was our first time here. And the photo of the one in to go cup. You can clearly tell the difference. So for this reason I'm giving 3 stars. I don't feel like the shaved ice is good without toppings to go with every bite. This is just ridiculous! I had in my head that it would be more like a fine snowcone kind of consistency, but it's not! It is definitely smoother than ice and far more flavorful, but it sort of melts in your mouth, It's very creamy like ice cream. When you get it on your spoon, it feels like you're cutting into a piece of cake and it's pretty like a cake as well. I got the piña colada, but since I don't like mango, I asked for them to switch it for strawberry boba and it is so delicious. My son got the Mounds which has the coconut ice like mine, but instead of pineapple has a chocolate snow and it is so much like ice cream, it sort of tricks you. My husband got the pineapple whip that only had pineapple like I had in my piña colada, and he is thoroughly enjoying it. It is a great choice when you really want ice cream, but not hungry enough. What a unique dessert experience! Vampire Penguin sells "shaved snow", which is not like the old school sno cones that are just iced with artificial syrup. This shaved snow is soft, light, and fluffy, more like freshly fallen snow and they top it with all kinds of delicious extras! We came with a big group - several adults and several kids. We tried a bunch of different flavors including banana pudding, s'mores, and a coffee/chocolate one called "do the mocha"but the best was the peanut butter cup!! It was peanut butter flavored snow topped with chocolate and peanut butter with chunks of peanut butter cups and ohhh my goodness it was delightful! SO close to getting 5 stars, -great finely shaved ice, lots of different flavors, comes out looking gorgeous. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is I was looking at dairy-free ice cream shops in the area, Vampire Penguin came up but I was told by the worker there's only 1-3 base flavors that are completely dairy free and I believe they also stated only a few flavors are lactose free. It was not clear on the menu which shaved ice flavors had milk but no lactose or which ones were completely dairy/dairy-free. The cashier who helped us out was really nice and patient when I was trying to figure out which flavors I could get. He was more patient than the people I was with lol! If I could give the workers there a higher rating I would, it was just the menu that was a bit confusing to read. The area the shop is at is a quaint outdoor shopping area while the shop itself has a nice view of the outside. I was told it is a new shopping district, but reminds me of some of the older small town brick shopping areas just more roomy and open. 1000% would eat here again, hopefully they'll expand to Chicago in the near future! read more

There was one person working on a laptop, which I thought was strange as I would not want to get melted snow ice on my computer. But hey, the wifi was strong so to each their own. The interior is new and modern and part of a new town center being built. The outside patio has an amazing view, overlooking the amphitheater. The menu is straight forward and includes build your own options and pre-calibrated concoctions, which they call "specials". There are 2 sizes, both of which are sharing. I believe the larger one is twice the size of the smaller one, but for only a few dollars more. We got the small size to share and went with the Tuxedo, which is one of the specials. It was a goof blend of chocolate and fruit as it had strawberries, and the almonds gave it a nice crunchy texture. It came out quickly and the snow ice was good quality. read more

My boyfriend describes these desserts as a mind f@ck. After reading reviews and still not really knowing what to expect, we gave it a shot. The consistency is like moon sand. The ice is so fluffy, yet keeps it's shape when you dig in.
