Vampire Penguin is so yummy! We'd been looking for a spot that had shaved ice since getting back from Hawaii where we discovered it. This was probably the closest thing that we could probably get to what we had there! It was delicious and the consistency is actually like snow! So soft ! Located in Cumming City Center behind the fountain. Can't wait to go back

Came to this place as a cute little spot after a date. The outside had a lovely fountain that leads you indoors. This place has a great modern feel to it as well as tons of seating indoors and outdoors overlooking the stage area next door. The menu has tons of good options and I recommend getting one they already tested and built than building your own item. I got the strawberry cheesecake shaved ice and it was so good. The strawberries were incredible fresh and sweet to go with this delicate shaved ice. I also tried the peach cobbler which tasted just like a peach cobbler. I must of inhaled it because it was so good. After ordering the food came out pretty quick probably 5-8 minutes max and had me going back for seconds rather quickly. I would 100 % suggest you give this place a shot you won't regret it.
We love eating ice cream here because it's basically shaved ice making it a light snack. The flavors are good. And my initial review would have been 5 stars. However the last few times we've been here, they have been very stingy with the toppings which is unfortunate. You can see the first photos I posted (on the plate) was our first time here. And the photo of the one in to go cup. You can clearly tell the difference. So for this reason I'm giving 3 stars. I don't feel like the shaved ice is good without toppings to go with every bite. I've also held off an reducing stars but this my 3rd time with them doing this :(
This is just ridiculous! I had in my head that it would be more like a fine snowcone kind of consistency, but it's not! It is definitely smoother than ice and far more flavorful, but it sort of melts in your mouth, It's very creamy like ice cream. When you get it on your spoon, it feels like you're cutting into a piece of cake and it's pretty like a cake as well. I got the piña colada, but since I don't like mango, I asked for them to switch it for strawberry boba and it is so delicious. My son got the Mounds which has the coconut ice like mine, but instead of pineapple has a chocolate snow and it is so much like ice cream, it sort of tricks you. My husband got the pineapple whip that only had pineapple like I had in my piña colada, and he is thoroughly enjoying it. It is a great choice when you really want ice cream, but not hungry enough. The young lady at the register was very helpful and seating is great inside or out if you want to see the concerts that they have in the amphitheater

We tried a bunch of different flavors including banana pudding, s'mores, and a coffee/chocolate one called "do the mocha"but the best was the peanut butter cup!! It was peanut butter flavored snow topped with chocolate and peanut butter with chunks of peanut butter cups and ohhh my goodness it was delightful! The service was great, and an extremely helpful and patient employee guided us through our selection. Definitely give this place a try! I've never had anything like it before!

Our third time here today. Definitely a different type of shaved ice I'm used to! But it's delicious. I love that it doesn't feel heavy like regular ice cream. You can build your own and they have tons of flavors and toppings to choose from. It's located right at cumming city center. It's the best place to come after you've had dinner. I swear you can't be too full for dessert when you come here because it's not heavy on your stomach. My favorite flavor is the almond joy mound! But my wife always gets the tarp with condensed milk and strawberries.

What's on it: * sweet potato shaved ice * graham cracker crumbs * caramel & marshmallow sauce * marshmallows & whipped cream absolutely insane & delicious!! So unique and not like your typical snow cone. The service is fast and friendly, clean inside and out, and they even have a really cool putt-putt course! They also have dirty sodas and dozens of shaved ice combos. Can't wait to go back. read more
We were in the area to run some errands and the cute logo is what immediately caught my eye! Tons of cute signs outside, got me curious to enter inside, and I sure am glad I did! The ambiance and aesthetic was that of a gothic vampire style but still cute for pics! They had tons and tons of different options but essentially what you pick gets you a yummy dessert! We got the chocolate cosmic brownie and it did not take long for it to arrive! The presentation was so beautiful and it truly looked like a cosmic brownie! But oh! The taste was delicious! It was so soft and the chocolate on top really added to the experience. We loved it here and we will definitely be back to try some other flavors ! read more

Wow never tried shaved ice like this before! Not your typical shaved ice though. Had the strawberry cheesecake flavor and it was fantastic. Staff was also very friendly and quick to bring out our order. Really recommend anyone in the north GA area to give this place a try read more

Sooooo I have a new ice cream place for the summer and I am so excited ( in my vampire penguin voice). The young lady at the counter was able to help me pick out some really great flavors because there are so many great ones to choose from. Get the flight - that way you can try three. You can sit on the patio and the views of the golf course are top notch definitely a place to take lots of cute pics. The best thing about this delicious ice cream (notice I am calling it ice cream because it is a form of ice cream but low calorie and lactose free on most flavors ) it is amazing - matter of fact it's out of this world ! I want to rename it to alien penguin lol ! They even have a children's book explaining the story of how it is made - use your imagination as an adult and let's go with it ! SO close to getting 5 stars, -great finely shaved ice, lots of different flavors, comes out looking gorgeous. The only reason I couldn't give it 5 stars is I was looking at dairy-free ice cream shops in the area, Vampire Penguin came up but I was told by the worker there's only 1-3 base flavors that are completely dairy free and I believe they also stated only a few flavors are lactose free. It was not clear on the menu which shaved ice flavors had milk but no lactose or which ones were completely dairy/dairy-free. The cashier who helped us out was really nice and patient when I was trying to figure out which flavors I could get. He was more patient than the people I was with lol! If I could give the workers there a higher rating I would, it was just the menu that was a bit confusing to read. The area the shop is at is a quaint outdoor shopping area while the shop itself has a nice view of the outside. I was told it is a new shopping district, but reminds me of some of the older small town brick shopping areas just more roomy and open. 1000% would eat here again, hopefully they'll expand to Chicago in the near future! read more

I am an extremely picky eater but I absolutely love this place. My husband and I have been here about 3-4 times in a single week just recently. I am obsessed with their chocolate covered strawberry snow and their banana pudding snow. I have flavors I love more than others, but Ive not once disliked any. Hell I even loved their blueberry cobbler flavor! Service is great as always, the workers are younger but very sweet and so appreciative of your patience- always have smiling faces. Love the decor, marketing and overall vibe of this whole place. If Vampire Penguin was closer to us, we'd be here so much everyone would know us by name! read more

The name was catchy and drew us in to see what it was... adorable logo and loved the variety of menu... it's not your typical snow cone or ice cream but it was great for us! We don't like overly heavy or sweet desserts and this hit that sweet spot right in between. The fluffiness of the ice and the flavor of the toppings was a great end to our day while sitting on their patio overlooking the amphitheater! read more

We stopped in here after eating dinner, and it was so so. My son hated his blueberry ice, so that was a bummer... I had the tiramisu, which was pretty good, but I'm not sure that I would get it again. It's a fun idea, but it's expensive and the wait was long. The shop itself seems super empty and that they need some more decor inside. read more

Went there today with my wife walking around the new city center. I really didn't have high hopes for this place. I thought it was just going to be another shaved ice spot but boy was I wrong. This place is awesome tons of different flavors and the shaved ice itself is like none I've ever had awesome texture and great taste. I will definitely be back. read more

We ordered three flavors from the menu. There was a 30min wait. This place is busy. Busy means the snowy dream dessert is worth the wait. We got coconut cream pie. Awesome! Smoreos, awesome! Lava Cake Oreo. Awesome!! Pictured. Atmosphere is sterile. Perhaps more decor would be nice. Some vampire camp and merch. Place is clean, staff is super friendly! The have a balcony seating area that overlooks the amphitheater. We will be back! read more

My boyfriend describes these desserts as a mind f@ck. After reading reviews and still not really knowing what to expect, we gave it a shot. The consistency is like moon sand. The ice is so fluffy, yet keeps it's shape when you dig in. The flavors aren't too overpowering and it is a fantastic treat that doesn't make you feel like you've over eaten and need to not move for an hour. Great service, helpful staff. The patio is a great place for people watching and enjoying the weather. We will definitely be back to try some different flavors. read more
