I had been using a different service on 1626 near the Spoon & Fork restaurant, but recently they seem to focusing on upselling items and twice I visited by then had to leave because I didn't want to wait while there were selling wipers, air filters, cabin filters, etc. I really liked the experience here at Valvoline Express Care on FM 2770 (near the Valero gas station on Jack C. I've been going to this place for over three years for all my oil changes. It's the least expensive place around and I come from San Marcos to get it done. Service has always been excellent and I never had to wait very long. I understand it's under new management and the two young kids (ok, maybe they were in their 20's; I can't tell anymore) who worked on my car were very polite and did a thorough job. They checked all my filters and I got my cabin filter replaced. I would totally recommend this place and I have every intention of returning for future oil changes. read more

They make up their own hours to begin with because the day before I got there at 5 with one car in line and they said they were closed. Get there today and 5 minutes after oil change my filter is leaking all over driveway. They won't answer the phone either so I'm headed to go get my own oil filter and oil to change on my own. DO NOT GO HERE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!! As a female, I went there around 4pm on a Friday afternoon for a routine oil change. Everyone was super nice and I had a great experience. I filled out your typical form with my name, address, phone number, and car information to but put in their system. Around 7pm that night, I received a text message aaking me how I am and that it was the service man that did my oil change. He asked me if I was single and that I was hot. I immediately blocked his number and had to file a police report for harassment. This man got my number from the company to harass me via text messages. I am incredibly shaken up. read more

Been customer for several years BUT NO MORR. Came in to leave my car, got quite fir $53. Left my car. Neighbor brought me back to get my car and leave her car. SAL-SO CALLED MANAGER, said my bill is $68. When I asked why the price difference- he literally said - "" would you like me to drain a quart of oil out to make it $53". I said - are you serious? I've tried to give this place a chance but every time I go I get a different story on why they can't do what I need. Today was my last attempt when I went for an inspection. I fully expected to wait as I went after work and know they close at 5:30. When I got there and asked for an inspection, the guy said they stop doing them at 5. It was still before 5 so I was ready to hand him the keys when he said that they stopped at 4:10 today. I recently visited on jan 19th *INV8324* a customer of this establishment for many years since it opened i went to have the oil on one of our cars changed and a state inspection performed . after the service was performed and i was presented with a bill . i gave the clerk a token *issued by them and punched for each oil change ,, when 5 are punched a *free oil service * is performed, bonus for regular customers the store employee informed me the store no longer honored the token as it was *under new management *. i asked why was i not informed of this BEFORE THE SERVICE WAS PERFORMED and i didnt see any visable signs ..name change exc as to new owner , the staff was mostly the same as ive always seen there . i asked dont you think you should honor previous discounts as they were earned by regular customers like me and i had no knowledge as to the chance in terms if here is a NEW OWNER he bought the goodwill with the store with includes regular customers this is a way to lose them the token has no experation date no was the reply what a way to treat loyal customers not only has the token been discontinued but the price has been increased and the windsheid sticker $ of next time has been reduced from $3 to $2 . I get all of my oil changes and inspections done here with no complaints. All of the employees I've talked to have all been really nice. They don't throw random charges at you and if they suggest any extras or upgrades, they're not pushy about it. As to their professionalism and friendliness, I once had one of the employees offer to air up my tires after seeing my frustration that someone had parked in front of the air pump at the gas station. I have been a customer of this Kyle Express Care for over 6 years, but I am afraid that just ended today. My wife went in to get a simple inspection. When she pulled up, she informed the gentleman that she would like to get an inspection. He replied "You need to come back in an hour" to which she replied "Can I wait or can you tell me what the wait would be?" The guy replied "You have to come back in an hour, I am the only one here doing these and I need a break" in a rude manner. Unacceptable way to address a customer whether it is your first visit or your 500th visit. I called the store to address the issue with a manager so that they might be able to address the employee so it doesn't happen again to anyone else. After being asked why I wanted to speak with the manager by another rude employee, the "manager" finally got on the phone. When I shared with him wife's experience, he replied "Well I am sure you can understand everyone needs breaks." Are you kidding me? Yes, of course I understand that people need breaks...that's not the issue. The issue is your poor customer service. If you don't get that then A) you should be "managing" anything B) you won't have a place to be a "manager" at because it will go out of business. Needless to say that I will be sending my three vehicles here anymore...plenty of really good choices in the area. It's really a shame because this place was great. I have taken my vehicles to Kyle Express Care for years, and they always do a great job. Regular customers get coupons in the mail and they have frequent rebate specials throughout the year. I go there for regular oil changes and yearly inspections and the guys are always friendly and quick, only recommend truly needed extras, and never make me feel uncomfortable as a female. I have encountered a few jerky customers in there at times (that's what happens in service and retail!), and I have never seen one of there guys raise their voices or be anything but polite in response, even to a truly difficult customer. My money is hard earned and I value customer service. That's why this shop is the only place for my vehicles' oil changes. Nice plus is their waiting room is clean and they have coffee. read more

Just lost a long time customer thanks to Robert, the gentleman who didn't help me. Wanted to drop my car to have it inspected. Robert told me he didn't want me to leave, that I needed to wait for the car. The wait was 15 to a half hour before my car was up. I needed to go back home (a few blocks away) and continue working. Asked if they could call me when it was done and I could be there in less than 5 mins. I was told no. They were too busy to call me that I just had to wait. So I left and I'll never return. This place was packed when I came to get my annual state inspection, but that didn't stop them from having me in and out in about ten minutes. The man who checked my car was very friendly. Given the number of people packed into their waiting area, it might be better to have some more seating. But overall, the experience was a good one. read more

Living in Kyle has it's advantages and the Valvoline Express Care Center is great for a couple of reasons. First is state inspection, ya, my 93 Jeep finally failed after 16 years. It was the high pressure power steering hose. I bought the part and let Christian Brothers replace the leaky hose. (Could have done it myself but did not have the time or line wrench needed.) I went back to them finish the inspection and it passed. These people are good, I noticed several of the same people every year at inspection. If you need your oil change they do carry several types of oil for your needs. I just change my own, it cheap and fast from me. What they do not do is change hoses, like the power steering. But within their scope of work I would take my vehicles back for the fuel injection cleaning. And be ready, their waiting room is not like Christian Brothers, it feels and looks much like an automotive repair shop. read more

I am very disappointed in the lack of customer service at this location. As a former chair of Kyle's Economic Development Committee and current member of the Kyle Area Chamber of Commerce, I have always promoted local business whenever possible. We have been long-term customers of this establishment for oil changes and inspections since they opened in Kyle. Today, the manager, Sal, had the opportunity to maintain a long-standing customer but his response was "oh well!" After more than two hours of waiting for a vehicle inspection, and being told our name was on the list, it was not. This could have been very easily remedied, but Sal chose not to do so.
