Very dirty wash bays.....I only go for the wash and rinse that I do on my own, trash overflowing, vacuums not working.... don't use the soap brushes, very dirty, will scratch your car.... My usual detail place was closed so I decided to a DYI job and stopped here - obviously great prices, and was really here for the vacuum. Did the $12 wash and when I got out to do my vacuum, I realized they did a shit job and my car was still filthy but thought to myself "eh well, $12 what did I expect?" - however, while I was vacuuming, a fellow circled my car a few times and finally said "wow, they did a terrible job" and then preceded to have me drive through again and assister with the wash himself as well as a coupon for another time wash. I really should have checked out yelp before going through this wash. I added pictures because when I got home and looked at my car, I was really blown away by all the dirt that was still on the bottom half of my car. Called the number on my receipt, was offered to go back through with receipt between 9am-6pm. I work an hour away from Kyle, so not really feasible. I also called back stating I lost my receipt since the day i used it to call the number on it with my concern. Never got a call back. Just go to WaterWorks right beside this place. read more

Update: I went back the other day to check to see if there were any improvements. Nope. It's just as bad as it was, but I witnessed something that I needed to pass on to others. The attendants (who pre wash your car while you're going through the automatic car wash) were spraying a specific type of wheel cleaner on everybody's wheels AND ALL OVER THE CARS! First of all, this particular wheel cleaner can only be used on rims of a certain type. If you use it on any other rims, it will eat away the coating on your rims and eventually ruin your rims. The warning is written right there on the back of the spray bottle. They warn you on the label about this because the cleaner has caustic ingredients and eventually will cause serious damage. Most people do not have the type of rims that this product is used for, therefore virtually everybody who goes through that automatic car wash is getting product sprayed on their rims AND their cars that can and will cause damage! When I say that they are spraying it on the cars as well, I am not talking about a little bit of overspray while they're spraying the wheels. They are actually taking it and walking around the entire car and spraying the car itself with this product! This business is just one step away from a huge lawsuit from the first person who connects the dots and realizes why their rims and possibly their car is messed up. Please be warned if you really care about your vehicle. You can go on the internet and Google search why automatic car washes are bad for your car in the first place, but when these guys are also spraying this stuff on your rims and car, that should be enough reason to avoid this automatic car wash entirely. Again, I am speaking from experience because my family had a car wash for years and I am still in the detailing business. I am not trying to solicit any customers for myself. Stay Away from this spot!! I've been going to this car wash for almost 3 years. Up until this week I've had nothing but good things to say. This week I went by to find a new crew working. Not a big deal, until you pull up when it's your turn to find out that they've changed things with no signs to warn you. The car wash has always been $8 and the old team would brush your tires and do a few other things as part of a "pre-wash". It was awesome and I tipped each time. This time these new guys told me that from now on anything besides the basic automatic car wash was going to be extra and the pre-wash part would only be accepted in cash (not how they used to do things). I had my credit card and only a couple bucks in cash at which point they started laughing at me and talking smack in Spanish about how they should just wash my car with water no soap. My first language is Spanish. Not cool. After some back and forth between them, they decided that they would let me pay the old amount with credit card this one time. They "run my card" only to tell me it doesn't work. They said I needed to go get cash and come back. It's a brand new card. I had just used it 20 minutes prior. I argued those points to him and he just kept saying I need to get cash and come back. I told him to just please just wash it and I'll get cash after. He agreed. While driving to get cash I called my bank. Turns out HE DIDN'T EVEN TRY TO RUN MY CARD! He was trying to get it all in cash. Unreal. Of course, I went back and paid the amount they charged. I hope the owner of that car wash knows what's happening at his place of business. it's unacceptable and they're losing this customer. Early a.m. Stopped In for a quick automatic wash. Once done I stepped out it dry off and even in the dark I could see it didn't even get the dirt off! So disappointed. As my quick tip states, they do have 2 shampoo vac's & that alone is beyond awesome because my dog likes to shed his hair in my car & the vac does a great job at sucking up most of that. Their bays are big & well maintained. For those who are lazy & don't feel like physically washing their car, Patriot does have an auto-wash. I got out and definitely had to dry it myself because you do not get enough time or the blowers are not powerful enough. I paid $8 for a wash which was worthless. Then I had to pay for vacuum which cost me about about $4. I did the vacuum myself so that was a good job at least. The car was still dirty so I drove around and ask the workers about it. He said I should have paid another $5 for him to brush it before I went through the car wash. I told him that he should have told me in the first place. He was nice enough to wash the car with the brush and let me go through the wash again for free ( I gave him a tip) but I don't know if I would come here again and have to pay $13 for a wash - that isn't even up to par. So disappointed! Patriot used to do a great job: the attendants took time to do a thorough pre-wash and the drive through finished with a full wash. It was nice to see the soap cut through all the gunk. Even though the price was increased 25%, I decided to use Patriot again yesterday. The attendants spent all of 3 minutes barely going over my car and then directed me into the drive through. NO soap: none, nary a bubble, only clear water during the "wash" cycle which, as it turns out, did nothing. When finished, I stopped my van to see how well it had been cleaned, which became a moot point because it wasn't clean. Bugs were all over the windshield and hood/front, and bird poop was in several places on the body. I washed all this off myself when I got home since this "car wash" did nothing. Total waste of time. New to the area and looking for a place that does interior and exterior. Of course no signage to tell me so I waste time in line only to find I will have to do interior myself. Was then told I could use my card for the $8 wash but had to pay $5 CASH ONLY for him and another guy to scrub my car in advance. Turns out that meant the auto car wash doesn't clean worth jack. 75 cents (only quarters but machine doesn't tell you that either) will give you about 3 minutes for vacuuming. Hey, I get that you're not full service, but you need to answer a phone or put up a website telling people what they can and cannot expect. This place is bare bones, machines either don't work or are subpar and you have to pony up cash to get anything. Sketchy. I see previous reviews were positive. Found this place since it's right by my work. They have a self serve car wash, but also a touch-free drive through car wash. They'll also brush your car before you go in through it with brushes, expecting a small tip of $1 or $2, but even if you have no cash they'll still do it. The wash itself is pretty cheap too, just $8. read more

I use to go to the new car wash down the road pretty regularly but the last few times my car came out with soap still on it and they did a half assed job drying it so I decided to give Patriot a try.... It was wonderful! They hand wash your car first making sure all of the dirt and nasty stuff is off of it and then you go through a laser wash for finishing touches. When I looked at my receipt afterwords I expected it to be at least $15 dollars but I was blown away that they did all of that for only $8!!! I will definitely be going back quit often! read more

My car always comes out super clean for a cheap price when I bring it in extremely dirty. BUNCH OF FOOLS LOST MY BUSINESS FOREVER. I brought a bucket and my own brush. I *BOUGHT* 30+ seconds of "their" water to partially fill my bucket, maybe 2 gallons of water, so I could loosen up some dirt on our car in preparation to run through one of the manual wash stalls. Mind you, I had *ALREADY* paid to wash my truck in the same stall, and used time off that paid for wash to fill the bucket. This idiot woman sees me loosening the dirt from my car and starts walking toward me with a grimmace on her face. I had to assume she worked there, as she had on a blue shirt with the company logo on it, yet NOT ONCE did she identify herself as an employee. She tells me, "You cannot have the bucket here." Really? Where is THAT sign posted? She then attempts to dump my bucket of PAID FOR water out. I grabbed it before she could get to it. I continued to loosen dirt on my car. The IDIOT then proceeds to call the police on me.... for PAYING for $5 worth of manual stall time. Your idiot employee then FLIPS ME OFF while talking to the police to file a FALSE REPORT that I have somehow wronged them or caused harm to their business. I ended up having to REWASH BOTH of my vehicles when I got home. Avoid these scumbags at all cost. They are NOT worth your time or money. read more

I WAS a patron of this car wash for my three cars and one truck up until today. I own a dually truck with a crew cab and used this car wash exclusively for the truck because they advertised that they wash duallys. Today I was informed by one of the attendants that they would no longer wash my truck, that my truck was too dirty for him to wash it, and that I could go next door and brush it down before I brought it back there again. He sad he was doing this at the owners direction. Now, the truck only had road grime on it from driving it in the rain and was not muddy at all. I in fact, went next door before I took it to them and sprayed it down because it had dust accumulated in the wheels and bed, but I don't guess this was good enough. Apparently, the personnel there are too lazy to brush down a large vehicle. Pity,...for I consistently tipped the two guys at least $3 a piece because I realize it was a large truck. This is the same crew mentioned in the other ads, maybe a "big ol' truck" is to much for them to handle. If you are not going to wash a dually, then don't say so in your ads. I won't be back, I've already found another Patriot Car wash in San Marcos (different owner) who will wash my truck no matter how dirty it is. So far this place has done a great wash with my car. They take they're time brushing off dirt from my vehicle before running it through the wash. I just drove up with my pickup and had a gentleman lead me to the carwash so that he can pressure wash it first. Then direct me to the machine to get it washed but not before he gave it a better scrub. My truck was covered in mud. Not a problem. They are polite and attentive and not afraid to get wet and work. The price is alot less then Water Works car wash. Personally I would rate it a 5 star in service and cleanliness of my vehicle, but rated it a 4 star ONLY because it has one drive through and the drive through area is tight and you can sometimes wait a while due to it. But other then that.. It is all good. I'd rather wait since I know that the delay is due to the customer service they are giving us to make sure our vehicles are getting washed as good as possible. I'd recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a car wash. I'm happy so far. read more

I enjoy mudding in my Jeep and, as you can guess, my vehicle is often extremely muddy. My work is in a professional setting though so there are times I need my car to be clean. I've been to multiple different car washes and have always preferred the big detail / hand wash companies because of the quality of cleanliness (even though it really hurts my wallet). Today, while out in Kyle, I was desperate to get a good wash because I had to pick up someone from corporate and was dismayed to find out that the only car wash place even close was Patriots (online and in person it doesn't look like much at all). Do not let looks deceive you! I first went to the back to vacuum and shampoo my car. I was having trouble figuring out how to operate the shampoo device and my time was being wasted so I approached an employee about the problem. Not only did he come over to explain how everything worked but he reimbursed my money and gave me twice as much time as I had told him I paid for. Honestly I was a little flustered when I first approached him about losing my money and he made me feel silly for being so short with him by how courteous he was to me. The excellent service didn't stop there! When I usually go places to wash my Jeep the staff will give me annoyed looks and talk amongst themselves (undoubtably because of how dirty my car is). The one single employee at the car wash was doing quick scrubs of the vehicles before they ran through the wash so as to ensure that they were clean. When I pulled up, instead of getting a nasty look, the gentleman asked me to pull over into one of the side stalls where people self wash their vehicles. He then spent the following 20 minutes scrubbing every last inch of my vehicle until it was almost perfectly clean and didn't even need the car wash. When he had finished, he had me pull around and run my vehicle through the car wash. When I asked the gentleman how much I owed him he said the $8 price of a normal car wash was all I owed. The quality of my car wash was easily worth $30 plus. The gentleman's name who gave me such great service was José. I handed him a $20 bill before I left and insured him that I will definitely be coming back in the future. Such excellent service is really rare! I usually have no issues using this facility, but this afternoon 12/30/15, I deposited 8 quarters to vacuum, but it the machine was not sucking up anything, just making noise. I proceeded to move the car and to wash while I found an attendant, I told him about the issue and I thought he was coming back to give me a refund, but he never returned, then went looking for him again, I couldn't find him.
