30$ for a used champion jacket

Terrible prices, used to be affordable now it's $20 for a basic hoodie?? The prices here are insane, the manager must be smoking some good stuff!!! They do have a good loss prevention staff, but aside from that it's ridiculous how unaffordable this "thrift" store is. Better off going elsewhere.

This is customer service in reverse. The Value Village website states that their mission is to "positively impact customers, donors, your community and the environment." Core Values state that they are supposed to: "- Act with ethics and integrity - Put donors and customers first" This is my experience with the employees, at Value Village on Sleater Kinney, who degrade the core values listed on the website. The first employee: I went into Value Village with a friend, and we were excited about our finds. We found what we were looking for and started to collect them to take to the front of the store. I saw an employee go into the back work area. As we were trying to get our cumbersome purchases from the back to the front of the store. The same person I had seen go into the back work area returned, walking past me as I struggled with the chair. I said "Can you help me?" and he kept on walking. Enter employee two: My friend and I managed to get to the jewelry counter hoping that we could get some help ringing up our finds. The employee in that section had an hostile, insolent manner and ignored us until, when asked for help, twice, she pointed and told us to go to self-checkout. She continued to lean against the wall. I then asked if we could get help to the self-checkout because we had already carried our burdens from the back to the front. This employee then stated, belligerently, that, next time, we should leave our big items in the back where someone would help us bring them up as she grudgingly carried one of the items. The employee from the jewelry section then told one of the employees standing around giggling and chatting with another two employees in the self-checkout area to help ring up my purchases. Enter Third Employee: When we asked the cashier if we could get help getting the items out to the vehicle we were dismissed by being told that we could move our vehicle up to the door and load our items one by one. (So much for help from the back, again). Then, the cashier left us so she could continue the previous unprofessional interactions with fellow employees. The employees grouped together watched with obvious amusement. As I left, I told the employees in front of the store that if they did not want to do their job they should let someone else have it, and I was met with "have a good day" and hateful laughter and contempt. Do not shop here. Do not donate here. The employees do not want your business. I have now looked on Yelp and found that this is the general consensus of recent reviews. Is management going to do something about this?

The Eagles #21 has history dating 100 years- through the beginning of the club's early founding, it's heyday in the 40's and 50's, and through it's slight decline in the 80's and 90's. Since then it has gone through numerous improvements to make it one of the best spots for entertainment and leisure. Decades of live events throughout the 4-level building have brought many different people together from all over the Oly area, and the world. Upstairs is the huge Eagles Grand Ballroom that is used for weekly dances and planned events such as weddings, proms, and recitals. There are performance art classes also available for anyone wanting to learn a type of dance, or drum. In the bottom level of the building is the E-mart. The Eagles houses a thrift store full to the brim of second-hand goods. From designer labeled clothing, to electronics, old VHS and DVDs, furniture, and from dishes and housewares to books and toys. Of course, the ground level is the member's lounge. Boasting the only bar in downtown Olympia to have the NFL ticket, the clubhouse can get any NFL game on it's six flat-screen TVs and projector. The Eagles is also home to the official Brown's Backers football club who meet for every Cleveland Brown game. And the best spot to watch all your Sounders, Mariners, and Seahawks games. Not a football fan? All throughout the week there are daily drink specials (cheapest in town), live music, karaoke, free pool and foosball, pull tabs, a stage and a dance floor and a jukebox, video games, potlucks, and great people enjoying the company at the bar. It is a member's only club, however. Joining is simple. There are yearly dues to being a member, and of course abiding by club rules and aerie bylaws. But they are always accepting more members to join and be a part of a great community of fundraisers who love to party!

Blue appears to be the product of someone sifting through donations and determining these items can sell retail. Ceramic mugs at $12.99? This is Goodwill and if someone gave you that for free, why are you charging $13 for an item that would be a max of $3 at a reputable thrift shop and truth be told, most thrift shops sell mugs for $.99. I saw a few things here I liked, but when I saw the pricing, I just laughed, I wouldn't pay their asking price if the same items were new. I was also offended while attempting to shop here. I was the only one in the store and the woman was doing something in the corner. As I starting browsing near the entrance, I felt crowded and when I looked up, the woman working there, had apparently decided to spruce up the area I was looking at. It was a poorly timed and placed attempt to discourage shoplifting, but I am a mature, educated man with more than enough money and if I had to guess, I donate thousands of dollar's worth of merchandise to Goodwill annually and are a little peeved then they don't provide coupons or vouchers for large donations. Actually, in the last year, I started donating to a place in Bellevue, they give either 10% or 15% off your bill when you donate and even though, I don't always find anything to purchase, at least I know my donation is appreciated. This woman made me so uncomfortable following me around, I left. It was a nasty atmosphere and not typical of the once Hippy Vegan vibe I would get visiting Olympia. Shame on your Goodwill, I expect far better from you in many ways.

Unexpected Gem Alert!…read more So picture this, I'm dragging a bit today, that late morning/early afternoon slump after doing literally everything spring related around our homestead. (And no, not a Little House on the Prairie homestead, just five minutes up the road, but with all the pollen, chirping Tweetie birds, baby critters, a 16 year old son, and my handsome, big bearded hubby of almost 30 years this September. Thank you very much. It feels like a full blown homestead!) Anyway, squirrel moment incoming!! Hubs casually says, "Wanna go to the flea market?" I'm like, what flea market?! He says one just opened up... didn't even need to finish his sentence. Honestly, babe, you had me at flea market. (Although I did pause for a second to make sure it wasn't some trick detour on the way to Home Depot or the sports store. Don't play with my emotions like that Mr. I know your tricks.) Y'all. This place is fantastic! It's just getting started but already has some seriously cool finds. Reminder, one woman's junk could be another's treasure. Super clean, friendly folks, and tons of potential to grow. Bonus points: it's right next to the German Diner and Pink Bikini Coffee Stand. Yes, you read that right. Coffee, food, AND shopping--all in the same parking lot?! My kind of trifecta. If you're a vendor, this spot has great energy and prime potential. And if you're just like me and love a good treasure hunt...run, don't walk. My teen and his crew are big into thrift finds, and this location near River Ridge couldn't be better. He scored two pairs of jeans today. I'll share pics tomorrow. We haven't even had time to snap the Montage yet! Getting a photo of a teen boy is like Pulling an unloose tooth! Just one Omgosh, we ruined their lives, and an hour later they're taking a gazillion with their Peeps?! On a Serious Note Though. Not that kids aren't. Support your local vendors, and small businesses OVER corporations, and franchises right now! They are who need us. We need one another. Show the corrupt corporations and franchise. We don't need them. Lift your community. Things might take a little longer or cost a couple dollars more, but think about the pockets you're actually helping, and giving back to. A little kindness goes a long way.
