After reading the former review about employees being less than professional and kind at drop off my husband offered to go instead of me today, 9/5 around 2:30. Bracing to hear about a similar, bad drop off experience my husband came back and had glowing things to say. He informed me that the individuals who greeted him were extremely polite, professional and very appreciative of our donations designated for The Arc. We donated very nice name brand clothing, shoes and kitchen items and will return there with more items as a result of that experience. Whatever they did to improve their drop off customer service, it worked! read more

One of the great secrets of health care is that people need crutches for short stretches of time. Early on, I learned that if you need a pair of crutches, your best bet is to find these in a second-hand store such as this, rather than pay retail. The selection of walking aids available for purchase in this particular location did not let me down. In fact, I was quite surprised at all of the crutches - wood crutches, aluminum crutches, big crutches, small crutches. They even had two different walkers. I got out of this place with a sweet pair of crutches for 4.99 AND a walker for 9.99 - less than $15 and I owned both - crutches and a walker. Next door I got two tennis balls at the dollar store and I was fully equipped. Compare that to the going price of retail crutches at the group health ($26 - and only then if you have a prescription from a doctor on premises) and at Walts medical supply (also $26 but inconveniently located down the street across the highway.) I hear the hospital charges $75 for a pair. $75!!! Throw in the walker and the tennis balls, and it's a no-brainer. Go secondhand. Value Village rules, for all of your short-term assisted-mobility needs. read more

I am a big fan of Value Village. It has quite a few things I use frequently at cheap, cheap prices. I mostly go here for kid's clothes, books, and sewing patterns. This was one of the few places with an okay selection of maternity items. KID CLOTHES Decent selection of girl's styles. Boy's styles are, just like in many stores, a bit more limited. There is an okay selection of baby clothes. I can always find nice jeans or slacks for my 5-year old for $3 or less. The better quality kid's clothing items tend to be pants, shorts, overalls, skirts, and dresses. Their coat selection varies. Baby clothing requires a bit more shopping. WOMEN'S CLOTHING Sizes and styles vary. You'll find a junior's large along with women's large. There aren't a ton of petites, but they're around and worth getting. The petites at Value Village tend to be brands that fit me well so I am always sure to browse the shirts and blouses.There is usually a nice selection of sweaters as well. I don't get pants or skirts here. They always fit kind of funny and many of the styles tend to be more outdated than the tops. Dress sizes are all over the place. I try to avoid that area. The maternity section is all right. Blouses might be hit or miss, but the pants that come through tend to be nice. MEN'S CLOTHING My husband can never find pants long enough at this store. He has better luck finding t-shirts and polos in Tall sizes. It is very hard to find new-looking men's clothes. Most are incredibly worn. The upside to this is most t-shirts and polos we have found tend to be around $4. There is a decent selection of cheap, hideous ties. My husband bought a few as a joke. (I hope!) The belt selection is always lacking, but there seems to be an excess of suspenders. SHOES There is always a rotating selection of kid's shoes. I have gotten quite a few pairs of nice kid's sneakers for $2 each. I buy sneakers and casual shoes here occasionally. The small sizes tend to be cheaper. Value Village is a good place to find women's shoes in sizes 5 and 6. It is almost impossible to find not-beat-up men's shoes in 12's. BOOKS This is an AWESOME place to get kid's books. I got a full set of muppet babies and fraggle rock weekly readers for my daughter. There are tons of things to look through and it isn't uncommon for me to come home with bags of books. OTHER They sell old sewing patterns. I definitely look here before going to buy a new pattern at a craft store. I found some great kid's patters from the 70's and 80's. There are also patterns for crafts. It's been fun to attempt to make them on my sewing machine. read more

In my experience, each and every Value Village location has its own individual areas they excel in, at least for my needs. So far on my multiple visits, I find that the dishes/utensils, home decor and bags are the areas I discover decent deals and good quality items in. However, aside from that, his location is on par with most other locations in being seriously run down and doesn't have the greatest quality of staff. No offense intended, but when the toothless cashier is busy yelling at other employees while half paying attention to ringing up your items, I begin to wonder where they find these people. I have heard they have a .99 day but I have yet to take the time to find out when it is. read more

Not bad. I pretty much only go here for kids' clothes because that is what they seem to have the best selection of. Good turnover rate, so you get a pretty decent selection of new stuff. Seems to be well run. In general their prices are not great compared to garage sales. You instead get the convenience of everything in one place rather than having to run around. But if you want the same stuff for a lower price, go to garage sales, fundraiser sales, or church sales. They take credit cards. read more

Watch out for their ridiculous exchange policy that they don't bother to explain before you buy the clothes. I asked the greeter and all she said was that since the fitting rooms were closed, I can take them home, try them on and bring them back. She failed to tell me that I had 14 days to do a straight exchange, not gift card. I already bought what I wanted. What the heck am I supposed to get now. Don't bother with shopping sprees until the fitting rooms open back up or you'll get screwed. read more

Usually this store is pretty decent. Bargains if you look. But don't take your children there or you'll get nagged about them needing a mask and one day it's 3 and up need a mask and the next day it's 2 and up need a mask... and they don't tell you nicely either. Rude women following you around telling you to make your toddler wear a mask no matter what. Horrible customer service. No need to be rude about the mask, ladies. read more

Continually disappointed by this store and the ridiculous prices they ask for sub par items. Old dresses for 15.00+, shirts starting at 9 dollars? I shopped here because I didn't have the money to buy a lot of new things but after coming to this store and walking out empty handed time after time I would much rather support goodwill or buy new! I used to hate goodwill in comparison but they have totally priced themselves out of my budget and I go to goodwill instead. At least goodwill has consistent sales! read more

So while in this thrift store I had a few items and there was a color coded 1/2 off, which is only topped by 1.99 day in my book. So I found a few things for a outdoor garden art idea that I have and then one piece that I though would be great but it was 12.99, OUCH! But it was the correct color so I though I would buy it. At the check out stand there was a sign that said "Yellow .99" WHOOT! Imagine my joy and excitement. Then I asked, at the check out stand, "so is it 1/2 off today or .99 cents?" She replied, "Oh that is up in error, jimmy can you please take that sign down." I asked if she was going to honor the advert, and she laughed and I asked again. Then a manager came over and saw the original price on my item and said "no". I have a lot of arguments why they should have: 1. Other retailers would 2. False advertising 3. should not matter if I know that it is incorrectly marked (they wouldn't care if an item was OVER priced" 4. Shouldn't matter what the price of the item is originally that I want for 99 cents. 5. etc. etc. etc. I saved it, and went on my merry way and cussed the manager out to myself in the car. Then decided it wasn't worth the emotion over 6 bucks. But I sure wish I had taken a picture of the sign and him taking it down to post with my rant. read more

I love to thrift shop as a pass time . Who doesn't like treasure hunting. They have a great selection for linens including curtains and blankets . I was able to get 5-6 curtain sets in great condition for under 50$ . A few appeared brand new. Absolutely love the linen selection but other then that the other items are so so and we usually find better quality at good will . Not to say that they do not ever get a Dimond in the ruff . It's still a fun place to treasure hunt . read more

I'd give them 0 stars if possible. (1) If you want to put your money where your mouth is and support nonprofit thrift stores, you might want to AVOID Value Village / Savers stores. Please educate yourself on the business practices of billion-dollar companies like Value Village before donating your items (and money) to their management and CEOs. (2) THEY INTENTIONALLY SELL BROKEN ELECTRONICS. Do not buy anything that you can't THOROUGHLY INSPECT first. I asked 2 employees if the electronics I wanted to buy were tested before being put on the shelves. I was told they were. Still, I asked what I could do if I bought them & they didn't work. I was told not to worry, I could bring them back "to exchange" them. Sadly, this is misleading as they have a very old school way of doing this. (See the next point.) When I did bring the items back, I was told they'd be "redonated" despite me clearly explaining that the items didn't work. I asked for a marker so I could write on the items that they're broken. The staff REFUSED to clearly mark the items as broken! Fortunately my pen worked on these items, so I wrote "BROKEN" in large lettering. If they're gonna sell broken stuff, the least they could do is clearly mark the items. (3) THEY DO NOT STAND BY WHAT THEY SELL. They do not offer store credits or refunds. All they offer is bring the merchandise back within 7 days and exchange it for something of equal value or less at the same moment that you bring back the merchandise. No such thing as store credit if there's nothing in the store useful to you. So I was SOL because I had no time today or this week to shop for something - anything - that I could use. For a store with profits in the billions lining the pockets of their wealthy CEOs, no wonder they don't care about standing by the products that they've gotten at no cost to sell to silly suckers. I will never shop at any Value Village / Savers store again. I will spread the word about them INTENTIONALLY selling broken items. I will continue correcting people who believe their intentionally deceptive marketing. They mislead folks into thinking that they're a nonprofit supporting local charities. WRONG! They're a very wealthy for-profit company that donates only a tiny portion of their profits to charities. If you don't shop at Wal-Mart for moral reasons, you probably also want to avoid shopping here. Do a bit of research into the company's profits, business structure, and employee experiences before giving them your money. read more

I love coming to value village but after today I don't think I'll be coming back. As soon as I walked into the building, I was targeted by the new security guard. He followed me through the building the whole time I was there and made me feel threatened and extremely uncomfortable. Every time I looked up from my browsing he was at the end of the row watching me. Even though I had done nothing wrong, I was scared to leave without buying something because I felt like he was going to tackle me. read more

I came here not knowing what kind of store this was, and it was alright. I did like that they have a bunch of cheap halloween stuff, which is nice. As for the stuff they have here, most of it is crap. But if you're lucky, you can find a decent pair of jeans. That's all I would buy here, bc the store smells like old musty clothes. Okay giving it three stars only because the clerk was nice and even joke a lil bit which I appreciated having a frustrated toddler with a "sherk" look on her face, besides that I can't explain how I left with $60 dls, ticket on my hand a couple I'd $2.99 girl shoes one book and over priced snickers I took coz my daughter wanted them $6.99...What?! this value village remains me to some Goodwill price tags a place in all Which all is cute worth $7 and up!.,sigh had to leave many cute dresses behind and even if this couldn't justify to spend such amount of money in used stuff... $3 for a pair of well used socks?! This place is ok. Seems a little pricey for a thrift store seeing as they get the items for free. It can be really hit or miss price wise. But the staff are always nice and the place is immaculate and bright. So it cant hurt to poke around when I get over that way. read more

This is one of the cleanest thrift stores I've been to. I went thrift store shopping today and they had things nicely arranged, good prices, and name brand clothes at good prices. The employees were nice and very helpful. Plan on going back with my grand daughters!! :-) read more

As thrift stores go, they have quite an extensive selection of clothing, but much higher prices than other thrift stores. The clothing selection isn't any better than I find at Goodwill.They do have fitting rooms and when I was there on a Sunday afternoon, the store wasn't crowded and getting a fitting room was pretty easy. Next time, I'll check out the other departments in the store. read more

I like that the prices are pretty inexpensive, and their selection for Halloween is AWESOME! The employees are not always super polished, but they are very nice. Thrift stores are not as cheap as they used to be, but that is across the board. I know they are great about taking on youth from the community and mentoring them in job skills and hiring them on later. They don't have comprehensive program like Goodwill, though. read more

I have a mediocre feel for this place. Yes, the store is huge but I feel like something is missing. Maybe it's the informative stuff and customer service that I desire. The cashiers are somewhat "blah" in attitude. Often I've experienced my checkout interrupted by small talk amongst other employees as well as customers behind me. Today was awful! I get to the register to check out and after my card is swiped for purchase I'm then told about orange tags bring 50% off!!! Nevertheless, I didn't have orange tagged items but if I knew that was the "sale of the day" that would've been a focus. Oh well! I know to ask before I start the shopping adventure. Store is large and has a lot to choose from in every section. Sales are good when they're active. They're not as often as they used to be. 6 months ago I could walk in on any day of the week and there would be a chosen colored tag on sale for 50% off. I get the impression that this is only done on a set schedule, but I couldn't ascertain this. The store is generally clean and well staffed. Employees are easy to spot, which is a plus in my eyes. I rarely find pieces that shouldn't be on the sales floor. In the past year I've only found two items that weren't up to 2nd hand store snuff. Toys seem to be hit or miss. I've found some awesome stuff here, and I've seen some stuff that should have been in the trash. But this is par for the course for any chain thrift. Branded items are definitely over priced more often than not. I often see Starbucks mugs and thermos' selling for close to half of MSRP, yet they're not in very good condition. I still shop here often, but I'm very picky about what I'll buy. read more

I recently voluntarily left employment from the cloth processing side of this establishment. Do not purchase clothing from this store, i have personally witnessed and unfortunately participated in the processing of clothing that was either infested with rat feces and or urine or lying next to it. Day in and day out i would be sorting "clean" pieces of clothing that have been sitting inside of bags paired with childrens underwear covered in childrens poop. Please... please do not put these clothes on your children... i fear the spread of hepatitis c. Prices are no longer bargain prices due to employees using search engines to find true value of items and reducing cost 10-15%. Yes, they do target customers on the camera systems and yes they can zoom in as far as they like. I will tell you that at least 75% of the hard donations are recycled for the companies personal profit. Ending this review. i will tell you that more than likely 30% of the total donations that don't reach the floor are not recycled. they are thrown either in a compactor or a dumpster. and then shipped to other countries landfills in order to preserve the united states land. My greatest concern is the clothing. please if you do buy from here... wash the clothes.. maybe twice before you wear them. I was in the market for some new duds since my new years resolution to get healthier seems to be working. Since I knew I would be out and about on President's Day, I decided to drop by for the holiday 50% off sale. Very glad I did. I found 2 pairs of Dockers that were brand new (still had all the tags on them) priced at $14.99 which is about half of what I expect to pay on sale at any of the dept. stores. On top of that, I got them for $7.50 a piece. I also bought a mix of very nice long sleeve dress shirts, several short sleeve shirts AND a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt that was a killer good deal for $3.00 after the half off. I walked out of there spending $45 with a bag jammed with 10 shirts and the 2 new pairs of pants. Wandered the rest of the store but it was pretty typical rummage sale items. Kudos for the small shopping baskets that have a collapsible handle and wheels. The sales people are courteous and prompt. Will probably not shop there other than the holiday sales but who knows. read more

The other reviews made me hesitant but I was in the area, it was super saver 50% off day for summer clothes, and Value Village has never done me wrong. As always, the store is huge, very well organized and super clean. I am preparing to go on vacation next month and found everything I needed here, including shoes, swimsuits, shorts, a giant purse and a Betsy Johnson summer dress for $5, after my super saver discount. No joke. Granted the furniture prices were so bad I literally LOLed, but if you know how to maximize your super saver card, this store is always a winner. Highly recommended! read more

I really don't like second hand things...but when i went into Value Village i like that everything were organize by size, dresses, pajamas, jeans etc very organize...the only thing that turned me of were the tennis shoes full of dirt...i feel like Value Village should at least clean them...everything else is great...will shop there again and i have recommended store...i showed friends the things i purchase and quality they were impressed. read more

While shopping in this store I witnessed a clerk (Kimberly) jump to conclusions about a woman and proceed to stalk her through the store and then inform every clerk that she was a thief and needed to be watched. She assumed a set of empty hangers left on a rack had the clothing stolen by the woman when in fact those hangers were left by me. Even after a cashier rang up the purchase and said the customer was a regular, Kimberly continued to gossip and state how she hated how the customers always try to get you to trust them, and had another associate stalk that customer out of the store and outside. When I confronted Kimberly and explained that the hangers were mine, she lied, changed her story and stated she's allowed to keep track of the merchandise. I knew when I saw your reaction to those empty hangers that I should explain right away that they were mine but I didn't believe you would go to such lengths to accuse an honest regular customer of stealing. read more

Really disappointed with my last visit. Purchased many electronics (none of which worked) here, only to realize I couldn't exchange some of them. I guess it's my fault for expecting something to actually work that they are selling. They do not allow refunds which leaves you to possibly exchange your broken items for some other junk you don't want or need. Some items just aren't exchangeable for whatever reason, such as a broken stereo receiver. A waste of time and money. At least now I know never to shop here again. read more
