I had purchased here many times in the past without an issue, but the most recent auction 23-06 I…read morewas left with an abundance of negative issues. I had bid on and purchased 23 separate lots. I had issues with two lots, the first was a toilet advertised as elongated and unused. Upon getting it home and opening the packaging it was missing the lid, and interior tank pieces, appeared dirty/used and was rounded. The issue with the other lot was a Kushlan concrete mixer that was won. At pick up, they attempted to give me a much junkier Ryobi concrete mixer. When brought up the gentleman from the front was very apologetic and attempted to find the right one, a short while later I learned that they gave away the concrete mixer that I bid on/won and paid for. The gentleman they gave it to apparently already used it and had no interest in giving it back. The owner Daniel's only solution is to refund my bid. In my opinion that's unacceptable, I should get the concrete mixer that I paid for, now I will have to order and wait on a full price one from the store which has put me behind on many projects. You are required to register to bid/keep a card on file for the auction because if you are late to pickup they charge you an extra $5 per day per lot. Why is there zero accountability for a business owner to make things right and uphold the binding agreement that was reached when the auction timed out and I won the item??? Extremely unprofessional and they have forever lost a customer who has spent thousands of dollars there and always paid/picked up on time.

I like Sound Auction first and foremost and have done business with them many times. Unfortunately…read morethey choose to use KP Gunworks for firearm transfers and this is the comment I left on KP Gunworks Page: 12/16/25 I win two firearms on auction from Sound Auction. Sound Auction uses KP Gunworks for firearm (FFL) transfers. on 12/20/25 I present to KP Gunworks to complete the transfer at 0930. The business phone number states they are open at 10:00 on Saturday. On the door it is posted 9-5 and on Google it states 11-3 on Saturday. I sat in my car for over two hours 0930-1140 passing all three posted opening times and no-one ever showed. Several people showed as well and one young man who stated "He just shows up when he wants to". When he wants to? I have over four thousand dollars invested in an FFL transfer company that Sound Auction chooses to use that might show up when he wants to? At 11:40 I returned home to Lynnwood an over 120 mile round trip for absolutely nothing. Reading the Yelp comments over a two year span, I cannot believe KP Gunworks could be associated with any reputable business or that Sound Auction would have more respect for their customers and choose another FFL that at the minimum honors their posted opening time(s). I called my credit card company and cancelled the purchase and noted it as potential fraud. If a company never opens, and you cannot complete transfer paperwork, and eventually take possession, that is theft at a minimum and I certainly am not paying for that.

Sometimes it's when things DON'T pan out, that you truly learn about a business…read more I've done both online and onsite bidding with Crawford, probably 4 or 5 auctions in total. I've won lots of cool stuff I've been happy with, a few items that didn't pan out, and just recently I ended up with two antique shelves that were just plain unusable. When it comes to buying antiques some stuff just has quirks - that's expected. These shelves had more than just antique quirks - they were in need of major repair. These were major issues that weren't listed on the item description. After winning them online, the Crawford guys loaded my rental truck with my items, and I didn't notice the condition of the shelves until about 6 weeks later when I got ready to move them into the house. I contacted Crawford and let them know the situation, a couple days later the owner got back to me. Now most (if not all) places require you to return items when you are unhappy with them. That would involve me renting another moving truck and driving all the way back to Olympia (I'm in Tacoma). I told the owner this would be a pain and not really be worth it in the end. The owner of the business ended up refunding me a significant amount of money, including the auction fees. I was worried after six weeks I would be stuck with these items, which I paid a good amount for. Mr. Crawford was diligent about getting things right and making sure I was a happy customer. In the future I will definitely be previewing big ticket items in person before bidding online, it's just a smarter way to buy auction antiques. In the end - I'm glad that I learned that lesson with the Crawford team, as it could have been much worse. Sometimes you learn the most about a business when things go wrong - and Mr. Crawford made things right, which restored my faith in doing business with them and recommending their services to others.

Their habit of lumping unrelated items does no favor for seller. Minimal and often inaccurate description of items. Charging 50% fee for selling is not inline with services performed. I had thought they may have improved after a few years and changing locations but I was wrong. Do yourself a favor and pass on using them.
