What can I say besides, there are always gems to be found at Value Village. I donate really high quality children's clothing here and I feel like the good thrifting energy comes back to me lol. I've gotten a great pair of Levi's that I then turned into shorts, a North Face vest, graphic tees, overall high quality stuff. Also, another trick is that if you go on a Monday, everything is 25% off, who doesn't like to save extra?! I've also gotten some good toys because we know kids can go through some toys or develop beyond particular toys relatively quickly. The only unfortunate thing here is that sometimes there may be a person in the front asking for change etc. Overall, Value Village is the place to come to if you have an open mind and maybe a little imagination too. Happy thrifting!!

I've been to four area locations and this is the worst! Not as clean & organized and the prices are higher.

We went to drop off many cloths and books there. It was very quick and easy. The boy there helped us to unload and was very welcoming.

It's absolutely huge and has every section you could think of. Come in with a plan or you'll be overwhelmed! There are no changing rooms and while there are bathrooms last time I went in they were so dirty they were unusable. Some items like hats and belts are sorted by men and women but are kind of unisex. If you go on busier days it will be more crowded and messy. Mondays and Thursdays have 25% off sales and are busy. Weekends are busy as well. They are always putting out new items throughout the day. There are no changing rooms, so wear something close fitting so you can try clothes on over what you're wearing. You can always donate something to get a 20% off coupon. The staff are really nice and friendly here- if you have any questions just ask!

I am documenting an inappropriate interaction at the Value Village location on New Hampshire Road…read morein Silver Spring. During a jewelry purchase, I requested to use two survey coupons in separate transactions. The employee, who identified herself as a manager (Danielle), made unnecessary remarks and later stated that I should be ashamed of myself for spending my son's Social Security benefits. This comment was unsolicited, personal, and entirely unrelated to the transaction. I did not disclose financial information. When I requested an apology through another manager, it was refused and the statement was denied. Remarks referencing a customer's Social Security benefits are inappropriate and raise concerns regarding compliance with customer conduct standards and nondiscrimination policies. This matter warrants corporate and HR review. "Additionally, I observed Danielle instructing customers to leave bags behind the jewelry counter, though my understanding is that this location does not have a bag-check policy." Keep in mind I had to at least rate 1 Star to leave this review I wanted 0 stars.

You can spend hours in this store. There are two significant drawbacks to thrifting, though, and this store (like most) exhibits them both: no dressing rooms and an unfriendly return policy. You can return items, but it must be within two weeks and you must spend the money on the day of your return - no money back or store credit. Go prepared - dress in removable layers, with a thin first layer to allow you to try as much on as possible in public!

The process is well organized and staff is professional, but what you get for your clothes in my opinion is not worth the process. Without going into detail I received less than $10 in cash. When you get your receipt there is no itemized bill to show you what the payout was on each item. I don't like this. So yeah, still looking for another thrift store consignment shop that will give me a decent payout, because this wasn't it. I envisioned myself walking back in there only to see that Madewell jacket on the rack for $30 after I was given $3.00 for it. The prices on the resold clothes are not low.

We are currently in one of the coldest seasons and these guys told me that they are not taking any types of jackets, sweaters, or coats. The staff, as young as they are, is just as naïve as the owner, not knowing anything of value when it's brought right to them. Do not give me wrong. I do not just take long trips to places without checking the reviews and calling first which I did both I called it was told to bring the items up to the store for a closer look, my biggest regret as soon as I arrive, I was told that I would have to wait in a line queue for about an hour. Which doesn't make any sense because on the phone I was told I could come before 2pm and I would not have to worry about waiting if I scheduling ahead. After being instructed to wait I I was given a receipt with my phone number and email and instructed to look out for a call from these guys, they never called, and I also was told that NONE of my items could be taken in. Absolutely ridiculous when you have to make that long of a drive and you also call ahead to take the proper precautions just to still be met with an unfortunate outcome. These guys are terrible. Do not come here. The parking is atrocious. The staff is ignorant and their communication is awful.

Essentially its hours now are Thursday-Sunday 3-6 pm. Even if the door is locked, just knock and the shopkeeper will let you in. - The owner (Sylvia) is going to start transitioning the clothes to the spring season... coming in a couple of weeks or so! - On that note, the shop's strong suit are the accessories -- lots of nice cocktail hats/handbags/jewelry. Examine closely, because pretty much everything in there's for sale. - Starting next week she's going to start making prices static. Yeah, no more haggling, but at least it will be a lot less pressure for those who are uncomfortable with negotiating. In conjunction, some of the prices of the clothing will be adjusted... so maybe that amazing paillette jacket will be cheaper now? Also, I've learned something recently, having become acquainted with the owner. Y'know how it might be kind of intimidating/irritating when the shopkeeper tries to talk to you/make comments about what you're browsing? Well, I always found it that way. All in all, it's just the keeper trying to be friendly, not necessarily trying to pressure you into buying something. Ain't nothin' wrong with trying to be nice.

The prices are to die for, especially in DC where most vintage or thrift stores are anything but thrifty. The shop owner, Sylvia, is such a sweet lady. Needless to say I will be going back again and again and will do my best to spread the word about this lovely little gem. I am almost a bit hesitant to share this with too many of my friends, as I want to make sure I get all the goodies, but there seemed to be plenty to go around and the shop owner is just too nice and lovely to not help support. Go there - you will find something you love. Great place to buy gifts!!!
