I literally stumbled upon this gem after going to two different local thrift stores and leaving with nothing. I followed my map here and was slightly opposed to going in, but I'm so glad I did. This place lacks curb appeal, but the items inside are great finds and remained organized. Prices are moderate.. but if you're going in looking for something specific, I'm sure you'll find it. I was in love with the $.99-1.99 book selection. I spent a good 30 minutes looking through them all. I also was pleasantly surprised to see they had a large selection of sweaters and jackets. I got 2 books and 3 sweaters for $32 which wasn't too bad, but I've done better price-wise in other states. The purse selection wasn't the greatest, but the home selection was interesting. I spent about 2 hours in here and couldn't believe how much stuff I came across with tags still attached. Everything was in good condition. The only thing I didn't find was high waisted mom jeans. Overall, this place beats any DMV thrift store I've been to in the last 4 years. Also, I was pleasantly surprised that my clothes didn't have a strong "thrift store smell." This location doesn't seem to be as clean and organized as the location I normally visit. It also smelled a little weird. I was rushing to make an exchange on the last day and needed to swing by the closest location, but I probably won't be back. The items at this location also seem to be more expensive. The store at 4969 Annapolis road has the most rude customer associates. I was just in the store and there was a young person behind the counter totally ignored me when I ask to see a piece in the show case.This is not the first time as I visit it everyday. They just dont take the time to help customers and have really have really bad attitudes. read more

I love the new floor design- seems they're undergone some renovation! Super clean. Hard working staff. Things are organized. Major upgrade all around. Great prices. No longer 50% off on Sunday's just because, but, I still found the prices to be affordable. Nice job to whoever is managing this operation. 4 stars instead of 5 due to the lack of dressing rooms. The merchandise selection was great but this location had a very confusing rule about items without price tags. While I thought it would be a no brained to price match to a similar item the cashier offered very little explanation when removing the items from the counter and telling me that I couldn't buy it. When I asked to speak to the manager I was told that the price team would have to price the item, I could not put it on hold & they had no idea what the schedule of the price team was or when the item would be back in the floor. YUCK! I love thrift stores and taking time to go through all of the things for sale. However, this store was filled with some of the ugliest clothes that were probably on sale majorly to begin with. The store itself is really dirty and there was a section that you couldn't go near that had plastic coverings all over it-not sure if it was a leak or what... Some brand name stuff-Ann Taylor Loft, Vera Bradley, and some fake Kate Spade bags. BUT...everything is SEVERELY overpriced!! -Ann Taylor Loft short sleeved shirt-10.00 -NIke workout tank-20.00 -fake Kate Spade purse-20.00 I don't know how this store stays in business with these prices. There is nothing THRIFTY about it!! You can go to an outlet store and find better quality for those prices for brand new things in better prints and colors!!!! Stay away!! read more

I can usually find items of clothing here such as belts, tops, pants, pajama bottoms and scarves. Although I'm small I still haven't found a dress I like. There is loads of children's clothing and shoes here as well as vases, small electronics and knickknacks, especially seasonal stuff that you don't want to pay big bucks for. Cashiers are friendly. It seems a bit messy in here but heck, it's a thrift shop, not downtown retail! It has parking and is in a mall that has other stores (bakery, grocery, etc) so really handy to pop in and take a look around and get what you like. read more

This is my absolutely FAVE place to go thrifting. They have the best quality shoes, shirts, denims and dresses. I've found tons of great finds and dress them up so exquisite, you'd never know they were found at a thrift store. I also get great housewares here. It's one of the BEST in the region in terms of quality clothing and while they can be pricey, you get what you pay for and on Sundays, Mondays and Thursdays, they have 50% off certain colored tags, they rotate. I hesistate telling too many people about this place bc it is already super crowded on weekends and on their big entire store 50% holidays. read more

I love this store, but the manager, security guard, and several employees were quite rude tonight. When I arrived, it was 8:30 pm and I knew how to shop in 30 minutes. I was met at the door with a rude, "The store will be closing in 30 minutes." I politely said, "Thank you" and proceeded to shop. When I was checking out, the security guard complained about customers still coming in at 8:50 and said she should lock the door and the manager told her to, "Go ahead." Another employee said, "Why don't they come back tomorrow when it's 50% off?" Another employee then said, "I hate it when they come to the register without a price tag." The response from her co-worker was, "Yeah, that's because they be taking the tags off." Lastly, when a young man was checking out, and couldn't use the particular credit card he had, the manager insensitively remarked, "I guess I have to put it back." Luckily, his mother was in the store, and she was able to purchase his items for him. This is one of my favorite 2nd Avenue Stores and I will continue to shop here, I just wish this particular store remembers that its "customer service" along with the great "finds" make customers appreciate coming back again and again. On any other day this store would have received 5 stars, but tonight with this lack of professionalism they truly "could've been better" and deserve the 2 stars that they earned tonight. read more

So where do I even begin! I truly didn't even know this store existed-where have I been ??? I ONLY found it because I got lost returning home from that side of town for work and decided to go to yelp up figure out what's in the area and low and behold, this location came up! You know I don't miss stopping my a thrift store so my car just went on thrift store auto pilot and I arrived!. Mind you, I have literally been back four times since I found the place and it wasn't too long ago that I found it!! I've found amazing deals every time I go! The best day to go is Monday- today!!! Believe it or not, I even went yesterday too! On Sundays they have three "colors" on sale -50% off but on Monday's, they add two additional colors for 33% off! I have found kids Sorel boots, barely worn for 5.00-perfect condition! Today I walked away with a pair of Lucky brand red cut off Riley denim shorts for 5.00- they were originally 9.90 but they were 50% off! I also got a new pair of gap navy khaki shorts for 4.00! Now I'm a true thrifter... Truly I'm addicted...so please give this place a try! I saw the only other person that reviewed this location only gave it one star! Perhaps they thought it would be a Macy 's/Nordstrom/Bloomingdales! I hate to be Debbie Downer---it's not that but definitely a place that if you take your time and have patience, you can find some great items!!!! One last point, the store is fairly large, the building itself is old! However, everything is pretty much organized! So all I can say is to go check it out for yourself! I used to love this thrift store. However, recently they changed management and all hell has broken loose. The prices are sky high. They have too many items behind the front and no one who really wants to show you the items. Most of the items behind the front are fake and always as high as you can purchase in the regular store. They have no one to really authenticate their supposedly high end items so they have a lot of fake items at the front. The prices are not competitive and they use to be one of the best thrift stores in the area and now they are mediocre. I have been disappointed on my last 3 visits there. To management, please get some people who want to work the front because everyone is always busy just not to help. This is unacceptable. I am a avid thrifter and on most occasions i spend around the area of $200-$300. Recently, your store has been so whack either with high prices or just a bunch of junk and i have maybe spend like $40. I took the time out of my busy schedule for this review because i was in today and i was really pissed off when i saw a fake michael kors bag at the front counter for $99 have you guys gone mad? I think there have to be someone at the Maryland Dllr to bring your store to their attention with these expensive fake items and these out of control prices. read more
