Stopped into Value Village while I was in town for a conference and had a few hours to kill--so glad I did. This place is massive. Everything was really well laid out, which made it easy to browse without feeling overwhelmed (not always the case with thrift stores). There's a ton to look through, and the prices are pretty solid. Ended up finding some great books and a few toys for my kids, which always feels like a win. If you enjoy thrifting or just want to wander and see what you can find, definitely worth a stop. read more

I live close to store & I stop by when I don't feel like traveling to Bowie. I'm tired of being forced to self check out. Manager's keep telling me that I can request a cashier but it never works out. I'll have to start taking the drive for good service not self service. read more

We went to donate some items. On the website, it said that attendants can politely decline some items. We had a child bassinet which we did not know it was unacceptable. The employee at the donation center was extremely rude and unpleasant when he declined our items. He started to insult as unconsiderate people who donate trash. We explained to him that we simply did not know. He was super rude. In fact, the bassinet was not trah looking. I hope the staff improves their customer service. It was unacceptable how he treated us. read more

Prices are reasonable, not a high turnover of merch though but that's not their fault. You probably need to visit the three in the area. Pretty nice selection. I don't give away my good cookbooks so I don't expect other people to. But occasionally you'll get some good stuff. I've been collecting yotam ottolenghi there. Yay. I'm into the plant selection and I've seen people get some pretty decent looking arrangements and occasionally plants. The fake kind of course. Store is unorganized. The customer service is terrible. I was standing near the register for twenty minutes. Then two other customers walked passed me in stood by the jewelry counter. The staff never told me that where the line was but proceeded to help the customers that arrived after me first. They don't provide bags and there isn't any sign letting you know prior to entering the store. The manager makes up prices for products if there' isn't a tag on the product instead of confirming which department the belong in first. read more

Great value in cool finds! I got an awesome Old Navy sweater that runs about 29.99 for 7.49!!! There have a lot of name brands, of course the clothes are used. Some of the clothing have new tags. I had to resist picking up one more sweater! If your looking for some regular labels come on by! I did see some BCBG sweaters, a lot of Target, Jones Of New York, I even saw a good selection of Torrid. If you shop at Torrid you know how price the items can be. I am not saying that they all will be here when you stop through but it's worth a shot. Also the clothes that I saw were worn. They look like you might have had it from last season or you stole it from your BFF's closet! A good wash, hang dry and maybe lint shave will work it out. For men, I did come across some nice button up shirts, coats and Pull overs. I did see brands such as Old Navy, Nautica, Columbia and a few other we'll know names. I love a good thrift shop and Value Village has been at the top of my list and I have been coming here for several years now. There is always something special and unique that you can find here. If I'm looking for an "Ugly Sweater" for my XMAS party or some unique pieces to accentuate my outfit, I will most likely find it here. I have found several pairs of fabulous vintage 7 jeans and they fit perfectly. Another great thing about this place is that they offer their own "VIP Member" card, which gives you discounts on certain days. Along with the discount card, they also offer 50% off everything in the store on major holidays. So if you show up on XMAS morning you will receive 50% off everything you purchase #WINNING. But beware on the days that they are offering the 50% off, you can expect to stand in line for a bit because it can become quite crowded. If you have any items in your home like clothes or appliances that you are no longer in need of, you can bring them here to donate and you will receive a slip for donating for a tax write off too. The employees here are very nice and the place is pretty organized for a thrift store. This store constantly advertises falsely. They have every excuse not to honor whatever sale is posted. For example, over the 3 day MLK weekend they advertised clothing, shoes, and accessories at half price. The jewelry is clearly marked and tagged 'accessories', yet they refused to honor the sale. The registers often stall and the cashiers are told to recharge you even though you have already swiped and received approval. read more

This was my first time thrift store shopping. By chance, I came on a 50% off sale. I got 4 shirts, 2 pants, and a pair of shorts for $30! How could I not be a fan after that? The experience made me feel stupid for not doing it sooner. I'm not one of these new age, effeminate dudes where fashion is my life and my socks have to match bowtie. In fact, I went an entire year not buying clothes at all, just for the heck of it. I like to look nice and prefer quality materials, but shopping is a huge chore for me and I rarely do it. I just went because my job has casual summers and I needed to re-up. The place could be a little more organized and some stuff in there will probably never get sold. I could have sworn I saw a 10" black and white antenna TV. Unless you're prepping for the zombie apocalypse, I don't see anyone buying that. read more

Yet they are a stones throw from each other, Again the T18 Bus (From Rhode island ave metro Station ) will get you our to this Store. Prices on records jumped from .99 to $4. I used to spend $300 a month on records from this particular store, but they have lost my business. No reason a scratched or warped record should be $4, ever. Lost a good, loyal customer. read more

PRICES TOO HIGH! Used to frequent this thrift store a lot in the past. I would leave with a cart full of things for a good price. But as of late, prices shot up and quality went down. I can barely find anything I like. So I also stopped donating my things here, because I hate the fact that my used things will be sold for so much to someone in need. read more

This is what thrifting in the DMV should look like. Took a trek out to Maryland after a quick tour through DC thrift shops. This is like the Walmart of thrift stores. A little higher than stores in other metropolitan areas, but still some great deals. read more

I was really impressed when I went here. In general the clothes were in really good condition and inexpensive. There are a lot of nice pieces also. You definitely have to dig through everything, but I found a few things that I fell in love with, and they were all under $10. read more

For a thrift store their prices are a bit high. Why is that? I have gone to some Virginia stores, and the prices are much lower.

Still a nice thrift store; not as big as the one on New Hampshire Avenue, but a good thrift store, with the friendliest employees of all the thrift store here in PG County. Decent book and clothing selections, lots of knick-knacks and doo-dads for the home. read more

This is a large thrift shop that is worth browsing every so often. I usually end up finding something to buy while I'm there, although I haven't had any major scores yet... but I will still be checking in when I drive by on a Saturday afternoon. They have a pretty good selection of household goods. I've never really checked out their clothing, but they have a lot of long racks that are always full so it's probably worth checking out. Not a very good selection of furniture. read more
